Richmond's POV
I could see the pain in her eyes when she walked out of the room. But I can't help it. I can't call quits with Claire and risk losing the company when I'm not sure Cassidy is on my side.
As I stand in the defendant's box, I feel a deep guilt eat through me. I haven't been kind to Cassidy. The feeling of righting my wrongs pricks my heart, but I can't do anything without her giving me the go-ahead.
I want her, but I can't have her. It's painful. Claire won't fail to rub it in her face that she has me now, and Cassidy is out of the picture. Becoming friends with Claire will only expose her to further hurt.
