Chapter 10

1257 Words
“Is she meant to be mine?” Blake Before reaching the cabin, Danny felt a movement behind the bushes as both heard a low growl. Who the f**k is that besides her? How dare he stand protective of her. The wolf wanted nothing more than to rip the neck of the man named Pete. How dare he stand in front of her protectively. Blake spat. Then again, he knew it was his fault for startling them. He didn’t mean to go too close, but he couldn’t stop his wolf, not after PETEY pulled up Danny’s hoodie. How dare him to touch what is mine, his wolf growled. “Not ours yet, and ...” Blake replied to his wolf, trying to regain control. “Don’t you dare say it, you lousy human!” His wolf responded. His wolf has been prancing in his head ever since he smelled his mate’s scent. He wants nothing more than to mark her, mate her and claim what is his. It mainly took all of His energy to control his wolf. It is said that the wolf is a double consciousness that lives inside of the man. A harmony is needed for the man to retain his humanity. Yet A wild longing for strong emotions and sensations seethes in each werewolf—a rage against this the animal and the man. “Why have you kept her from me?” The wolf asked Blake. “I didn’t know you knew; you felt her too.” “But not in my true form.” The wolf replied. “You know why? We are the future Alpha. WE need to think of our pack. Even if it means….” “Our sacrifice,” The wolf howled as it felt its heartbreak. To exhausted from battling for control with his wolf. The wolf stayed retreated deeper into the forest line before it fell into slumber. Suddenly its ears perked up as it smelled the sweetest smell. It was his mate, Daniella. The wolf stood and hid in the shadows. He didn’t need to look, but he could hear her humming as she walked towards him. Panic consumed Blake, worried that the wolf would want to reveal itself to her. But he didn’t. He hid more into the shadows and waited for her. Despite last night’s fiasco replying in his mind. “Petey save me from the possum,” Danny says between breath “Dans, stand behind me. I’ll protect you!” Pete laughs harder. Pete places him over her shoulders. “Come on, my lady, your food awaits!” “He called her DANS!” the wolf growled. “And she isn’t ours.” “But he placed his hands around her.” “Remember our Sacrifice,” He reminded his wolf. “Stop pretending human. I know your hurting too.” The wolf barked, “I could see all the scenarios playing in your head.” “I'll deal with that later.” Blake retort Finally, Danny’s scent was at its strongest. They spot her wearing the very same size hoodie she wore when she entered the cabin. She was now holding an eco-bag with what presumably looks like leftovers in one hand. While on the other hand she, was holding a huge piece of chocolate cake wrapped in a paper towel. AS she took another step, she took a bite. She was getting cake on her nose. She seemed not to mind and just continued walking while humming. As she passed them, they sniffed her scent and were released that there was no trace of another man’s scent. “At least nothing happened,” Blake tells the wolf “But it could have” Blake was silent. “Give me control and allow me to return to my form. Let me mend this.” “No. Not tonight, tonight allow me to bask in her sight and her scent.” Blake agreed. He knew that going against his wolf would only make him more aggressive next time. Maybe if he allows today, it will ease the pain for his wolf once he rejects Danny. Could he even reject her? And who was Pete to her? Jealousy consumed Blake and his wolf. The wolf decided to follow her. He watched her swing her hips as she hummed a familiar song. While every so often, she would take a bite from her cake. Her scent intoxicated him as he followed her lead. Blake enjoyed watching her enjoy herself; It was the first time he saw her act like a typical teenager. And it hurt him more than it took Pete to get her to be in this mood. But what could he offer her? He thought AS the wolf followed her, he noticed they were taking a rather unusual path to the edge of town. It was early morning, and the sun was rising. Despite how early it was, it was apparent she was in no hurry to get home AS she would pause from time to time. She would stop and take a bite of her cake. Finally, she consumed the entire slice. She wiped the icing on the tip of her nose and chin. Something Blake was daydreaming of licking off the end of her button nose. And up to the side of her lips. Oh, how delicious she would taste. “And I am the one who needs to be controlled?” The wolf interrupted his daydream. After licking the icing off her finger, she looks up at the sky. It was one of those moments where night and day were melting together. She placed down the plastic of leftovers, and with her thumb and pointer finger, she made a rectangle. She aims it to the could formation above. “Click,” she mutters. Blake knew exactly what she was doing. She used to do it when they were younger. She was making memories. “Memory lasts longer than pictures,” Danny would always say to him and the twins before. After about an hour, they finally reached the edge of town. It was the side in the city where some old farmhouses stood. Danny walks up to the most beaten one. A small wooden gate leads to an old farmhouse with a barn. Danny reached over the low gate and unlocked it from behind. The gate creaks as it opens. Before walking into the path leading to the old house, she turned around to look at where the wolf was precisely hiding. Does she know we are here? The wolf and Blake asked each other. Impossible, they both replied. They hid well deep into the forest for any human to have noticed them. Danny turns and walks into the gate. Another creaking sound as she closed the gate. AS she walked up the path, Blake realized that Dany did not change. It was him, him choosing his pack and erasing her from his life in return. She still loved her chocolate cakes, old 80’s jams, her dungeons and dungeons shirts, and making memories. And it slowly broke his heart. “So, are you still going to?” The wolf asked “I can’t do it.” “You shouldn’t,” The wolf said, “Destiny is as old as time. Only you humans complicate it.” “But what about the truce with Mr. Matthews.” “Trust your gut, young Alpha.” The wolf says before he turns and runs through the forest heading back to Blake’s home.
