Chapter 29

“Am letting you love me,” Danny. Their lips crashed, hungry for each other. Blake's lips on her sent shivers down her body. As their kiss deepened, Blake wrapped his arms around her. He was pressing her closer to him. Danny wrapped her hand around his neck. She was burying her fingers into his hair. Blake was on top of her, his hand between her legs. Her breath hitches as Blake kisses her abdomen, the valley between her breast and her neck as he removes her hoodie. Danny moans as Blake kisses the nape of her neck. Blake is mustering all his control not to mark her. "Blake," Danny whimpers under his touch. "Blake," Danny whispers again; she stirs and wakes up. Catching her breath, her hands checked if she still had her hoodie, which she did. She turns to find Blake in a deep sleep next to her. She could feel her cheeks burning as she must have gone red. She was embarrassed to have a wild dream with Blake. She gingerly got out of bed. "I need some air" She giggles as she brushes her hair off her face. She looks back to Blake and nods. “Yes, I really need some air.” Still a little flushed from her wild dreams of Blake, Danny sits by the kitchen counter. She was pouring herself a hot chocolate cup when Lucas entered the kitchen. “Can’t sleep?” Lucas ask “Something like that,” Danny replies as she sips her hot chocolate. “You want some?” “Sure” Lucas takes a cup from the counter and sits across the counter from Danny. He slides a coffee mug towards her. “Where’s Blake?” Lucas asked “still asleep” Danny poured the hot chocolate for Lucas into a cup. As Danny handed Lucas the cup, Lucas took her hand instead. “Dans am sorry. We should have come back sooner.” He meant every word, how his heart bled for her. A pang of anger towards Blake for abandoning her. But they were children back then. If they stayed, would he have known what to do? Would he have shunned her away like Blake? “It's not your fault Luc. My only request is that you guys don’t be weird around me.” Danny looks at Lucas as she gives him a weak smile. “Weird? Why, what’s so special about you that I should be?” He smirks at Danny. “Thanks, Luc,” Danny smiles back. “So, what’s with you and Blake?” Lucas asked. A tint of jealousy in his voice. “You don’t beat around the bush, do you?” Danny smiled at Lucas as she shook her head. “I never did.” He arched his eyebrow as he continued, “You know he loves you.” “He did say.” Danny replied, biting her upper lip, “But?” “But? You're not sure how you feel for him?” Lucas asked "Something like that" She looked at Lucas. Their hands are still intertwined as she bites her lower lip. "I need time, you know." "I know" Lucas smiled at Danny. “I just hope you don’t pressure yourself and allow things to run their course, and if someone..” “Someone what? Danny was confused at his statement. Their hands intertwined as a comfortable silence enveloped them. Something with how they held hands stirred something inside of Danny. "Luc.." Danny whispers "Dans," Lucas held her hand tightly; he leaned in as Danny followed suit. Danny stops and looks away, pulling her hand from Lucas. “Luc. Am sorry” “No am sorry.” Lucas straightened himself and started walking out of the kitchen. Not wanting to leave her but he knew this was for the best. Tonight may not be the best time to tell her how he truly felt. Something inside Danny wanted to stop him, but she was unsure what she was feeling. Moments later, Danny is sitting by the porch steps looking out into the garden. Her world felt like it was spinning off-axis. She even momentarily forgot about the pains from her recent injuries. The sting for her side sent her back to reality. “What the f**k, Danny” She scolded herself. “You have one goal, and that’s happening soon. You can’t distract yourself now.” Danny sighed as she buried her face in her hands. “This” She taps the side of her abdomen as the pain shoots up, making her shiver in pain. “This is real. Don’t forget who you are and what your after.” She talked to herself as she quickly wiped a tear from her cheek. “Justice,” She whispers. “Who are you talking to?” Jacob calls out to Danny from the doorway that’s behind her. “No one just rambling to myself.” She turned around to face Jacob. She leaned on the post behind her. She noticed that Jacob was holding a thick blanket. He walked up to her and placed the blanket on her. “I saw you and thought you must be freezing your ass off” He smirked as he sat next to her. “You know you can talk to me about anything, right?” He nudged his shoulder to hers. “Thank you, Jacob.” Danny smiles. She loved Jacob as a brother, and Jacob loved her as a sister. “You’ll always be the unofficial Crowley sister. You know that, right.” “Always.” Danny smiles “So what did my stupid brother do that’s got you all in deep thought.” Danny coughed accidentally, surprised by Jacob’s question. “No..nothing,” She said as she cleared her throat. “Right.. just like Blake hasn’t professed his love for you.” Jacob looks at Danny “What?” Danny wasn’t that surprised that Jacob wouldn’t beat around the bush. He's always been the big brother she never had. And when they were little, he could almost tell when Danny was hiding something from him. “Can we talk about something else?” Danny shook her head. “Just a piece of advice, don’t let any of them pressure you into doing something you are not ready for. Suppose you're still unsure of your feelings. So let it be. Take things slowly, and it will come.” Danny opened and closed her mouth, dumbfounded by his advice of Jacob. She didn’t realize that he noticed how things were going on. But what was really going on, she asked herself.
