Chapter 10: The Glass Lake
Roshène’s head throbbed, a fierce banging as thousands of tiny creatures inside her brain decided to have a drum fest. She lay on her side, her body hurting. Where was she? Why were her wrists and ankles tied to the side of the bunk bed? Zelo did this when…a wall of terror rose, locking her in and she screamed and screamed.
“Stop that!” Hunter slapped her and she stiffened in shock. “I’m undoing the ropes, and it’s easier if you don’t struggle.”
She calmed as memory returned and watched his strong nimble fingers loosen the ties. “You could have used a spell. You hurt me. Again.”
