Chapter 13: Nightmare

ANNA'S P.O.V

I woke up to find myself in my room. Weird, I thought I was in Nathan's car. I sat up and found myself still wearing the outfit from yesterday. I grabbed my phone to find 2 missed calls from Nick and 1 message from Nathan. I dialed Nick's number and waited for him to pick it up.

"Finally, hey there"

"Hey, I'm so sorry for not picking up your call last night, I went to sleep earlier" I said as I rubbed my eyes.

"It's fine babe, I understand. Did you sleep well last night?"

"I did. How are you? How's the competition?"

"I'm good. It went well and we're just waiting the announcement of the winner in the next hour"

"Aww I hope your team wins babe"

"Thanks babe, I really hope so too. Listen, I gotta shower now. We'll talk again later"

"Okay, call me when you're not busy"

"I will. Love you babe"

"Love you too"

And the call ended. I sighed and made my way to the bathroom. I did my daily routine again. Took a shower, brushed my teeth, got dressed, and made my way to the kitchen to have breakfast.

It's Sunday which means my parents will stay at home and we could possibly go out together. I reached the kitchen to find my mom has already had her breakfast.

"Morning honey" my mom greeted, smiling at me.

I looked at her, confused. They always wait for me to have breakfast together with them. I pulled out the chair and sat across my mom.

"Why didn't you wait for me?" I asked. There was a concern look in my mom's face. "And where is dad?"

"Honey, I'm so sorry. Both me and your father will stay in the hotel tonight" my mom began. I choked on my water. "Your father is very busy due to this new promotion in his office. He has 2 important meetings earlier tomorrow so he can't make it at home. Since your father's office is pretty far from here so I suggested him to stay in the hotel near his office tonight so he won't miss the meeting tomorrow. He agreed but he will need me to stay with him as well" she said.

"And you just leave me here alone?" I raised my eyebrows. How could they just leave me here alone?

"I'm sorry honey but we have no choice. I'll be going to see your father now. I promise I will be back tomorrow morning. Please will you stay?" she made a puppy face. This is why I can't say no to her.

I sighed. "Fine. But don't expect me to do all your laundry when you get home tomorrow" I rolled my eyes.

"I won't, I will do it all tomorrow. Well I gotta go honey, here's your breakfast. Don't forget to lock all the windows and doors if you go out. Don't bring or let random people here. Don't burn the house!" she told me all the detail things I should do.

"Yea yea I got it mom"

"Thanks my girl! Oh I left some money in my bed, in case you need anything. Bye honey, I will call you when I arrive" she kissed my cheek then left the house.

Here we go now. Home alone. The house was so quiet right now, I can even hear my own breaths. I turned my TV on to see if there's something good to watch. Just when I changed the channel..

"SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!!" I screamed, making me laugh at myself for being so childish and stupid over Spongebob Squarepants.

I took my plate and began to have my breakfast whilst watching Spongebob. It was the episode of Rock Bottom where Spongebob were stuck in that weird town, trying to find the way out to Bikini Bottom. I watched it for like an hour until it finished and I had nothing to watch again.

Now what?

I put the plate in the sink and began to get cold. It was sunny outside, why did I feel cold? My head felt so heavy and I couldn't see clearly. Okay what happened to me?

I laid on the sofa in the living room, holding my head as it began to hurt. No, please not now. Not the attack again. I wanted to call my mom but then she would be worried about me and came back home whilst dad needed her.

I took the blanket and wrapped it around my body. Damn, I felt so cold today and it's only 9 in the morning. Just when I was about to sleep, my phone vibrated. I took my phone to see that Nathan called me.

"Yeah?"

"Hey Ann- whoa are you okay?"

Is that so obvious?

"Erm not really good but otherwise I'm fin- hatchhuu" I sneezed.

I heard him chuckle. "Well that doesn't sound fine. Are you okay? Want me to come over?"

"No, no, I'm fine. Just got flu or something, not a big deal"

"You're a terrible liar, Ann. I'll be there in 5 minutes"

"No, wait Nat-"

And he hang up the phone. Great. He's coming here. It's not that I don't want him here, but I just don't want to bother anyone for being ill. I put my phone back on the table. I took a pillow and laid my head.

Just when I'm about to close my eyes, I heard a knock on the door. Must be Nathan. I groaned and got up to open the door. I still had the blanket wrapped around me as I walked to the door and opened it to find Nathan.

"That's what you called fine?" he raised his eyebrows, pointing at my blanket-burrito-body.

"Hello to you too Nathan" I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes. He just giggled. I let him in and locked the door.

I walked back to the living room and laid my head on the pillow again. Gosh I feel so not good. Nathan took a seat beside me, from the corner of my eye I saw him staring at me.

"You sure you just got flu?" he asked me. I just nodded slowly, felt so weak to even say a word to him.

Then I felt a hand touched my forehead, it was Nathan's hand.

"Jeez Anna you're boiling!" he freaked out. He then got up to my kitchen to find something, I don't know.

"Nath, I'm fine" it came out as a whisper, he probably didn't even hear that.

A minute later Nathan came back with a cloth and a cup. He sat down beside me and put those stuff on the table.

"Open your mouth" he held a thermometer and as I did what he said, he put it in my mouth. I don't even know we had that in the kitchen.

We waited for a minute until it's ticking. He took it from my mouth and saw that my temperature was 38,7. Damn that's hot.

"Come here" he took my hand and slowly help me to sit. He handed me a cup of tea. "Drink it. It's an apple tea, you will feel better"

And again, I didn't even know we had apple tea. How the hell Nathan find this stuff in my kitchen?

I took a sip of the tea, it was warm and nice. It tasted amazing. I drank a half of the tea then handed him the cup. He then grabbed the pillow and put it beside his lap, then told me to lay down so I did. He put the warm cloth on my forehead. I could feel the warm from the cloth, making me feel good.

"Sleep" he said softly. I just nodded and closed my eyes. Sleep is all I needed right now.

I began to feel that my body was much warmer than before. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep. I felt Nathan's left hand massaged my head softly whilst his right hand stroked my hair. I couldn't help but smiled at his affection.

Did his girlfriends feel his affection like this? Is he actually this lovely? I felt my eyes even heavier then I started to fall asleep.

NATHAN'S P.O.V

Anna is now fast asleep beside me. I'm not used to seeing the one I love got ill. I touched her forehead again but she's still warm. I watched as she's sleeping.

God why is she so stunning

She's definitely perfect in her way. I could hear her small snores. I massaged her forehead softly just so she would wake up with much better feeling.

Damn, I wish she was mine.

Her phone suddenly vibrated, I think it was a message. Anna didn't move any inches, probably didn't hear her phone's vibrated. I couldn't help but curious to see who texted her. I took her phone and saw the ID message, it was from Nick.

That guy

I have never liked that guy. He stole Anna from me. I envy that guy. He had the chance to do all those things to her. Kissing her soft lips, hugging her, calling her babe, telling her she is loved, and most of all.. Being the guy she loves.

I was in the middle of my thoughts when Anna grunted, moving her head slowly. I looked down at her and she slowly opened her eyes.

"Hey there sleepy head, how are you feeling?" I asked as she got up.

"Much better" she gave me a warm smile, making me smile back. I handed her the thermometer and waited to see her recent temperature.

"What is it?"

She pulled out the thermometer from her mouth and looked at it. "36 degrees" she smiled widely.

I sighed of relief. She's much better. She looked even healthier than before.

"Thanks Nath, for taking care of me. I honestly can't imagine what would happen to me if you were not here" she smiled at me.

"No problem. I'm always here if you need me" I winked, making her giggled. Then suddenly my stomach started screaming for food, yeah I'm starving.

She looked at me as she heard it and laughed at me. Oh my.. I'm embarrassed!

"You're hungry, let me cook you something" she stood up, pulling away her blanket and made her way to the kitchen.

I followed her. She opened the fridge and saw what she could cook. She took out some meats and vegetables. I watched as she began to slice them. She's still looking so beautiful when she cooks.

We enjoyed our lunch in her living room, sitting beside each other whilst watching Frozen. She told me that she loves Olaf so much, I chuckled to see how cute Anna is. I could just have kissed her already.

"Where are your parents?" I asked. Where are her parents though? It's Sunday, there's no way they are at works.

"They stay in a hotel tonight, my dad is going to have 2 meetings earlier tomorrow and his office is far from here so he has to stay at the hotel with my mom" she said, finishing the last bits of her lunch.

"So you're staying here alone? Aren't your scared?"

"Yep. I'm kinda scared but it's okay" she laughed nervously, obviously she's scared to be alone.

"I can stay the night with you, if you want" I said quietly, hoping that she won't hear it but I guess she did, because then she looked at me with wide eyes.

ANNA'S P.O.V

So Nathan stayed the night in my house. I was scared to be alone and he said he would be glad to stay with me tonight. I agreed though, I mean since Kelsey was on a trip with Tom I have no girl friends.

I told Nathan to sleep in my room while I sleep in my parents room. We said goodnight to each other and slept.

I opened my eyes to find no one else around me. But that voice kept calling me. I knew that voice. I knew whose voice it was.

Anna..

Why did you leave me..

I kept following where the voice came but I found no one to be seen.

You forgot about me..

You forgot about us..

You forgot about all the things we shared together..

I kept trying to find that voice. It seemed that I was running through the forrest. It was dark and so quiet. I had no idea what I was doing but I was still running.

"There you are"

I turned around to find.. him. There he was. That guy. The guy I fell in love since I was 14. The guy I spent 2 years of our relationship. He is back. It's him. Edward.

"Edward" my voice cracked.

I haven't seen him for 2 years. He hasn't changed. He is still Edward that I used to know. He's still my Edward.

"I miss you" I had tears in my eyes. I wanted to hug him, I wanted to tell him I haven't forgotten about him.

"No you don't. You don't miss me. You forgot about me, about us, about our relationship, our promise, everything" his voice was still the same.

"I don't. I never forget about you, about us. You're still in my heart"

I watched as he slowly walked away, as he hates me so much.

"Edward please come back" I begged, tears in my eyes.

"Goodbye Anna. Hope you're happy with your new life without me" he said and walked away.

"No, no, Edward! Come back, please! Edward!" I shouted his name, begging him to come back but he didn't return.

"Edward! Please come back.. Please!"

NATHAN'S P.O.V

I was on my phone, scrolling down my timeline as I couldn't sleep when I heard someone's screaming.

"No, Edward! Please come back"

Isn't that Anna's voice?

I got up from her bed and walked to her parents room. She kept screaming and I began to get scared. All I was thinking was someone broke into the house and hurt her. I ran quickly to her parents room, I opened the door to see Anna screaming and jerking in her sleep.

"Anna, Anna!" I shook her shoulder, tried to wake her up. She kept jerking and screaming, she had tears in her eyes.

What happened?

"Anna, wake up" I shook her once again, she opened her eyes. Tears streaming down her beautiful face.

"Nathan" she sat up and immediately hugged me. I was surprised at her move but I hugged her back. She was crying so hard, I guess she had a nightmare.

"Ssshh I'm here, everything's going to be okay" I stroked her hair, tried to comfort her.

"I'm scared"

"I'm here, I'm not going to leave you"

We stayed like this for a moment, and I honestly enjoyed it.

"Please stay with me" I almost couldn't hear what she said but I got that.

"I'm here. Let's go to your room"

We stood up, she still buried her face in my chest. I think she was terrified with her dream. We walked slowly to her room. It was kinda hard to walk because she kept hugging me but of course it didn't even matter. We reached her room, I opened the door and we walked in. I placed her to sit on the bed, she pulled away but soon covered her face with her hands.

"Please stop crying" I wiped her tears on her cheek. It honestly hurt me to see her like this, she was so terrified.

She stopped crying, wiping her tears. Her eyes were so damn red and those eye bags told me that she didn't have good sleeps recently.

"Go to sleep"

She laid on her bed, I put the blanket and covered her. She closed her eyes, I kissed her forehead. I was about to get up when she grabbed my hand.

"Nathan.. Will you stay here with me? I'm scared" her eyes told me that she was still scared. I just nodded and smiled at her.

She moved a bit from her side just to give me some space for my side. I crawled on the bed and laid beside her. She put her right hand on my chest and fell asleep. I couldn't help but smiled. Having her in my arms for once making me so happy.

I heard soft snores coming from her which means she had fallen back to sleep. I kissed her head once again and closed my eyes to finally sleep. With the girl of my dreams beside me.
