Bound by Fate — Episode 17: The Betrayal Revealed
The words on Amelia’s phone continued to haunt Daniel.
Stop searching for the truth, or you will lose Daniel forever.
For the first time in years, Daniel felt something he rarely experienced.
Fear.
Not for himself.
For her.
Amelia had always been stronger than people expected. She had entered his life as a woman forced into an unfamiliar world, surrounded by wealth, power, and secrets. Many people believed she was too ordinary to stand beside Daniel Blackwood.
But Daniel knew the truth.
She was the only person who had ever looked at him without seeing his family name or his fortune.
She saw him.
And that was why he could not allow anyone to hurt her.
“Give me your phone,” Daniel said.
Amelia handed it to him.
He studied the message carefully, trying to find a clue. The number was unknown, but something about the wording bothered him.
“This person knows us,” he said.
“How do you know?”
“Because they didn’t threaten me. They threatened losing me.”
Amelia looked down.
“Daniel…”
He reached for her hand.
“We will face this together.”
But deep inside, Daniel knew something had changed.
The enemy was no longer hiding.
They were watching.
The next morning, Daniel made a decision. He called a private investigator who had worked with his father years ago.
“I need everything you can find about my uncle Richard,” Daniel ordered.
The investigator hesitated.
“Are you sure? Richard Blackwood has been loyal to your family for decades.”
Daniel’s expression hardened.
“That is exactly why I need to know the truth.”
While Daniel searched for answers, Amelia returned to the old family records room. She wanted to understand why her mother’s name appeared in the documents.
She found an old photograph hidden behind a shelf.
Her breath stopped.
The picture showed four people standing together.
Daniel’s parents.
Her mother.
And another man.
The same man who appeared in every hidden document.
Richard.
Amelia stared at the photograph.
“No…”
The door suddenly opened.
She turned quickly.
It was Daniel.
“What happened?” he asked.
Amelia held up the photograph.
“Your uncle knew my mother.”
Daniel took the picture.
His eyes widened.
He had never seen this photograph before.
“This changes everything.”
Before they could continue, Daniel’s investigator arrived with the information he requested.
The report was placed on the table.
Daniel opened it slowly.
Every page made his anger grow.
Richard had secretly moved money from the family business years ago.
He had also been involved in the disagreement that separated their families.
But the biggest discovery was the final page.
A document showing that Richard had attempted to change Daniel’s father’s will before his death.
“He wanted control of everything,” Amelia whispered.
Daniel clenched his fist.
“My uncle destroyed my family.”
But there was still one question.
Why did he bring Amelia into the picture?
Why did he allow their marriage to happen?
The answer came that evening.
Richard arrived at the mansion without warning.
Daniel was waiting.
“You knew,” Daniel said.
Richard looked confused.
“Knew what?”
“You knew about Amelia’s family. You knew the truth. You knew our families were connected.”
The room became silent.
Richard slowly smiled.
“So you finally found out.”
Amelia looked at him in disbelief.
“You admit it?”
Richard walked closer.
“For years, everyone thought I was the villain. But nobody ever asked why I did what I did.”
Daniel stared at him.
“There is no excuse for betrayal.”
Richard laughed bitterly.
“Your father took everything from me.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Power. Respect. The company. Everything that should have been mine.”
Daniel shook his head.
“You destroyed innocent people because of jealousy.”
Richard’s expression changed.
“No. I destroyed a family that forgot my value.”
Amelia stepped forward.
“You ruined my mother’s life.”
Richard looked at her.
“And your mother ruined mine.”
Daniel’s anger exploded.
“Enough.”
For a moment, nobody spoke.
Then Richard revealed the secret they had been searching for.
“The marriage between you and Amelia was not an accident.”
Daniel froze.
“What?”
Richard smiled.
“Your father arranged it years ago.”
Amelia’s eyes widened.
“Why?”
“Because he knew one day our families would need to unite again.”
Daniel shook his head.
“That makes no sense.”
Richard continued.
“Your father discovered my plans. He knew I wanted revenge. So he created a bond between your family and hers that I could never easily break.”
Daniel looked at Amelia.
Their marriage.
Their connection.
Everything suddenly felt different.
But Richard wasn’t finished.
“There is one more thing you don’t know.”
Daniel stared at him.
“What?”
Richard leaned closer.
“Your father didn’t die naturally.”
The room went silent.
Amelia covered her mouth.
Daniel felt like the ground disappeared beneath him.
“What did you say?”
Richard smiled.
“The person responsible for your father’s death is still alive.”
Daniel’s eyes filled with anger.
“Who?”
Richard looked directly at him.
And then he said the name that changed everything.
“Your own mother.”
Daniel stepped back in shock.
“No…”
Amelia reached for him.
But Daniel couldn’t move.
The man he trusted had revealed a truth that could destroy everything he believed.
Was his mother really responsible?
Or was Richard hiding an even darker secret?
The final piece of the puzzle was waiting to be uncovered.
And this time, the truth would change Daniel and Amelia’s lives forever.
