Episode five

A DATE …

The day soon turned into night. Walking in with entangled hands, Dave and Rose looked inside the small but fancy restaurant.

" Oh My, this place is nice " Rose murmurs. And Dave smiles.

" I know right, After you princess," he says, and Rose smiles as she walks forward looking around, Dave following behind.

She gets to an empty table, and he draws the seat for her …

" Thanks" she murmurs, and he also takes the seat in front of her. Rose looks around

" What do you think? " He asked and she smiled.

" I love it, Dave. " She said and he smiled.

" I'm glad you do, And you look gorgeous in that dress," he says, making her blush.

" Thanks " she murmurs and just then a waitress walks to their table, and she handles the menu.

" Chicken karaage please, " Rose says and Dave looks at her. The waitress collects the menu from Rose and looks at Dave

" I would love to have what this pretty Lady wants. '' He murmured to the waitress. Nodding, the waitress collects the menu and walks away, Dave looks at Rose with a smile

" Thanks " Rose murmured and he furrowed his eyebrows.

" What for? " He asked and she shrugged.

" I don't know, For this. Everything, Being here is clearing my head from a lot of things. " Rose says, looking around her and Dave holds her hands across the table.

" It's been a week, I should make it up to you," He said and she smiled.

A few tables away, A man in a black suit looks at them from where he sat. He sips from his drink, not taking his eyes off her.

She looks goddamn pretty as she smiles, He wished she would look at him and smile at him that way too. He wished he was the one sitting In front of her, He wished she was his wife.

He licks his lips and takes another sip from his wine.

" This is delicious, " Dave says and Rose nods her head.

" The restaurant is good, " Rose murmurs, chewing on the food.

" Yeah, I've come here a few times … Some companies like to meet here " Rose nods her head.

" So, how is work going? " Rose asked and he drank from his glass of wine

" Not bad, it's been pretty busy though. But my boss isn't a tough one, At Least not like the previous one " Dave said, and Rose chuckle

" You mean the Natalie woman? " Rose asks and he nods

" Exactly. That woman was a real pain in the ass, I'm really happy she's retired " Rose smiled and there was silence for a while

" What about you? Dave asked, looking at her.

" Oh - Not bad, What can I say? " She pauses

" My boss Is nice, really nice, but he's been off lately, I don't know why " She pauses again thinking about him, The look on his face last Friday.. Rose sighs. Dave looks at her

" Maybe it's because of the new project we are working on, It's stressing everyone out so - " Dave nods

" Your boss ain't hard on you, right? "

" No, Of Course not. Sir Xavier is so sweet and - " Rose pauses when she sees the look on his face

" He's nice to all of his employees," She said and he nodded slowly. Silence invaded yet again and Rose looked at him.

Should she talk about it? About what happened last night? She clears her throat and Dave looks at her.

" Anything wrong? " Dave asks and she hesitates for a moment

" I want to tell you something " Rose murmurs slowly and he drops his cutlery.

" I know that look, What happened? Has the pain started? " He asks worriedly and she shakes her head

" No, No.. Not that " Rose says and he relaxes a bit but is still worried, If that wasn't the problem, then what was it?

" What happened? " He asks and Rose shifts uncomfortably in her seat. She hesitated yet again then breathed out. She looks at him

" Something happened Ye - " She couldn't complete when his phone rang out, Rose swallowed back her words

" Sorry, It's my Mother… She's been calling and I haven't been chanced to talk to her "

"Of course. Pick the call " Rose fakes a smile and Dave picks up. Rose sighs, resting her hand on her forehead.

Just when she summoned the courage to tell him, this had to happen. How will she tell him now? " Rose sighs feeling miserable

" Babe " Dave called after a while and she looked up at him

" Are you done? " She asks seeing him dip his phone back into his pocket

" Yeah, She was asking about the wedding preparations. And that reminds me, Your wedding dress, How far is it going? " Dave asks

" I will meet with the tailor next week, and then choose a style," Rose says simply and he nods

" I'm hoping you choose something sexy, I want you to look extremely beautiful " He murmurs and she smiles.

" I will " Rose murmured and he nodded

" So, You were saying something.. What happened? " Dave asked and she shook her head

" No, it's nothing. " She murmurs and takes her cutlery

" Hey. " Dave pushed further and she shook her head.

" It's Nothing, Seriously," Rose says but he doesn't believe her

" Rose ??" Dave says and she stands up.

" I have to - I have to use the restroom " Rose panics and walks away ..

Rose's heartbeat raced as she walked past tables, She didn't know why she was suddenly feeling heat. Her hands are sweaty and she looks back to see if Dave has decided to follow her, But he doesn't, she breathes out.

And when she decides to face the front, She bumps into someone. Her head hitting against his chest making Drinks spill everywhere followed by the sound of broken Glass.

" Oh My God " Rose panics stepping back from the broken glass

" Oh my God, I'm sorry. I - " Rose muttered seeing she had stained a perfectly clean suit

" I'm sorry–" the rest of her words hung in her throat as she saw the person before her, the person she had bumped into, the person she might have mistakenly spilled drinks on

Rose swallowed back the remains of her words as she couldn't believe who was before her.

" f**k Heavens!" Rose muttered under her breath.
