Langdon I can’t believe I’m paired with the geek, but this could all work out in my favour. My grades have been dropping and are a little shite TBH my parents are throwing a piss fit. I need someone not only to help me but do the work and I can take credit for it. But, I don’t see Arden lighting up even just a little to lie for me and tell them I did the work, so I guess il leave to let her help me with my work if I’m going to get anywhere and I have the perfect plan she can tutor me that way it’s doing my work with our even knowing it. I grin evilly. With my plan formed and complete she can hardly say no and I have ways into getting what I want. The bell rings and we gather our stuff and she’s out the door before I’m done. I run after her and call her, grabbing her wrist. She turns angrily. “What the hell do you want Langdon? Isn’t it enough that we have to work together on this dumb project?” “I didn’t think you thought any project was dumb, nerd.” “I don't. Urgh it’s dumb cause I was made to do it with you!” “Im not that bad nerd.” “Urgh, don’t you get it?” “Get what, what’s there to get?” “You’ll make me do your half of the project and gain praise for something you didn’t even participate in!” “I never thought of that, thanks nerd.” “Oh no you don’t Langdon if we’re paired for this project you’re not getting off scotfree you’re damn well helping.” I hold my hands up in surrender. “Fine geek I’ll help.” “Good.” “I wasn’t stopping you for the project.” She sighed. “So why the hell did you stop me then?” “No need to curse, nerd.” “Get on with it Langdon, we've got another lesson before the end of the day.” “Okay okay sorry for taking up your precious time, but I wanted to ask if you’ll tutor me.” She laughs mechanically. “Thats funny. What makes you think I’ll tutor the bad boy of the school?” “Cause I need help.” “Erm. No.” “Oh come on nerd my parents will flip if I get s**t grades.” “You should’ve thought about that before you came to me. Still no.” “You’ll regret it if you don’t.” “I’m not scared of you Langdon.” I step into her space, our mouths almost touching but as I’m taller than her my lips an inch above hers and she swallows hard making a kind of weird shrieking noise. “Yuoll help me nerd I won’t take no for an answer we’ve already got a project to do so helping me out on other subjects won’t be too hard. If you refuse I’ll make your life a living hell and you won't be able to walk down those corridors without being bitched about. Do we have a deal?” “Sure.” She squeezed out. “Excelent we start after school. Meet me by the gates.” She nods. “You better be there nerd or I’ll come looking for you and the outcome won’t be pretty understood.” “Yes, can I go now?” I nod and let go of her wrist. “Outside the gates don't be late.” She nods and hurries away. I grin to myself and walk to my final lesson noting that I’ve got one over on the nerd and if she disobeys me just once I can turn every own against her even her best friend with the s**t I’ve got in her. Arden I can’t believe I gave in to Langdon Whitlock. I always told myself I would never let him bully me onto anything, but I know him all too well what he says he means and I hate to think what he has got on me. He’s always ten steps ahead when he chooses his target; he also seems to know their weakness and their secrets. I’ve seen how things end when someone disobeys him, they don’t end well at all, I’ve seen kids self harm and leave school because of him making their lives pure hell. Kids had committed suicide throguh bullying but they could never prove it was him or his friends seventh thoguh everyone knew. I need to keep my wits about me and play him at his own game. I need the upper hand. I need to find out what I can about him and use it against him. I sit at the front as usual I know I get stares from other kids, but I don’t care I want good grades even if they don’t and besides u have to sit close cause of the strength of my glasses in day I’ll get contact but until then I have to do with these NHS prescription glasses. The teacher begins the lesson and as per usual paper spit balls are aimed at me and paper balls with rude messages in them aimed at my head but the teacher puts a stop to it as per but it doesn’t stop the bullying so how will it be any different if I don’t help Langdon how can it possibly get any worse than it already is? The bell rings and I get tripped up and pushed as the kids leave the class and I head outside to meet Langdon. He’s waiting by the gates. He looks up and over at me and smirks. I want to roll my eyes but I know it’s a bad idea. I walk slowly over to him. He drapes his arm over my shoulders. “So how’s my favourive nerd?” “Good.” “Excellent, are you ready to go? You don’t need to call your olds or anything?” He laughs. “Already done.” His face contorts like he can’t believe I called my mom. I did it when I was in the bathroom getting rid of the spit balls before coming out here. Disgusting. One day karma will bite them all in the ass and guess who will be laughing then? Me. “What? I needed to let her know I was studying so she didn’t worry. I guess your parents don’t worry about you.” “They don’t give two shits as long as I do well at school." “Which you're not.” “I just don't get the s**t they’re teaching.” I nod. “I'll help the best I can, but I can’t promise miracles.” “Thats all I’m asking stick to our arrangement and all your secrets are safe with me.” I swallow hard and nod. “Come on, it's a long walk to my place.” I nod and he pulls me away from the school and we head to the south side which is where the rich assholes live and once we arrive at the three story house in pristine condition with pristine lawns I realise then he’s one of the rich assholes. I should’ve known I’ve heard his mother is the head of the school his twin brother attends. He opens the door and pulls me in closing it behind him. “Let’s go to my room.” “It’s quiet.” “No one's here.” “So why are we going upstairs?” “I like privacy, it helps me to concentrate.” “Bu..” He glares at me, shutting me up instantly. “No buts Arden, my house my rules.” He pulled me up the stairs without me saying another word. He drags me into the furthest room on the left which I assume is his room. He closes the door an£ I look around the big monstrosity of a bedroom it’s twice the size of mine with all up to date electronics and gizmos, rich people. He pulls me over to the bed and I almost fall down. He empties his books onto the bed. “So where do you want to start?” I ask hesitantly. “Well we’ve got a few weeks to complete the project so let’s start with English, maths then silence.” “Okay.” He grabs his English book and we go through it question by question, before the front door closes. He sighs. “I guess Tate is home.” “Do you want to stop?” “No if we’re lucky he’ll go to his room and not bother us.” “Okay.”
