Elena Carter, a 24 years old lady, lived a simple life. She worked as an assistant editor at a small publishing company, spent time with her best friend Sophie, and tried not to think about the past.
Her father had disappeared when she was six. Her mother, Grace, always refused to explain what happened.
After Grace died, Elena stopped asking questions.
Until one evening, everything changed.
While leaving work, Elena noticed a black car parked across the street. She had seen it before, but this time, something felt different.
Her phone suddenly rang.
“Hello?”
A strange man's voice answered.
“Are you Elena Carter?”
“Yes. Who are you?”
“Stay away from Adrian Blackwood.”
Elena froze.
“Who?”
The call ended.
CHAPTER 1
The next morning, she found a black envelope on her desk.
Inside was an old photograph of Elena as a child, standing beside her mother.
But there was a mysterious man in the background.
On the back, four words were written:
HE HAS FOUND YOU.
Underneath was a name.
Adrian Blackwood.
Elena stared at the photograph, unaware that somewhere across the city, Adrian was staring at her too.
And he had been waiting for her for years.
