*Summer* As the cab comes to a stop in front of the Rogue and Maiden, I refuse to let the sight of the building throw me back eight years … when I had thought I was being so brave and bold to sneak out of the residence to come here with him. How I hadn’t known I would be called upon to be even braver and bolder or how I will eventually fail in that endeavor. He gets out of the cab, then helps me out. His hand lands on the small of my back, guiding me forward, and I rather regret that I put on my cloak to ward off the chill of the night. A few people are hurrying along the street, some going into the bar, others departing it. So much activity, so much life.
