"A Beta and his Vampire Princess" Epilogue 70 years later

429 Words
“I will be with you every day for eternity, my princess.” Greyson promised his love as she laid her head against his chest, listening to his staggered breathing. “I know you will, my Beta.” Gena sniffed, fighting back the tears. Greyson ran his shaking hand through her hair and Gena lifted her face to study the green eyes of her mate. His face was pale and wrinkled, evidence of all the years he had lived, but his eyes never lost their life. “I love you so much, my princess.” “I love you, Grey.” Gena pressed her lips against Greyson’s and he tasted her salty tears. He cupped her face and used his thumb to catch her tears. “Don’t cry, my love. We have lived a life of love and happiness. This isn’t the end, it’s just a new beginning for both of us. I’ll return to the Moon Goddess and forever be with you in your heart, and you’ll get to start a new chapter of your life. Don’t ever close yourself off, Gena. You have so much life left to live and I want you to do it to the fullest. I hope you find a second and a third chance mate. I hope you never feel sadness or loneliness again.” Greyson said, his voice giving away at the end to a fit of coughing. “I promise, Grey, you don't have to worry about me. You have done well, you have cared for and loved me and you’ve shown me everything that I deserve. You can rest now, my love.” Gena said, running her hands through Greyson’s silver hair before resting her palm against his cheek. Greyson smiled and struggled to lean forward. Gena lifted herself so he didn’t have to fight to sit up, kissing him one last time. His eyes fluttered closed and his breathing slowed. Gena listened until his strong warrior heart came to a stop, beating one last time for her before finally resting. Gena kissed her mate’s forehead and curled up against his side, not ready to leave him yet. She had lived the best seventy years of her life and she wasn’t sure if she would ever feel that kind of happiness again. She made a promise to her mate and husband that she wasn’t sure she could ever keep. *****Read the conclusion of Gena and the royal vampires' story in "The Royal Twins of La Lune" *****Read more about Florida's Valor Moon Pack in "The Archer and Her Wolf"
