The Name

"What's your name?" Damon asked as he stood in front of the quivering girl. His voice is calm and emotionless, it's cold.  But the way his eyes studied every inch of her body made her feel the opposite. What? She asked to herself. Why did it end up like this? Well you see, after the interesting first day, Damon went m.i.a. for the rest of the week. Today is the day the bidding will proceed, and he's back. Things happened fast and, for others, ungraspable. As soon as the bidding reopened, Damon offered one-fifty thousand. The money's already prepared and cashed out as if he already knew he'll win. Everyone looked at Yvonne with expectation but they're taken aback when she backed down. It's like Yvonne suddenly lost interest for the girl, and Damon now have the claiming glint in eyes that dared anyone to challenge him. So no one did. And now the two stood outside the classroom. He's facing the human who's more scared than ever before. Her breathing's shallow and unequal. Does she prefer Yvonne to win? Definitely not. But to be bought by Damon is nowhere near ideal either. Aside from his unknown plans, remembering that him just holding off a bidding attracted his worshipers towards her made her terrified on what's coming next. She trembled by just thinking about it. "Do you want me to repeat that?" he said in the same calm tone but now hinting frustration. She audibly gulped. One thing she was thought about is that these creatures doesn't like repeating themselves when talking to those lower than them. Damon's basically the highest while she's the lowest. So she opened her mouth to talk and Damon's hooding eyes immediately focused down to it. "Han..." she stammered, overwhelmed by everything. That despite studying the life of everyone in her class, Damon Knight remained an overwhelming mystery. That after all internal preparation, she's still overwhelmingly unprepared to be bought. And that in front of her stood a very good-looking man. Damon is overwhelmingly stunning. "H-Han..." her lips is shaking, and it's causing his eyes to darken even more. He's growing impatient. She thought while panicking at how mesmerized she is by his looks that it's affecting her ability to speak. "H-Hannah....." she finally said in what's barely a whisper. But he heard it very clearly as his eyes went up to hers. She immediately looked down to avoid his gaze, the last thing she want is to make him feel challenged. He grabbed her jaw, not harsh but rather gently, with one hand to raise her face and locking their eyes. Heat from his touch came rushing allover her body. "Hannah." he began, gold flashed in his eyes. "What a beautiful name." Beautiful indeed. His wolf added inside his mind. All the while, she couldn't help but be more captivated at how her name rolled off his tongue. That might just be the most perfect thing I've ever heard. She thought.
