By the end of the day, Hayley was fried. She wasn’t even sure why. It hadn’t been a particularly hard day, just steady and busy. It was the rare day like this that made her wonder if she’d chosen the right career. She loved the helping people, the stopping crime and making sure the people of her town were safe. She hated the days where it felt like all she was doing was treading water. Like every time she put away one bad guy, three more popped up. It seemed like she’d been putting out fires all day.
