“ I feel my possessiveness take control around you, “ Blake.
- Present time -
“I still can’t believe that Danny wouldn’t want to see us?”
Jacob says as he brushes back his blonde hair that reached his shoulder.
“She’s busy tonight, maybe tom,” Blake lied; he hadn’t asked her
as all their encounters, it seems, have all been eventful one way or the other.
The Crowle twins have arrived from London after spending the
last six years in boarding school. Both Jacob and Lucas are taller than him
now. Both are well built, while Lucas is lean, Jacob. On the other hand, he was
very muscular.
The twins were the exact opposite in personalities. Lucas was
more reserved, while Jacob was a wild card. Blake can imagine the amount
of trouble Jacob got while in boarding school.
“So, how was boarding school?” Blake tries to change the topic.
They’ve just finished dinner at a local restaurant when Jacob suggested they go
to a pub to enjoy their reunion.
Blake was also trying to ignore that they were headed to the
club where Danny works.
“Boring,” Jacob quips while Lucas answers, “It was good.”
“Seriously, Blake, how’s Dans?” Dans was their nickname for her
in the middle. But hearing Jacob say it made him want to growl.
Ever since he has tasted her, it's been harder and harder to put
her off his mind. The mate bond grows stronger each day. He has toyed with the
idea of not rejecting her.
What would happen?
Would Mr. Matthew make suitable his promise? Or will he allow
his daughter her happiness?
She felt the mate bond, too; Blake was sure of it. He felt it in
the way she kissed him back. The sparks exploded between them. But it’s
known that humans feel the mate bond differently than wolves. For wolves, it
affects them physically not to be with their mates. It was more of a feeling of
attraction for humans that they can’t explain towards that person.
“Hey, mate, are you good?” Lucas breaks Blake’s trance.
“Ah yeah, she’s ok, a bit of a loner, likes being by herself.
She is brilliant, though; she is graduating this year and taking advanced
classes. They have moved thou at her grandparent's farmhouse at the edge of
town.”
“I can imagine that she wouldn’t want to continue living in the
place where her mom was murdered,” Lucas says as he focuses on
driving down the main avenue.
“Loner, huh,? So that means you don’t hang out with her?” Jacob
interrogates him.
Fuck, would he be able to like his childhood friends?
These twins were like a brother to him. But if they knew the
truth, he would have allowed his new circle of friends to bully her. That he
spent the past six years ignoring her, would they even still consider him their
friend?
Just thinking about it made him feel disgusted with himself. Yet
was there another way? When it’s the safety of his pack at stake?
Before Blake could answer, Lucas interrupted, “We're here,
folks.”
And there they were at the exact location he dreaded. He didn’t
want the twins to see Danny, but he wasn’t sure if she wanted to see him after
this afternoon. Or if he would be able to control himself around her. He hoped that she was not on duty tonight due to her broken hand.
Later that evening –
It’s been a couple of hours, and Danny was nowhere in sight.
Blake was starting to ease into his time with the twin. A rowdy Bachelor party
was happening in one of the booths, making them want to leave.
The twins and Blake decided that it was time to go. Blake was
almost at the clear until there it was, Danny’s scent. Blake froze as she
watched her. In her oversized yellow overalls as she wheels walk towards the
booth.
“What the f**k, You never told us she worked here?” Jacob
quickly called out her name, “DANS!”
But the noise from the music of the Club plus the rowdy drunk
men at the booth made it impossible to hear each other. Blake doesn’t try to
answer Jacob’s question. His eyes were glued to Danny.
Blake also noticed she had her headset on. Seeing her walk
towards the drunk men made his blood boil. He could hear the catcalls; that’s
it, he says as he’s about to walk over to the booth; the unthinkable happened,
one of the men slapped Danny’s ass.
Blake growls before anyone can protest. He was right behind
her. Danny turned quickly, about the strike the man. But she only
met my chest; I could hear her heart racing but not because of anger.
Could it be because of me?
She was also calming from my soft touch as I placed my hand on
her shoulder.
I could see her bandaged hand and already cursing “PETEY” for
doing her work tonight with her broken hand.
He felt calm when Danny placed her hand on his chest. Before
they could have a moment together, the man who slapped Danny’s ass called
for her. Blake wanted nothing more but to rip the man’s throat. But he was
human, so maybe just some broken bones would teach him a lesson.
He knew he was escalating things, He could have quickly walked
out of the club with Danny, but he didn’t care. Nor did he care what Petey
would think if he broke one of his customer’s hands.
Blake quickly turned around and placed Danny behind
him—protecting her from the man now throwing a punch towards them.
He caught the punch mid-air, twisting the man’s hand as he
screamed in pain. His canines almost peeked out as he crushed the man’s hand.
Danny tried to peek behind him, but he only moved himself to keep her safe
behind him.
Some of the man’s friends decided to join the fight, and one of
them was about to lunge at Blake. That’s when Jacob stepped in and punched the
man. Lucas was later next to Jacob, finding the other drunk men from the
party.
Some of the men stumbled to other customers, and before you knew
it, customers who were intoxicated was fighting amongst themselves.
Blake took this as a cue to take Danny out of the club. But
before he could turn to her, she quickly ducked from under him and ran towards
a man heading towards them. She hits the man right across the face with her
broom, knocking him out.
He felt proud of her for a tiny human she could fight.
“A perfect Luna, she will make our pack stronger,” His wolf says
“Not now,” he scolded his wolf. His only thought now was to get
her out of the club.
He saw her jump into Jacob’s arms as
she shouted his name as he walked towards her. “JACOB f*****g CROWLE”
She was ecstatic to see him. As Jacob placed her down, Lucas was
behind her.
Seeing her sandwiched in between the twins got him so jealous.
Easy now, he told himself. They are all friends, friends! Right?
“She is ours. Get your ass there,” His wolf commanded.
He paused before taking a step forward as he saw her wrap her
arms around Lucas's waist and rest her head on his chest.
“Lucas,” She whispered.
She doesn’t see them for 6years. They left her right after her
mom’s funeral. They also haven’t sent any word to her for six years. They see
you reach each other for one second, and THEY ARE GETTING HUGS! He muttered in
a jealous tone.
Seething with jealousy, he walked toward them.
“I see you still get yourself in trouble, Miss,” Lucas laughs.
“Well, only because the two of you are here!” She shouted over
the commotion. The fight no longer involved just them and the Bachelor party.
Everyone in the bar was fighting each other. For one reason or another, but
mainly because of alcohol.
“Our cue to go?” Blake huffs, clearing his throat; he feels Danny
tense a little. “Or do you need to finish your shift?”
“Nah, Screw it. The Crowle twins are here besides Pete owes me.”
She smirks, “Just let me get out of my uniform and punch out, ok. But you three
need to leave now. Could you wait for my outback? Go before the police come.”
She shouts over the loud noise.
Blake and the twins nodded and went out of the pub.
