Chapter 15 - The Spider Queen

1378 Words
The man was dressed in a full set of heavy armor. In his hand was a huge two-handed sword. He looked at the boys with the angry eyes of a hungry beast and quietly repeated the question. "What are you doing here? How did you come so far?" "We're just tourists, sir," Tom replied. "We are speleology students from the university. We were able to walk this far because we know how to move our feet. Step left, step right, step left, and step right. Top, top, top."  The man's face grew sterner. At that moment Dan Raven realized that this assassin was ready to tear them to pieces with his bare hands.  "Are you kidding me? Okay," the man squinted his eyes. "For tourists, I have a great suggestion of a local attraction. You can make a top top into that tunnel over there. You can watch the dungeon boss, suckers." "Thank you, sir, we'll take a look at that boss. We're interested," whispered Dan. The partners made their way into the indicated tunnel. As they stepped back a few paces, Dan poked the clone in the side. "What were you fooling around for? It's a military man! You can tell it's an assassin. He could cripple us with one spit," whispered Dan. "Don't forget about Karma! I mean it, Dan Raven. Don't ever forget about Karma and keep your cool!" Tom smiled. "Dungeon boss! They were afraid to mess with the boss! Come quickly, I can't wait to see what bosses are like in this game."   A few minutes later the friends saw what kind of bosses there are in the game. A tunnel led to the entrance to a large, empty room. The room had a high ceiling with icicles of glowing stalactites hanging from it. In the semi-darkness of the far wall of the cave, a tall figure of a terrible creature was visible. It was a creature in which the features of a woman and a spider were mixed. Den Raven immediately recalled an example from fantasy mythology. Lolth!  Queen of Spiders, Queen of the Demonweb Pits, Dark Mother, Mother of Lusts, The Lady of Chaos, Spider b***h, Weaver of Destiny. Lolth is a great figure in the fantasy pantheon. The creature in the cave had no more spider body than the average dungeon spider. But where the spider had its head, this creature grew the body of a n***d woman. The body started from her belly and Dan swallowed when he saw that the figure of this vile creature was very beautiful and seductive. The boss's face was striking in its beauty and correctness of features. But the expression of malice and cruelty took away any desire to get close to this monster. The biggest shock for the player was that he could see a full description of the boss without even entering into battle with him.   [Spider Queen. (Animal.) Small Boss Level: 5 Life: 500 Damage: 6-19 + 6 poison damage in 2.4 seconds (2.6/sec.) Skill: Poisoning. 100-200 poison damage in 32 seconds (3.1-6.3/sec.) The spider queen gained strength and power after devouring her servants. She is not only powerful but also poisonous. Each strike of the Spider Queen inflicts poison damage. The Spider Queen has a lethal bite. Despite her weak defense, the Spider Queen never retreats and can use her web to slow enemies. The Spider Queen regenerates health 50% faster than normal monsters. Beware of the Spider Queen's poisonous bite!]    "Is your little dan awake yet? Is he up?" Tom poked Raven in the side. "i***t! No man's d**k would go up on an ugly girl like that," snickered Dan. "But the breasts are gorgeous. Big! And it's only Small Boss," grumbled the clone. "Don't waste your time and don't question the game. I'll answer the main questions for you. Small Boss means she doesn't have any special super skills. But all of her attributes are equal. Look for yourself, she has 500 life and level 5. So she's got 5 strength and 5 dexterity and 5 intellect. This thing doesn't even hide its power!" "Every hit is minus 15 health points. And the Danger of Poisoning is up to 200 damage in half a minute. Congratulations, brother. Now you're going on a suicide attack for sure. She'll eat you up," whispered Dan. "Get ready to get the exclusive experience of my death," grinned Tom. "We have one more important detail. She's of the spider kind. This pathetic semblance of Lolth restores not 10 points of health but 15 points in 10 minutes!"  Phantom turned from looking at his partner. "Dan Raven how much experience do you have?" "52,671," the player replied. "We killed 17 spiders along the way. I got 1,650 experience points and you gave me 108 for 6 spiders." "Great! You can buy a lot of swords," whispered the clone. "Let's go away and you'll eat. Then you will go to sleep. I will guard your dreams. In the morning we will begin the battle with the Queen." Dan chewed meat and drank fresh, delicious water. But the food was not enjoyable. The player listened to the clone's plan and was not enthused. It occurred to the player that the word Clone came from the word Clown. Clone's plan was strange. First, the phantom forbade Dan to risk his life. This opponent is not a case where you can rely on your strength. Secondly, the phantom said that killing the Queen is possible and quite easy. Does she restore 15 health points in 10 minutes? That's great. You have to deal her more than 15 damage points per fight! If the phantom manages to deal 4 hits before dying, then 10 minutes later Dan can summon a new clone to deal 4 hits again.  The main problem is that Dan has to constantly spend experience points to buy a new sword for each new clone! The old katana will fall next to the boss. A katana costs 120 experience points. Dan has an experience reserve for a 433 sword! Spending experience buying armor for a clone makes no sense. It's important to land a few blows before you die.  Powerful Blow gives +3 points of damage and +12% of 7 points of sword damage. Two blows can do 22 points of damage! Phantom was sure that even without protection he couldn't be killed in 1 second!   Of course, the Queen has protection! But even to spiders, they did 7 to 11 points of damage. Third, Dan Raven should prepare for a long and boring time! The battle could drag on for several hours. And it will be a disgustingly boring time. Dan will sit and regenerate mana to summon a clone that will quickly be killed in a couple of claw strokes. Then the player will regenerate mana again to summon a new suicidal one. "I hope we make it in ten hours," Tom said. "You'll last twenty-four hours without sleep, too. But I'm sorry to waste your experience buying hundreds of swords." "We'll sell the extra swords to the store," grumbled Dan. "Here's what I'm thinking, partner. We've got 1 point of attributes for free distribution. Let's increase strength! I think increasing strength is a must for our style of play. There's no way we're going to get by without increasing Strength. Let's start increasing attribute now that every point of damage matters." Phantom scratched his chin. He saw no disadvantage in his friend's suggestion. But the clone wanted to have a reserve! Dan paid no attention to the clone's torment and looked at the attribute panel.   [Character: Dan (Human) Affiliated Location: Earth  Title: None Profession: None  Level: 3. 52 671/1500 Level 9 is available. "Alphonse Elric understood the nature of the world. Increase the Strength. And buy me a new katana right away!" The phantom winked at the player and rushed into a suicidal attack.
