Chapter 4: Same Family, New Problems

Around 2006 and up, my parents adopted a few more kids. I was only six at the time when I started to flinch uncontrollably. I didn't see the slaps coming. Parents would pass by me like normal than, next second I know, my cheek is burning from a slap on the face. They would mock me, as if I was flinching on purpose. it was embarrassing as it was, they just made it worse. They couldn’t wait to tell everyone else, people at school, work, even their adult children. Lizzy, Jordan, Isaac, and Naomi were the last one to get adopted The more kids they got, it was harder to capture their attention. Naomi had all their attention like a string around her tiny fingers. as I got older, the more my eyes began to open and see things for what they are. I first realized that the bond my siblings and I had, has been washed away. that woman took the only thing I had left in this world. Now the pretend I don't exist. They acted like I wasn't there. I was the black sheep of the flock. I started losing friends in the 3rd grade, and my parents didn't even know it. When I was in the third grade, I loved to do cheerleaders at recess. One day, the two girls decided to cut me out of the group. I saw it coming. they always had their hair done and always went to the mall. but, my family had the money, but they didn't want to use it for stuff like that. it hurt, it was embarrassing and humiliating. I never knew kids could be that cruel.
