He put the bill in the drawer, withdrew a few others and pocketed them. She took a pull of the beer and set it down then followed its descent onto a bar stool herself. She smiled up at the older man who was now hovering near her from behind the counter. She read the name embroidered on his shirt, “I expected it to be busier in here Kevin.” He raised a brow at her as he picked up a glass to wipe it. “I work over at the plant.
