Chapter 8:Middle school madness

653 Words
As the elementary days were behind me now, I couldn't wait to start middle school. we had six classes that teach a subject every hour. But my parents had other plans for me. They put me in the special Ed class. I did learn what the general ed class did, just at a slower pace. When lunch came around, I couldn’t eat in the cafeteria like the others did and socialize. Nope, my parents had me on lockdown. I ate in the classroom with the teachers, listening to them talk down about their students. The teachers had a point system. where you go up to a level or you go down a level. The highest level will be level 6. that's when you can have McDonald's or something of that matter for lunch. it was the hardest level to stay on. you don't want to be on 1 or 2, that's when you have to be escorted around the school with a para pro. I had no choice in this matter because it was my parents' choice, and you d9nt want to make them upset. At first, it was exciting because I was attending a school with my older sister Sarah. Everyone loved Sarah, including students, teachers, and my parents. I tried so hard to make everyone like me, but I wasn't Sarah or Jeremiah. Nope, I was unloved, unwanted, nobody. Through 6 - 8th grade, it was like this every day. There were days when I didn't want to get up anymore. If you don't apologize, OR say anything to them, they will give you a sly remark, like, "GO talk to your mama, I ain't your mother remember." Or if you need Mom's approval for anything, THE first thing she'll bring up is the problem from yesterday. The school was the only place that I could get away from it all, my parents, my siblings, everyone! The only reason everyone stuck around me was to get to be closer to my sister, Sarah. I don't what, but I never saw Jeremiah, Jordan, Sarah, Jamie, or Naomi get whacked with a 2x4. I wanted the bond Sarah and my adoptive mom had. They did everything together, cooked, rides, and had dinner, even laughed together . When she went to high school, the following year, the people I once knew turned their backs on me like I was nothing. I tried telling my mom, and she told me to talk with the teachers, so I did, and all they said was, "How do I know they were laughing at me?" School was my only escape from my troubles, or so I thought. Mom will make sure we stay punished, even at school. With every move I make, Mom gets a phone call. Every boy I talk to, Mom gets a call. it was embarrassing and humiliating. It would make you want to go crazy. all my middle school days were ruined by my adoptive parents. Everyone was fooled by my parents and their fake Christian acts. Everyone in the family was just full of fakery. Even Jeremiah and Sarah, they pretended I didn't exist. I didn't have many friends, so one day, I bonded with a smokey grey cat. she had no name at the time, but she trusted me, and I fell in love with her like she was my own. every morning, she would be waiting by my porch door. I thought it would be cool if my older siblings found out and would keep it a secret. Nope, it backfired on me. They waited til my back was turned and my guard was down. They couldn't wait to tell Mommy! When my mother found out, she went into a screaming rampage. she even kicked the cat to make her point. Sadly, after that, the cat never showed herself around my house again. Once again, I was alone in the world.
