Arden
I managed to slip from under Langdon and get dressed. I slipped out of his basement and home before my mother noticed that I was even missing. Not that she would even notice if I stayed out all night.
She never seems to give a s**t what to do as long as I get good grades. I managed to get the morning after pill this morning and took it. I stayed out of the house. I don't need mom questioning me about my whereabouts last night. I sit on the bench in the park alone, it’s nice and peaceful out here.
The bench creaks and I know my peace has been broken. I hear a broken sigh and look to my left only to see Cayson sitting inches away from me. “Cayson?”
He looks at me, his eyes were blood shot like he’s been crying all night. I didn't think he lived this close. “Arden.” He says with a broken voice.
“Are you okay Cayson?”
He shakes his head. His fists clenched like he’s about to punch someone. I scoot over. “I wanted to thank you for saving me last night but you really should’ve.”
“Why not? We're friends.”
I swallow hard and fight the tears. “Really?”
He nods sincerely.
“What are you here Cayson? I thought you would still be with Tate.”
“So did I but he’s an asshole. I thought I meant something to him but o was wrong he’s like every other bully out for himslef and f**k everyone around him.”
I placed my arm around him to comfort him. He dropped his head on my shoulder. “What happened?”
“I say him with his tongue down another guy's throat. I honestly thought he was better than that . I assumed we had something but I was just another hole to fill. I wish I never stood up to him now.”
“It’s okay Cayson, not everyone is scared of a bully.”
“But I was. I had no idea who he was, the things he did to me, made me do.”
He sniffled, his tears wetting my hoodie. I knew how he felt. I've been bullied for years now. I have to put up with the biggest one of them all so he can get through high school. “We all do dumb things Cayson.”
“You’re not dumb Arden.”
“Oh believe me I am. I made the biggest mistake of my life one I can't take back.”
“It can't be that bad.”
“I got stupidly drunk and spent time with a guy I hate.”
“That doesn’t sound stupid to me, I do it every day.”
“The stupidest part of the night I allowed myself to get drunk and he took something away from me that I wanted to hold on until the right time.”
“You didn’t let Tates’ brother f**k you?”
“I wish I hadn’t we hate each other. At least it won’t be all over school tomorrow.”
“You're lucky. I don’t get that privilege.”
“I’m sorry Cayson. I guess most of them were from your school?”
He nods. I pull him closer. This is the closest I’ve ever felt to anyone. I don't even feel this close to my own mom.
Langdon
My head’s banging like a base drum. What the f**k hapepend last night, and why the hell am I in the basement bedroom.
I look around seeing no signs of anyone at least I didn't do anything stupid. I roll over and smell a sweet scent of strawberries. The only one I know who smells like strawberries is…
Fuck
Arden. No no no. I never let anyone down here. How much did I have to drink last night? I never bring chicks down here. The guys don't even come down here. How could I have been so f*****g stupid. I remember going to find her to apologise but not much after.
The pounding in the door gives me a headache. Who the f**k found my secret spot. I’m sure Arden wouldn’t tell anyone. The lock clicks f**k.
Shouting follows heavy thudding which could only mean one thing someon picked my f*****g lock.
Fuck. I’ll need to get a new one. The guys tumble into the room. “What the f**k didn’t you tell us about this place?”
“Cause it’s private for a f*****g reason.”
They sniff the air. “It smells like s*x in here.”
I pale, they can’t find out.
“So who's the lucky girl?”
“I can't remember I was too drunk.”
They all grin. “You dirty dog.”
I can't let them know I go right h Arden down here by all accounts. If it smells liem s*x in here does that mean I f****d ehr last night? s**t f**k dod I even use protection?
I’m suddenly feeling sick. “You should leave guys. I'm not feeling too good.”
“It’s all the booze bro.”
“No, I really feel sick.”
I dart out of the room, hand over my mouth until I get to the bathroom and empty the contents down the toilet.
Monday
Arden
I managed to avoid Langdon all day . I had met up with Pyper and told her what had happened at the party, well not everything I didn't want her to know how stupid I had been with Langdon and how I let my guard down letting him have s*x with me. I can’t believe that I let him take my virginity. I’ll never live this down.
I need to stay as far away from him as possible but unfortunately for me I don't get that pleasure because he’s waiting for me before my next lesson. I look at him walking past.
“We need to talk, Arden.”
I roll my eyes and sigh. Can this day get any worse? “What do you want, Langdon? I've got a lesson and so have you.”
“This won’t take long.”
“Sure what is it?”
“Not here.”
I go to protest as he grabs my wrists and pulls me with him into the closest un occupied room. He closes the door and looks at me.
“What is it, Langdon? I don't like being late for lessons.” I ask, irritated.
“Have you told anyone about the party?”
So this is what all the fuss is about. I scoff, this is ridiculous. “No I haven’t.”
“Good. I don't need people knowing that I let you into my hideout or that we…”
“We what?”
“You know?”
“No I don't, I think you’ll have to spell it out.”
“We had sex.”
“Did we? I don't remember that part.” I lied.
He lets out a relieved breath. “Good keep it that way I don't want anyone finding out I have a rep to protect.”
“Of course you do. Well, whatever happened, or didn't, your secret is safe with me.”
He lets out a relieved sigh.“Thanks. I’ll see you after school.”
“Bu..”
“You’re still tutoring me Arden, there's no getting out of it.”
Shit. “Fine.” I sigh.
He smiles letting go of my wrist. “I’ll go first, don't want anyone thinking I’m with the nerd do we?”
“I guess we don’t.” I said coldly, what a fuckin jerk off.
He opened the door making sure that the coast was clear before stepping out. I followed shortly after and legged it to class and sat down before the teacher noticed I was late.
