Charlotte’s POV
Sitting out in the cool evening air I use my binoculars to view the patrons entering the club. I mostly just want to see what type of person enters such a private establishment. I notice expensive cars and clothing, mostly upscale and sexy attire. Gorgeous men and women being searched as they enter the building. It looks like they are stripped of all cellphones, I’m not sure what else they have to give up as well. I don’t really recognize anyone by name, although I can tell they are famous and there are some politicians. I am terrible at remembering names though and I don’t pay attention to celebrity gossip or obsess over the wealthy so watching them is even more fun. I can create stories in my head to go along with their appearances, it makes people watching more fun.
I watch a black town car pull up and the driver opens the door for a very handsome man, probably in his early 30’s, sandy blond curly hair, chiseled chin, clean shave, toned body in a deep blue Armani suit. He buttons up his suit coat and I realize this is one of the characters from a TV show I watch. I don’t know his name, but I do recognize his face. The back passenger door opens, and a beautiful woman climbs out. Her legs are tan, and she is wearing a silk red gown, with slits that go up to the top of her thighs. She exudes s*x appeal. She has blonde hair that is done up in a fancy updo with little tendrils that fall against her gorgeous face. She has deep red lipstick and natural makeup on. I can’t tell if her breasts are real but they are held tight in her gown with a deep V-neck cut and they look like every man’s dream. This woman is just radiant. The man grabs her around her waist and pulls her close and whispers something in her ear. She looks at him with a seductive smile and I’m telling myself he must have just told her how much he wants to f*ck her. I don’t know their story, but they look like a fairytale couple, maybe long-time lovers, high school sweethearts that have withstood the time and are still as happily in love now as they were the day they first saw each other.
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
A loud banging at my door interrupts my daydream.
“Just a minute,” I yell, putting my empty dinner plate and wine glass on the counter as I rush to the door. I look through the peephole but can only see a man’s suit, his face isn’t in the frame. “Who is it?” I ask through the door, knowing I am not expecting any company.
“Delivery service,” comes a response. I didn’t order anything to be delivered. I have already received the equipment being delivered from a courier service. “Umm, I didn’t order anything, you have the wrong apartment. Thanks anyways.”
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
The men knock again. Now I am starting to get concerned. “Whatever you have you can leave at the door, I am not opening my door to someone I don’t know when I am not expecting anyone or anything,” I respond.
“Ma’am if you don’t open the door for us, we will be forced to break it down,” a man replied. “We just need to talk to you and then we will be on our merry way.”
Adrenaline courses through my veins. What the hell?! I have been in this city for less than a day and I feel like the walls are closing in. This can’t be good. “I am going to call the police, please leave.” I say. “I have a gun and I know how to use it,” I add, thankful that I was able to check a gun in my luggage and had the foresight to buy a small amount of ammo at the store nearby earlier today.
“Look ma’am we don’t want any problems. We are from a nearby business and have some security concerns that we need to speak with you about.”
I debate what to do. I go grab my gun and keep it on me just in case. I unlock the door and jump back as far as I can while telling them to come in. I point my gun at the door just in case while the men come into my apartment.
“Please lower your gun ma’am, we are not here to harm you. We are here to ask you some questions.”
“How do I know you are telling the truth? I can see you are carrying your own firearm. I will not lower my gun until you place your firearms on my counter,” I respond.
The men look at each other and hesitate for a second. Glancing around they see I am alone and then the first man puts his gun on the counter. He glances at the other two and they do the same. With their hands raised the lead guy says, “we have our guns on your counter, please lower yours. We don’t want any harm today. We just wanted to know why you are surveying our clientele with binoculars and we need to know what photos you have taken.”
I lower my gun and latch the safety but do not let my gun leave my hands. “I just moved here today and saw there was a party going on, I was just curious as to what kind of people were going to the party. I like to people watch. I haven’t taken any photos. I don’t have any camera’s here, and I can show you on my phone the photos I have taken.” I open my phone and show them my gallery, the last dozen photos were of my house and land before I left. I haven’t taken any other photos for a while before that.
“We can’t have you watching our clients enter the premises. They are ensured of their utmost privacy, and we require they are given the privacy they ask for.”
I scoff, “you do realize that watching people out in public from my balcony is not a crime, nor is it an invasion of their privacy. I am not going to be told that I cannot look from my balcony at any point. This is ridiculous.”
“We don’t know you or what your motives may be. We cannot ensure the safety and security of our clients without knowing that information. While you claim this, we have no reason to believe you,” he responds. “Either you can stay inside the apartment after we thoroughly search through your entire home or you can come with us and we can ask you more questions in our building.”
“You have got to be kidding me. Whatever. I don’t have anything to hide. I refuse to allow you to search my apartment though, I know my rights and you cannot just barge in here and search through my things, especially since you are working for a company, not the police or government,” I retort.
They exchange glances with each other, and the lead guy shakes his head. “You could just make this easy for yourself you know. You are making this harder than it needs to be.”
I stand looking at the man with a scowl. I could careless what he thinks. “I guess calling the police it is then,” I say as I get my phone out to dial 9-1-1.
The man grabs my phone from me and throws it across the room. He then grabs onto me, takes my gun and forces me onto the couch in the living room. “You will sit here until my boss gets here and he can decide what to do with you,” the man yells at me while I just glare back at him. One of the men step outside and I can faintly here he is on the phone telling his boss there is trouble.
About twenty minutes later my door opens and I’ll be damned if it isn’t the *sshole from the airport. I laugh and say, “if it isn’t the *sshole from the airport becoming an even bigger *sshole outside of it!” He tenses his jaw, and he looks like he can’t decide whether to smirk or scowl. He leans down next to my ear and tells me with a deep whisper, “I told you if I was anywhere but the airport, I would teach you a lesson for talking to me like that.” I shiver, although I am not sure if it is from fear or anticipation. Not wanting to give him the satisfaction I respond, “I don’t think any lesson you can give me would teach me to respect you. I don’t respect *ssholes and clearly you don’t know how to be anything different. Now, I don’t know who you are or what right you think you have to be in my apartment, but you can kindly get the f**k out.”
He laughs and tells his security team to wait in the hall. “Are you sure boss? She does have a gun and seems to know how to use it,” one of the men respond. He assures them he will be fine, and they let themselves out.
“My name is Antonio. I am the owner of a club down the street. I don’t allow my patrons to be spied upon and their information leaked to the press. I don’t care what right you think you have but I don’t play fair. Stop surveilling my clients or I will have another lesson to teach you,” he firmly tells me.
I roll my eyes and immediately see it pisses him off. “Well Antonio, I still don’t give a rat’s ass, but I will stay inside for the rest of my night. I am choosing to because I have prior obligations so don’t think I am going to bow down at your every command. I don’t cower to little threats,” as I give him a side-eye and glance down at his lap, “you may be the big bad wolf in your area of the world but that doesn’t extend to me. Now please leave my apartment so I can get on with my night.”
He smiles at me as he gets up. “Don’t think I forgot about at least one lesson I owe you. I will give it to you one day, mark my words. I’ll leave you to the rest of your night, but my men will be watching your balcony. If they catch you out there watching my club again, I will be back and I assure you that your little ass won’t like that.”
I lock the door as he leaves, and I decide to forego my movie night and instead head to my bedroom to relieve the ache between my legs. I haven’t been this turned on in a very long time.
