Marcus POV Marcus reached a large chamber. Its floor was made of black cracked marble. On the other end of the room, was a door—the only way forward. But of course, it wouldn’t be that easy. He didn’t approach it—he knew better. Instead, he looked around the room for the real danger. That’s when he noticed it—the light from the torches caught on the thin wires crisscrossing the chamber. It was a tripwire maze. Moving slowly, he ducked and weaved between the nearly invisible wires, careful not to disturb them. One wrong touch, and who knew what sort of deadly mechanism would be unleashed? As he neared the exit, he let out the breath he’d been holding. He was almost through.
