Payoff:
It took time for Helena to decipher what had happened. They’d been lucky. Most of the workers had been dismissed while the angels worked getting the stone loaded into the gas containment section. Mister Wizard and Deirdre had locked themselves in the workshop once the screaming started. Angus was one of the first to fall. Helena was unsure why he was there, but his death was a blow to her. He’d become a good friend and ally. Annie would be crushed.
The angels described what happened to Deirdre, and she translated to Helena best she could. Ross had been more than a servant. Her aunt was devastated by his death, even if she did her best not to show it. The angels used their gas to stop Sister Ping and her rampage. Ross tackled her trying to stop her. This is where things got fuzzy.
