A female reporter from the local nightly news relayed the events of Lorelei’s murder. “Twenty-eight-year-old Lorelei Chappelle was found murdered in room twenty-six.” A picture of Lorelei flashed onto the screen. Clinton whistled. “She was fine.” The reporter continued, “The police spoke with staff and visitors who confirm that Lorelei spent the night with a guest identified as Maxwell Ace.” A mugshot from one of Max’s jail stints came on the screen. “Oh, Lord.” Max dropped his head. “This is Ace,” the reporter stated. “He’s described as a Caucasian male of around six feet to six-foot-two, thirty-eight-years-old, and about one hundred and fifty pounds
