The perfect plan

Exhausted from their ordeal, the group decided to execute Polux’s plan at tomorrow midnight. Kreto, still aching from Polux’s punches and kicks, needed time to recover. Polux’s Plan: One hour before the monsters arrived, Polux would leave the cave and act as bait, luring the creatures into Kreto’s hiding spot. Since he was incredibly fast, he could outrun them with ease. Once the creatures followed him inside, Kreto would push a massive boulder over the entrance, trapping them inside. At that moment, Polux would activate the Oro Stone, its light filling the space and either melting or killing the beasts. Sirio: “Wow, Polux! That’s genius! You’ll kill the monsters with the Oro Stone, but the light won’t spread through the entire cave. Brilliant!” Kreto was impressed. Kreto: “You’re not just strong and fast—you’re smart too. Those creatures don’t stand a chance.” Alhena, still concerned, asked, “Polux, what about us? Where do Sirio and I hide?” Polux: “You two stay under Kreto’s bed. It’s big enough, and I’m sure they won’t find you there. Just stay quiet. Once the monsters are inside and the entrance is sealed, I’ll activate the stone.” Sirio: “Sounds like a solid plan! I’ll take care of Alhena and Blue under Kreto’s bed. You can count on me.” Polux nodded. “For now, let’s eat and get some rest.” Sirio grinned. “Great! Time to break out our supplies.” He pulled out some canned sardines and bread from his pack. “Kreto, got any water? I could really use some coffee.” Kreto handed him two thick bamboo stalks. “These are filled with water. Just poke a hole.” Sirio did so, and water shot out. He drank eagerly. “Ahh! I was dying of thirst!” He passed it to Alhena and Polux, who also took a drink. Blue, Alhena’s cat, rubbed against her leg, meowing softly. She smiled. “You’re thirsty too?” She let the cat lap up some water from her hands. Sirio scratched his head. “Now, how do I heat this water?” Kreto snatched the bamboo and held it near the Oro Stone. Within moments, the water started to boil. Sirio: “Whoa! This thing’s a multipurpose survival tool! I love it!” He made coffee for Polux and Alhena, who drank it gratefully. Then he turned to Kreto. “Want some?” Kreto hesitated but took a sip. His eyes widened in surprise, and he downed the whole cup. “This is amazing! Make me another one!” By the time he finished, he had downed twenty packets of coffee. Sirio and Polux burst out laughing at Kreto’s expression—eyes wide, completely awake, smoking his pipe. Kreto: “I was feeling sleepy earlier, but now I can’t sleep at all! This stuff is incredible! Hey, skinny guy, go outside and buy more!” Sirio: “What? Do you think I’m your servant? Do you even have money?” Kreto: “Money? What’s that?” Sirio: “Exactly.” He laughed. “When you get money, I’ll buy you coffee, alright?” Alhena and Polux chuckled at their bickering. Kreto smirked. “You three can sleep on my bed. It’s big enough. I’ll stay here on the floor. Just keep that white creature off me.” Sirio raised an eyebrow. “Blue, sleep next to me. I don’t trust these guys not to eat me in my sleep.” He reached out for the cat, but Alhena snatched it first. Alhena: “Blue is mine. He’s sleeping with me.” The bed was huge, around eight meters long—enough to fit them all. Polux lay in the middle, Sirio took the left side, and Alhena curled up on the right with Blue. Kreto dimmed the Oro Stone. “Lights out.” The cave plunged into darkness. Just as Polux was drifting off, he felt someone move beside him. It was Alhena. Alhena: “Pol, I’m scared… Can I stay close to you?” Polux: “Of course. Don’t be scared. I won’t let anything happen to you.” He sighed. “I’m sorry you got dragged into all this. Your family must be worried sick.” Alhena whispered, “Before we left, I left a letter at your house. I told them not to worry because I knew you’d keep me safe. I also told them we’d come back, so they shouldn’t look for us.” Polux was surprised. “You… left a letter?” Alhena nodded. “Yeah, before we left.” She hesitated. “But Pol, I don’t even know why I’m doing this. Maybe it’s because… my feelings for you are real. In such a short time, I’ve already fallen for you.” Polux’s heart pounded. “Alhena… I appreciate that. But my mind is still a mess. I keep thinking about my parents, about who I really am. I don’t even know where I belong. But one thing is certain—I’ll protect you. I won’t let anything happen to you. No matter what.” Alhena smiled. “Thank you, Pol. But I won’t go back without you.” Polux: "Alhena, I won’t pretend to know where this path will take us. I don’t even know if there’s a place waiting for us beyond this cave, a world where we can truly be together. But one thing I know for certain—as long as I’m breathing, I will never let you go. No matter what comes our way, no matter how uncertain the future is, just trust me. We’ll face it together. Alhena: Wow! My heart is jumping at all the words you just said, But you know I am also afraid of what will get going to happen tomorrow, But if destiny permits me to be with you, I will take this chance And hope that every moment with you lasts forever. Are you with me Pol? Polux sighed. Before he could reply, Alhena gently pressed her lips against his. At first, he froze—but then, instinctively, he kissed her back. Holding her close, he placed a soft kiss on her forehead. She nestled against him, her body warm against his. A few moments later, they drifted into sleep. Meanwhile, Kreto, still wide awake from all the coffee, sat in the corner of the cave, his glowing yellow eyes staring into the darkness. Across from him, the blue-eyed cat stared right back. Sirio, on the other hand, was already snoring.
