As predicted, dinner with Ciro was an unpleasant affair. The man showed up over an hour early and he brought his own protection in the form of his armed guards. He was miffed when he was told they would have to remain outside. April's father pointedly reminded him that Demetrio's absence did not mean that his rules would not be followed. In fact, it was quite the opposite. If he returned and found out that something was not where it was supposed to be, he would lose trust in Cesare. He did not remind the man that the reason only Demetrio's trusted bodyguards were allowed inside the mansion was because of his daughter's attempted coup. He did not have to. Ciro's mind constantly reminded him of the incident, so he could not forget about it even if he wanted to.
