Chapter 12

“I have never wanted anyone else,” Danny His lips crashed against hers in a sizzling hot kiss. She gasped in shock, pleasure erupting through her body. An involuntary moan escapes her lips her eyes flutter shut. She couldn’t believe this was happening. Her mind said she must stop, but her heart wanted him. Blake’s lips ignited a burning desire within her; her lips moved in sync to his. He pushed her up against the nearest locker, pressing his body against her, and he was rewarded with a soft moan. Her breast crushed against his hard chest, her hands on his shoulders. He tasted way better than she imagined, and he wasn’t wrong that she would be f*****g delicious. A low groan escaped him as he throbbed against her stomach; his tongue ran along her plush lips, making Danny suddenly freeze. Her heart thundering in her chest, she summoned all her strength and pushed him away. “What are you doing?” She shouted; shock and embarrassment coursed through her. He kissed her, and she kissed him back. Blake licked his lips, looking at her; she had kissed him back. That was the only thing that was going through his mind. “I did give you the option to stop me, but you didn’t, so I thought you wanted it as much as I wanted to” Blake's smooth velvety voice tempted her. Danny’s cheeks were flushed despite the glare he gave him. “I didn’t think you would go through with it.” She hissed. “Danny calms down…it was just a kiss,” Blake said, he didn’t mean to sound cocky but wanted her more, and this is the only way he knew how to mask his emotions from her. Yet the cocky remark hurt Danny. She hated that she gave into Blake’s charms. She was right. This was all he wanted. Another name to add to the girls he’s conquered in school. It was all a setup, and she fell for it. Blake could see how his words affected Danny. He could see her eyes look away, her lips curl into a frown. Every change in her reaction. How he wished he never said it. And instead told her the truth. “Friends don’t kiss each other for no reason Blake.” She spat, “And we’re not even friends at the very least.” She didn’t mean to Blake, but he has hurt her before. “Chill, why are you so angry? Is it cause you liked it?” He knew he couldn’t tell her the truth, so he instead just be the jerk she expected him to be, crossing his arms. Danny froze, her face paling. He watched her – he was not sure she had—if she said yes – then what? No, she was right. This was a f*****g mess. Danny knew they just crossed a line that would be hard to go back to. “No, I didn’t. I’m 18 am supposed to have raging hormones. Besides..” Danny lowered her voice, “I’ve never kissed anyone before.” Blake’s heart did a summersault; she’s never kissed anyone, meaning PETEY isn’t her boyfriend. He smiled at her as he took a step forward, wanting to claim those lips he had just tasted. He tried to tell her how he felt for her. “You mean am your first kiss?” Blake’s voice was smooth and comforting. She should be hating him right now, but her heart was betraying her. It was only wanting him more. No, I am not going to fall for Blake Conner. She told herself Danny takes a step back, only hitting the locker behind her. “And you took that away from me,” she whispers. Her eyes filled with rage as she locked eyes with Blake. “Are you now done? Is the prank over? Is this what you were after? To kiss the last girl you haven’t kissed in school?” She wanted to leave, but Blake placed his hands on the locker door on either side of her shoulder. “What else do you want, CONNER” Her voice lave with contempt “First stop it with the Conner bullshit. You used to call me Blake. Second of all this isn’t what you think. I know I’ve been a jerk to you all these years. I know I’ve let you down so many times before. But that kiss was real for me as it was for you.” Blake wanted to tell her how he felt, but the consequences for his pack were too dire. “Seriously? Connor, do not tell me you suddenly like me? Those things only happen in books.” She let out a deep breath as she shrugged. “Dans, please hear me out. Am sorry for hurting you.” Danny remained silent, unsure how to react to his apology. Before she could speak, a voice interrupted them. “I think she said to let her go” It was Pete’s low voice coming from the entrance of the corridor. “This is none of your f*****g business,” Blake said, not even turning to face him. “When it comes to Dans, then it’s my f*****g Business” Pete’s voice laced with anger, “Now be a good boy and let her go before I bash your head in.” Danny could sense the aura of Blake change; she couldn’t tell what it was. But it was the same aura he projected when he asked Cade and Claire to leave. It was solid and intimidating, but it made her feel safe. Something she hasn’t felt for a long time. But based on Pete’s anger, she knew the hothead would fight Blake. Blake may be a varsity player and has the right muscles. But he would be no match to a 27-year-old ex-marine. Shouldn’t she want Pete to bash his face? The same one that just stared when she got bullied, the same one who left her alone that night she needed him. The same one who mocked her just now after they kissed. So what was she suddenly protecting him? Oh, Daniella gets it together, she told herself. It’s just hormones; she convinced herself. Before Blake could argue any further with Pete, she went under one of the arms pinning her in place and stood in front of Blake. “I was just leaving,” she says nonchalantly to Pete. “The hell you are? You still need your hand checked.” Blake tells Danny as he tries to get her attention. Danny was trying her best not to turn around and face Blake. Now that she has tasted him, the need for Blake inside her grew more assertive. Before Blake could take a step toward Danny, Pete was already by her side. Pete Checked out her hand. “Dammit, Dan you dislocated your index finger.” As soon as he says it, he pops it back in place. Causing Danny to scream in pain. “Blake rushed to her side, but as soon, Pete just ignored him and still caressed her hand to help with the swelling. “f**k, Sake Pete. Next time give me a countdown at least” She takes her hand from Pete and cradles it next to her chest. “Let me at least bring you to a hospital to have it properly cast” Blake was controlling every ounce of his emotion not to rip Pete’s throat out for causing Danny pain even. Danny found Blake’s possessiveness strange. He was acting like a scorned lover seething with jealousy over Pete. She can’t deny how it made her feel things she didn’t want to, especially towards Blake Connors. “No need; Pete can cast this for me at home.” “You have a casting kit at home?” “So?” Danny retorts, diverting the topic, worried she might spill too much of her training. The fact that she could break the nose of one of the most prominent lacrosse players might send Blake some cues. She’s hoping that their little kiss made him forget all about it. “Hello, First aid, doesn’t everyone have first aid kits?” She says matter of factly. “And besides, it isn’t like I haven’t wrapped you up one too many times before, Dans.” Pete chuckles. Danny glares at Pete, worried that Blake would catch on. Blake notices her heart racing and her anxious demeanor. “Wait, what?” Blake cuts in “It’s none of your business Blake.” Danny quips, “Pete, let’s go” “Dans, you just can’t leave,” Blake calls to her Pete turns to face Blake annoyance is written all over his face, “And why is that BOY?” “I am not talking to you; what was it? Pete?” He rolls his eyes, avoiding an altercation with the man. “Dans, we need to talk about what just happened?” “And what just happened?” Pete asked “Again, not you am talking to,” Blake pinches his nose, trying to control his emotions. “There is nothing to talk about. Pete is not worth it lets go” Danny knew her word would hurt Pete, yet she still said it. And it pulled her as much as she knew it would hurt him.
