A Knock On The Door

Her heart thudded, and Rose stood to her feet quickly and walked to her wardrobe.. grabbing a shirt and sweatpants, she quickly wore them and walked to her small kitchen and grabbed a small knife; She walked slowly to the door …

The person knocks again and then tries to open the door, But it's locked.

Rose wondered how the door was locked after yesterday's incident, But that wasn't the problem now, The real problem is who’s barging on her door this early morning

Who was at her doorstep?

And she prayed to her heavenly father that he shouldn't be the one, That it wasn't the stranger who ruined her life. And that he's here to ruin her more. Rose holds the knife firmly and unlocks the door, She breathes out slowly, and before she can even open the door. The door opens and a man steps in, Rose's hand dagger hangs in the air when his saint hits her nostril.

" Oh My God, What the hell are you doing ?" Dave asks, looking at her while Rose sighs in relief.

Dave couldn't help but stare at her in awe and confusion. He steps in.

" I didn't know it was you. I'm sorry " Rose said looking inside the house and back at him, She licked her lips in sudden nervousness. Dave looked at her and then the knife she held.

" Were you expecting someone else? Is someone dangerous? " Dave asked and she shook her head in negativity

" Of Course not, Not at all.. " she answered quickly

" I have told you, Rose, Come live with me .. After all, we will be getting married soon, I don't like this environment for you, " Dave said

" This is where I grew up Dave. I can't just leave and I have told you I'm not moving in with you unless we're married. " She says and he sighs

" Okay fine, But why are you with a knife ?" He asks and she looks at him.

" Do you want to talk about something else? " Rose said, folding her hands and practically pushing her breast up.

" You weren't picking up my calls " he murmured and she recalled her ringing phone this morning.

" I was still in bed .. " Rose answered softly

" Why are you here? You didn't tell me you were coming " Rose said

" I wanted to see your beautiful face," Dave says, stroking her face.

' After these days now he cares to see her beautiful face ?? ' Rose thought, frowning slightly.

" It's been a while since I have seen you " Dave notices her change of mood and he thinks about a speech to give her and how to apologize. He walked in further.

Rose's face widened in horror as she suddenly remembered. She couldn't let him see the blood stains, how best could she explain it?

Rose walked to his front stopping him, He looked at her.

" It's good to see you too. And my messages which you read and didn't bother replying to, That was also nice of you " Rose said with a frown and he sighed

" I know I haven't been reaching out to you lately, It's just that work has been tiring, and " He breathes out

" I have also been busy Dave, I have and sometimes it seems to me like I might want to go crazy but that didn't stop me from not texting, From not calling. After, you claim you love me. Is this how we'll continue after we wed? " She blurts out and he ruffles his hair

" I know, And I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, I will make it up to you. I promise " He apologizes holding her hands but she looks away.

" Yesterday night, I messaged you, You didn't reply nor did you call back. I needed you yesterday Dave.. And - "

" And I'm sorry, I'm sorry for not being there, I'm sorry please" Dave apologizes and she doesn't bulge.

" I guess you didn't miss me at all I guess that's why you didn't call nor - "

" Hey " He murmurs cupping her nape but she doesn't look at him

" You have no idea how much I miss you, No idea " He murmurs and she slowly turns her face to him

" I Missed you, So much that you can't imagine " His voice was husky and he held her face.

Rose gazes down at his lips. He grabs her nape, positioning her head just the way he wants to kiss her, and then his lips meet with her and she reciprocates immediately, letting him in, she lets him dominate her mouth …

He pushed past her teeth and kissed the corners of her mouth. He carries her up and she entangles her legs around him and to the bed where he walks them. She gasps for air but he doesn't stop either, He kisses her neck and starts to unbutton her T-shirt kissing her down, She holds his hands and he looks at her .. Rose breathes out.

" I can't wait to have you to myself, Rose, I can't wait to - "

" I can't wait either .. " Rose says and he smiles

" I love you so much that I can't imagine what my life will be without you, " He said and caressed her face, she smiled as they both looked at each other.

" I wish you were here yesterday " Rose murmurs playing with his hair

" I shall make it up to you, " He said kissing her nose, She chuckles

" We should go out tonight," Dave says

" Like a date? " Rose asked

" Yeah, Like a date " He confirmed and she smiled.

" Okay, Go check out a dress for me will you? " Rose says and he smiles.

Rose licks her lips as she sees the blood stains on the duvet which is visible. She tried to act normal so he wouldn't suspect anything.

Dave gets off her. He looked at her on the bed and smiled and just when he was about to retreat to the wardrobe, He saw something and he forced his gaze back to her, Back to the bed.

" Is that blood? " He asks and moves nearer, Rose's heart skips as she sits up immediately.

" No - No " Rose Stutters and he looks at her, then at the bed stains

" It certainly looks like blood " He walks closer and words can't form her mouth

" No - " she finds herself saying and he looks at her weirdly

" What do you mean by No? " He asks her and she looks at him, " Rose swallowed.

" Hmm, It's - " She thought of an excuse. Anything at all

" Rose ?? " Dave asked and walked closer

" It's menstruation blood " she blurts out and he stops, looking at her.

" I had my period yesterday night…" She adds further and he looks at her for a while.

Doesn't he believe me? What's with the look? Why is he looking at me that way? Does he suspect something? She thought to herself

" Oh. Are you okay? " He sits beside her and she looks at him

" I know you do have pains on your period, Are you feeling okay? " Rose nodded her head positively

" I'm fine, At Least for now " she murmurs and he nods his head

" Sorry I wasn't there yesterday, " He says, taking her hands in his, she looks at him.

" Yeah, I wish u were. Hopefully, you would have helped " she murmurs remembering yesterday.

She had wished he was there, She sniffed in and blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall.

" But I am fine now, Your presence seems to help ..Now, will you go pick me a dress ?? " She sniffs in and he smiles.

Standing up, He walks over to her wardrobe and checks the clothes in the closet looking for something beautiful and sexy.

" What do you think about this? Dave says, showing her a black midi dress.

" I think it's perfect, " Rose says and he smiles.

" That's it then, will you rest while I make us breakfast? "

" Yes please, I would like you to feed me also " Rose jokes as she removes the duvet that's stained, she drops it in her laundry basket and lays a clean sheet on it.

" I will be more than happy to do so, " Dave says and drops the dress on the couch, He walks over to the kitchen and starts cooking, Rose bites her lips as she rests her head on the pillow.

" Oh Goodness!

That was quite close ", Rose murmurs
