The dark creatures

The Mysterious White Cat The three of them were just as puzzled as Kreto—how had the mysterious white cat gotten inside? It must have hidden inside Sirio’s bag without him noticing, sneaking in as they entered the cave. Sirio: "How did you even get here, you sneaky little thing? You’ve been in my bag this whole time, and I didn’t even notice? Well, I’m glad you’re here! Looks like I’ve got a secret weapon now. You’re my kryptonite against this big, bad Kapre!" Sirio smirked and held the cat up proudly. Sirio: "So don’t leave my side, alright? I’ll make sure you’re well-fed—lots of food, I promise!" Alhena knelt beside the cat, gently scratching under its chin as it purred. Alhena: "Wow, this cat is so adorable! Look, Pol—doesn’t it look just like you? White fur, blue eyes… it’s like you’re twins!" She giggled, then tilted her head curiously. Alhena: "Hmm… you seem strong too. Have you got a name yet, little one? How about ‘Blue’ since your eyes are such a beautiful shade of blue?" The cat meowed and rubbed affectionately against Alhena’s hand, as if it approved of the name. Sirio: "Hey! That’s my cat! Give it back!" Alhena: "I named it, so it’s mine now!" With playful grins, the two started chasing each other like children, laughing as they fought over the cat. Meanwhile, Kreto and Polux simply watched with amused smiles. But then— RUMBLE. The entire cave suddenly trembled. Dust and small rocks fell from the ceiling. Alhena gasped and instinctively ran to Polux, who quickly wrapped his arms around her in a protective embrace. Polux: "What was that…?" Kreto immediately stood up, his expression serious. His sharp eyes scanned the darkness. Kreto: "Quiet. Something… is listening to us." A tense silence fell over the group as the cave continued to shake. Then, from the deep, suffocating darkness ahead—something stirred. The Dark Creatures of the Cave Kreto’s expression turned serious as he glanced toward the entrance of the cave. Kreto: "Night is approaching. When darkness completely takes over, the entire cave will be swallowed in pitch-black shadows. That’s when the night creatures come out." He turned and motioned for them to follow. Without hesitation, Kreto led the way. As they walked deeper inside, Polux, Alhena, and Sirio were astonished. The passage ahead of them was massive—like a tunnel built for giants. The ceiling must have been at least 50 meters high, leaving Kreto with plenty of space despite his enormous size. Finally, they reached a concealed chamber. Kreto: "We’re here. Get inside." The three entered as Sirio rolled a massive boulder to block the entrance. Once secured, Kreto gestured around. Kreto: "This is my hideout. This is where I stay at night… It’s too dangerous out there." Sirio suddenly burst into laughter. Sirio: "Hahaha! This is the first time I’ve heard of a Kapre who’s afraid of the dark! Aren’t you supposed to be the scary one at night?" His loud laughter echoed through the chamber. Kreto’s eyes narrowed as he let out an irritated “Shhh!” Kreto: "I’m not joking. You humans think we Kapres are terrifying, but there are creatures out there far worse than us. That’s one of the reasons I can’t leave this place." He paused, looking toward the blocked entrance. Kreto: "It’s probably around ten at night now… At midnight, they will come out. But don’t worry, we’re safe here. They can’t get through that boulder." Sirio smirked. Sirio: "That’s a relief. But hey, how about some lights? It’s getting pretty dark in here." Kreto nodded. Kreto: "I have something much better than your torches." He walked toward a corner and dug into the ground with his massive hands. A moment later, he pulled out a crystal-like stone, no bigger than a human fist. It looked tiny in his enormous palm. As he rubbed it gently, the stone emitted an intense, golden light that illuminated the entire chamber. Now, the group could see their surroundings—massive piles of fruits, weapons, and battle armor. A gigantic axe rested against the wall. A large bamboo bed stood in one corner, surprisingly well-arranged. Sirio (grinning): "Wow, so this is your room? How much is the rent? And hey, unlimited light? No need to pay the electric bill! Lucky you!" Sirio’s laughter filled the chamber again. Kreto: "Hey, skinny brat, didn’t I tell you to keep quiet?! Keep laughing, and I’ll throw you out to those creatures! Or maybe I should hit you with that axe over there!" Sirio: "Alright, alright! I was just joking!" Polux, however, was more focused on something else. He walked toward the armor and weapons. Polux: "These… These are battle gear. Are they yours, Kreto? And what is that glowing stone? Where did it come from?" Kreto took a deep breath and held up his massive hand, revealing a dark ring adorned with yellow gemstones surrounding a large red crystal in the center. Kreto: "This ring belonged to a prince. To be precise… I was a prince—a prince of the Kapre Kingdom of Or-Or." Silence filled the chamber as Kreto continued. Kreto: "A hundred years ago, a war broke out between my people the kapre and the Tikbalang. They were once our allies, but for reasons unknown, they suddenly attacked us. We were unprepared. Many of my kin perished. My father, the King, was slain. My mother… she saved me." Kreto’s voice softened as he pointed to the glowing stone. Kreto: "Before sealing me away, she gave me this. This is the Oro Stone—the most treasured artifact of our kind. The Tikbalang wanted it… because it has the power to bring endless light to the world. If unleashed, darkness would cease to exist forever." Alhena’s eyes widened. Alhena: "If it can illuminate the entire world… then it can also light up this cave and all its passages, right?" Kreto nodded. Kreto: "Yes. Its light can pierce through every tunnel and passage… but that’s exactly why I can’t use it freely. If I do, every being in this cave will see it, and they will come for it. They will come for me." His expression darkened. Kreto: "That’s why I only use it here, in my hideout, where no light can escape." Polux was deep in thought. Polux: "You said you’ve tried leaving before?" Kreto sighed. Kreto: "Yes… but this cave has seven exits, each leading to a different world. I no longer remember which one I came through. I always end up returning here, afraid of choosing the wrong path." Polux hesitated before asking his next question. Polux: "The night creatures… what are they?" Kreto shook his head. Kreto: "I don’t know what they are. But they are the true guardians of this cave. They are the ones responsible for all the skulls you saw outside. They hunt and kill anything with blood." His eyes locked onto the Oro Stone. Kreto: "I know I can destroy them with this stone. They fear the light—it can burn them to ashes. But if I use it, the entire cave will notice. Every creature lurking in the darkness will come for me… and I won’t survive that." Polux frowned. Polux: "But you said they only come out at midnight, right? Does that mean they’re not here during the day?" Kreto sighed. Kreto: "I can’t say for sure. But from my observations, they always appear at midnight and leave by six in the morning. When sunlight seeps through the cracks of the cave walls, they disappear. However, even during the day, parts of this cave remain in complete darkness… I believe that’s where they hide." As they are talking Polux heaed a loud screeches from the outside. Polux: " I think they are already here, How can I see those dark creatures?" Kreto: "See that cover over there? That mystical type of leather is the Oro Stone's bag, the only thing that its light cannot penetrate. Under that is a hole you can peek to see outside. Polux: "But if we remove the cover then the light will come out from the hole right?" Kreto: "I will turn off the light first before you remove the cover" Polux: "Ok kill the lights now, I want to see them" Alhena hugged Blue tightly, fear evident in her eyes. Polux: “Kreto, deactivate the light from the Oro Stone. We need to see what's in there.” Kreto (nodding, with a hint of hesitation): “Alright, I’m doing it now…” He carefully presses the stone, and the cave is plunged into darkness, leaving only the faintest echoes of the creatures' movements. Polux (whispering to Sirio): “Ready? Let’s take a quick look.” Sirio (voice shaking): “I… I’m not sure about this, Polux. What if they see us?” Polux (steady): “We have no choice. We need to know what we’re up against.” With quiet precision, Polux and Sirio slowly remove the cover from the hole and peer into the abyss below. Polux (softly): “By the gods… what are those things?” From the hole, they can see two enormous bat-like creatures, each larger than Kreto. Their bodies are thick and muscular, resembling bears, but with twisted, demonic horns jutting from their skulls. Their tails—long, barbed, and resembling those of a scorpion—sway menacingly as they stalk their prey. One of them is feasting on the remains of a huge cow, tearing through the flesh with brutal efficiency. Sirio (stifling a scream, trembling with fear): “What are they? Some kind of… monsters?!” Just as they exchange terrified glances, one of the creatures lifts its head, sniffing the air, sensing something amiss. It turns its glowing eyes toward the hole. Its gaze is chilling, as if it can see them, though they are well hidden. Polux (urgent whisper): “We need to cover it—now!” In a swift motion, Polux slams the cover back into place, but not before the creatures have already noticed their presence. A low growl rumbles from below, sending a shiver down their spines. Sirio (his voice barely audible, shaking): “D-Did they see us? I can’t… I can’t stop shaking. What are they, Polux? What do we do now?” Polux (grim, yet composed): “Stay calm. We need to be smart about this. We’ll wait and observe. No sudden moves. If we’re lucky, they won’t find us.” Polux’s voice is steady, but inside, he knows they’ve just crossed into a far more dangerous world than they imagined. Polux: “I have a plan.” He turned to the others, his voice low and determined. Polux: “Listen carefully. This is how we’re going to kill those monsters…” And with that, the group huddled together, preparing their strategy to face the nightmare outside.
