Everything seemed brighter at the office this morning. The birds seem to chirp sweeter. Life was finally looking up to what it should have been all along. I have waited too long and worked too hard for this moment but it is finally here. As I walk into my office and look around realizing that this may be the last day that I am not in the office of the CEO at this company.
The familiar sights and sounds of the office took on a surreal quality as I realized that this could indeed be my last day as anything other than the CEO. The desk that had been my station for years, the phone that had connected me to countless clients and colleagues, and the framed photograph of my family on the wall all seemed to hold a deeper meaning now.
