There’s no hiding it now. I think I’m about to see just how far I can push Alexander’s understanding.
“I was there,” I nearly whisper.
“You were where?” Alexander asks a little more forcefully. I can feel my wolf within wanting to submit as his tone shifts.
“Outside Tomson Murray’s home.”
Alexander stares me down. “I killed Tomson Murray,” he says. He doesn’t sound remorseful anymore.
My muscles tighten and contract, flexing in case I need to run. I don’t know how mad Alexander’s going to get. I keep glancing at his eyes in case they start to turn purple.
In case he starts losing control of his wolf.
“You were in the palace. With Emma,” he says. “I remember you were here when I got back.”
I don’t dare allow any tears to flood my eyes. I need to be able to see him if he lung
