Jules It was almost midnight when I finally gave up pretending I wasn’t hungry, because damn, I really was. My stomach had been growling for the better part of an hour, an embarrassing, hollow reminder that I had skipped dinner like a petulant child, just because of some annoying ass. I could have gotten up from this bed, walked down the hall, zapped something in the microwave, and eaten it in silence like an adult. But no. I would rather starve than touch his food. I wasn’t even sure if there was any left over, and that would be awful to discover, because I was too tired to rustle something up quick to eat.
