She moved the sheet back over his face, then reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. I watched as she swiped her thumb across the screen.
“See, here’s Uchida Senior,” she said as she swung the phone close to my face.
It was a snapshot of the picture Burns had taken. The picture showed Bennett and Uchida Senior on the beach near the airstrip in Sully Island. From their gestures you could tell they were talking. Behind the two of them stood the beach house, with two young white females hanging out nearby. The females’ faces were a little difficult to make out, but I was sure I’d never seen them before. The two girls appeared to be smiling and enjoying themselves.
