Chapter Eight

*Faye's POV*

I stood with my back to Leon as he pressed the tip of his blade into my abdomen. We followed the witch out into the clearing when a got a sniff of the most mouth water scent I had ever smelt. I know Leon had smelled really well too but nothing compared to what I was smelling at this very moment. I was ignoring what Leon was saying as I scanned looking for who the scent belonged to. My wolf stirred within me as well wanting to lay eyes on this person.

After a few moments I locked eyes with a man who in my eyes was built like a god. He was husky, or what some may call a 'dad bod'. He had long deep brown hair pulled up into a man bun at the crown of his head, and a thick sexy beard that I wanted to rub my hand through. His eyes were browny colored with honey swirls and they were locked on mine. I knew one of the colors was that of his wolf. His scent was captivating as it smelt of a smoldering bonfire with a hint of honey suckle mixed in.

As I stared into this mans soul I felt as mine was on fire but not in a painful way. Warmth took over my body as I forgot all about the predicament I am currently in. I heard the sound of voices and even seen the mysterious mans mouth moving but I couldnt make out anything he or anyone else was saying. However after what felt like an hour, though I am sure it hasnt been that long a womans voice spoke for the first time breaking me through my trance.

I jerked my head toward the womans voice that I knew I had heard before. I locked eyes on the woman who stood before me pinning the witch to the ground her foot on her airway. Could it really be her, my mother? In the blink of an eye the woman lifted her hand and a gust of wind blasted toward us. Leon, whose grasp on me had momentarily loosened which sent him flying away from me. Before he was away from me however his blade dug into my stomach causeing me to fall to the ground screaming in pain.

Before I knew what was happening I felt sparks rush through my body as the long hair man grabbed me to him. My vision began to blure as I looked into his eyes.

"Mate" Athena and I both said before everything went dark.

I am unsure how long I had been out or where I am now, as the darkness that had engulfed me began to fade. I heard the steady beeping of what I assumed to be a heart monitor. This was good news meaning I am alive, but what about my baby? I slowly moved my hand onto my stomach only to realize that my stomach was very big now compared to what it bed before all of this had happened. Well I guess that answers the question to if my pup is okay, I thought to myself. I looked around the room and quickly realized I wasnt in a hospital room at all.

I scanned the walls and tables beside me all of which held beautiful pictures and/or flowers. The room felt nice, homely, and beautiful. The bed in which I lay is huge probably a king bed but super comfortable. Not to firm yet not to soft either. The bedding was black with red trim as were my pillow cases. I continued to look around the room until my eyes fell on a figure who sat in a chair in the far corner of the room. With the slight glow of my bedside lap, and the help of my superhuman sight I immediatly new who she was.

Her eyes stayed locked on me but she didnt dare move. I assumed it was to make sure I wasnt going to freak out on anyone in shock. Surprizingly I felt calm, at peace, and something about my dream during my time in the darkness helped me feel more confident than I have ever felt.

*FlashBack*

The darkness consumed me and it was peacful. Is this death? I looked around the darkness that surrounded me before I blinked then found myself in the most beautiful garden I had ever seen. Flowers of all colors bloomed, the full moon above casting the perfect glow across them. Smelling I could smell all the fragrances of the flowers that assulted my nose but in such a good way. I signed in peaceful painless bliss. I glanced up and my heart began to pound as a tall figure started coming to me from the shadows of the forest edge that surrounded the garden.

"Calm my child you are safe now" A soothing voice practically sang to me and I instantly calmed down. "It is I Saige the moongoddess."

The figure continued toward me until the light finally shown upon her. Her hair was Long and silver flowing to the ground and then some behind her, Her gown she wore was a shimmering white that flowed around her perfectly in the most elegant of ways. Her eyes though were the color of fire. A shiver took over my body as I stared into her red yellow and orange swirled eyes, power flowing from her. I bowed my head to her in submission as I was always taught to do to those of higher ranks.

"Come now rise my child." She smiled a sweet smile at me

"Am I dead Goddess?" I asked her shyly

"No honey" She chuckled finally reaching a few feet away from me. "Your body is being healed as your wounds were not that life threatening. Had your mother not have gotten help to you when she did though you and your pup would indeed be dead."

"Why am I here with you?" I couldnt help but voice this question out loud.

"You are finally free from the life in which you have been raised. Do not be fooled though danger still lurks around for you and your pup. Your life is not what it seems at all my child. You are unware that your mother is that of a witch, a strong bloodline of that. The one she is birthed from was that of evil, however your grandfather raised them so that they harnessed their gift for that of good. You may be only one fourth witch, but with your alpha and beta blood line and chosen by me you will be one of the strongest supernaturals. This will make you strong and a brave warrior that is nearly indestructible unless you become to cocky or complacent. Every reign of each moongoddess last two thousand years before she is called to find the next moongoddess who will take her place. Within each Reign we choose one to become 'kissed by the moongoddess'. This is where we choose a warrior years before their birth due to a vision we experience. The indiviual who is 'kissed' will have the strongest of all scenses and be stronger and faster than all others in their time. They are a force for good unless otherwise tainted to do evil, and their mates will also become more powerful once the mating bond is completed. This causes the chosen one or 'kissed' one to become wanted by many who wish to be powerful for the wrong reasons."

She paused letting me comprehend everything she has said "But I am a nobody. I am scarred, broken, used, and beaten. I am nothing special" I whisered

"On the contrary, yes you have lived a hard rough life. It is this that will make you even stronger than I could have ever imagined. You will not only be powerful and have strength but you will also have Knowledge to rule in a fair but stern way to bring justice to victims all over. You will also be mentally strong and unable to be easily brought down by fear or threats as youve experienced pain like no other. You must come to terms though with your past. I know that will not be easy but you will be surrounded by those who will accept you and love you like no other when you wake up. Your pup will be raised strong and have powers as well unlike anyone has seen in fifty thousand years."

"Is he also kissed by you?"

She smilled at me a glimmer in her eyes. "I can not tell you what your pup is as I can not alter the future. All I can tell you is that the pup will be strong and powerful and will need to be taught to fight, protect, lead, but to be level headed and fair to all those around them. Your pups each and every one you have will be gifted in one way or another but your first birth will birth royalty to all supernatural beings. You will soon learn more about whose blood runs through your child as they grow up."

"Wait!" I said remembering something "How do I have two mates?"

"You are a special individual and some individuals are lucky enough to have a second chance mate. If I feel someone is worthy of a second chance mate due to the choices of the other mate that had been chosen then I bless them with one."

This made since to me so I let it go. She didnt say another word and when I turned to ask her something she was gone.

*End flashback*

My mother sat in silence watching me as I thought back to everything the moongoddess had said to me. I must face my past and deal with it because I can't change it. I know it will be hard but I can not allow those who hurt me continue to prevent me from living the rest of my life happily. I sighed and motioned for her to come to me.

"Mom" I said my hoarse voice said breaking the silence.

"It's me Faye" She replied and the sound of her voice brought back all the love I once felt from her. Tears filled my eyes as I reached up for her to hug me.

"Drink this" She said after we hugged for a moment, bringing the straw to my lips.

I sipped on the cold liquid I so desprately needed in order to continue talking as my throat was super dry. My mother watched my every move worry crossing her face.

"I am fine mother." I stated after I drank the entire cup of ice water. "There is a lot to dicuss though. I would rather not have to repeat everything twice. Can you ask Alpha Blaine, Lonnie, and Howard to meet with me tonight? I know It is late but seeing as I have slept for god only knows how long I am not tired and really need to get this off my chest."

She nodded before leaving the room to spread what I had asked for. I pulled the IV out of my arm that had been giving me fluids and removed my heart reader as well which sent the machine going crazy. Rolling my eyes I jerked the cord to unplug the stupid thing. Slowly I rose to my feet worrying that I would be unsteady since I had been in bed for awhile. I am still unsure how long I had been out of it. I wasnt as bad as I had feared and quickly regained my normal strength if not more than before.

I entered the bathroom that was connected to my room and began stripping my gown that the dr had obviously put me in. Turning on the shower I grabbed a rag from the closet behind the door and stepped under the piping hot water. A slight moan of pleasure escaped my lips but in this very moment I didnt care, the water felt amazing. I quickly Showered using the shampoo and conditioner provided as well as the body wash. All seemed new so I figured someone stocked the bathroom for when I would wake up. I needed to remember to think Alpha Blaine.

I suddenly recalled the man I had been so drawn to that was my second chance mate. I wondered If he was one of Blaines inner cirlce. I began to get excited and nervous about meeting everyone, what if he rejects me. Fear rose quickly before Athena spoke scaring the crap out of me, as she had be silent this whole time.

"Snap out of it Faye! You heard the moongoddess she blessed you with your second chance mate. She isnt going to pair you with another low life like Leon" She stated matter of factly. I tensed at Leons name, wondering if they caught him and James.

Shaking my head, I stepped out of the shower quickly drying off. I began snooping through the drawers looking for something I might could wear. To my surprise there was new clothes and undergarmets with tags still on them. They happened to be my size to, 2x, which surprised me even more. This Alpha sure has gone out of his way for someone he doesnt even know, I thought to myself. Getting curious after I put on a nude bra and a blue pair of 'granny panties' as I call them, I walked to the closet. I discovered that he filled it to with anything from workout clothes, lounge clothes, up to fancy galla looking dresses. There was shoes of all sorts as well; sandals, flip flops, heals, boots, you name it and I swear this closet had it.

Being plus sized I never cared for clothes as they were so expensive and hell most of the time the clothes that were 100 or more a piece still looked like something my grandmother wouldve worn. It always made me so mad that I couldnt find affordable but cute clothes that actually fit me. Sighing I looked through them and decided I wanted to wear a maternity dress that was a stretchy material. It was black but had blue flowers around the bottom of the skirt and a cluster of them on the right side of my stomach almost shaped like a cresent moon.

Deciding to slide on just some bland black sandals and throwing my hair up into a high messy bun. I chose not to even care about make up, I have never been one who cared much for how I dressed or looked. I always felt that since I am 'fat' and all then dressing up isnt going to change anything anyway. Being picked on for my weight all my life I guess hasnt helped my view on my image at all. I looked at myself in the mirror and put my hand on my baby bump, though I am a big woman I could clearly still tell I was pregnant.

"You look beautiful" My mothers voice startled me from the doorway. I smilled at her. "Everyone is waiting in the Alphas office if you are ready we should head there to meet them"

Sighing, I turned away from the mirror and followed my mom through the packhouse. I kept my eyes on the ground as I was to shy to meet anyones gaze I might run into on the way to the office. It took about two minutes to make our way to the room and my body stiffened once we were outside the office door. I had been so preoccupied by my own thoughts I had drowned out Athena who was now screaming at me that she smelt our mate. I stood frozen at the door as I could smell him from inside, and I knew once the door opened I would once again see the man who makes time stand still for me.

"Come on honey" My mom said opening the door.

I took one step inside the office and my eyes immediately went to him. He was as handsome as I remembered him to be, if not even more so. It clicked with me after staring at him for a moment, I realized he sat behind the Alphas desk in the Alphas chair.

"Oh s**t! My second chance mate is the Alpha" I said. I had only meant to say it to Athena in my head but apparently I said it out loud because everyone stared at me with wide eyes as Blaine slowly stood up. He didnt approach me I could see the fear in his eyes that one wrong move send me running from him.

"Hello Faye" His husky voice spoke to me in a gentle tone "Yes I am Alpha Blaine and you are my fated mate."

I stared at him with my mouth opened not able to form words.
