Third person POV
On April’s first day of work, she steps out of the Elite Model Management car, dressed in a fitted white t-shirt, dark skinny jeans, and a pair of stylish flats. The sun is shining, casting a warm, golden glow on the building.
April takes a moment to take in the beauty of the Elite Model Management building, which is a stunning example of modern architecture. The sleek glass-and-steel structure is a symbol of her hard work and determination to make it in the modeling world.
As April enters the building, she is greeted by Gabriella, who leads her to a comfortable conference room. The room is filled with sunlight, and April can’t help but notice the colorful paintings on the walls, which feature famous models from decades past.
Gabriella encourages April to take a seat, and then begins to explain her duties as a new model. “We want you to focus on building your portfolio,” Gabriella says, her voice warm and reassuring.
“For the first few weeks,” Gabriella continues, “you’ll be attending castings and go-sees, meeting with photographers and stylists to create the best possible portfolio. We’ll also be setting up social media accounts for you to build your online presence.”
April nods, her eyes bright with excitement. “I’m ready for whatever comes my way,” she says, her voice firm and determined.
Gabriella smiles at April’s enthusiasm, then pulls out a folder from her briefcase.
Inside the folder are various contracts and documents for April to review and sign. Gabriella patiently explains each one, ensuring that April understands the terms and conditions of her employment with Elite Model Management.
April takes her time reading through the documents, her expression thoughtful and serious. She asks Gabriella several questions, wanting to make sure that she is making the best decision for her career.
“Is there anything else you’d like to discuss?” Gabriella asks, her tone friendly and professional.
“Well, I was wondering if you could tell me a bit more about the accommodations provided by the agency,” April says. “I’m not really sure what to expect.”
Gabriella smiles. “Of course. The agency will provide you with a furnished apartment in a secure building not far from here. It’s a very safe and comfortable neighborhood, close to many of the modeling agencies and studios.”
April feels her shoulders relax a bit.
Gabriella notices April’s subtle shift in demeanor. “Is everything alright?” she asks gently. “You seem a bit hesitant.”
April nods. “I’m grateful for everything the agency is providing,” she says, “but I was hoping for a bit more privacy. I understand that it’s common for new models to share accommodations, but I feel like I’d work better if I had my own space.”
Gabriella nods, considering this.
Gabriella turns to April and smiles. “I’ve got an idea. How about you stay with me for the first week or so? That way, you can settle in and get your bearings without feeling overwhelmed. After that, we’ll look into finding you your own place.”
April feels a sense of relief wash over her. “That would be perfect,” she says. “I’d really appreciate that.”
Gabriella nods, pleased. “Great. I’ll get you set up in the guest room tonight. But for now,” she says, glancing at her watch, “we’ve got a busy day ahead of us. We’re going to start with a portfolio shoot in a couple of hours, so we should probably get you to the stylist.”
Gabriella gathers up the contracts and stands, signaling that it’s time to go.
Gabriella smiles warmly at April, a glint of excitement in her eyes. “You’re going to do great,” she says. “Trust me. You’ve got something special, something that’s going to set you apart from the rest.”
April feels a surge of confidence at Gabriella’s words, and she stands to join her. “I’m ready,” she says. “Let’s do this.”
As they head out of the conference room, Gabriella leads April down the hallway, chattering easily about the agency and the other models. April can’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed by all the information, but Gabriella’s friendly manner puts her at ease.
“You’ll meet a lot of interesting people in this industry,” Gabriella says as they step into the elevator. “Some of them will be your biggest supporters, and some of them...well, let’s just say that not everyone plays nice
As the elevator descends, Gabriella continues her impromptu tour. “On the first floor, there’s a small café where a lot of the models and staff hang out,” she explains. “And down the street, there’s a great boutique where we often shop for clothes.”
The elevator doors open, and they step out into the lobby, where the sounds of bustling city life fill the air. Gabriella pauses for a moment, looking at April.
“Are you okay?” she asks, her voice tinged with concern.
April takes a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. “Yeah, I’m okay,” she says. “It’s just...a lot to take in.”
Gabriella nods, understanding. “It is a lot,” she agrees. “But you’re doing great so far. Just focus on one thing at a time, and before you know it, all of this will feel like second nature.”
She smiles reassuringly at April, then gestures towards the door. “Shall we?”
Stepping out onto the bustling Miami streets, April takes a moment to adjust to the heat and noise of the city. Gabriella walks confidently beside her, pointing out various landmarks and shops as they walk.
“There’s a great juice bar a few blocks from here,” Gabriella says, pointing down the street. “They make the best smoothies in the city. And over there, that’s a fantastic clothing store. They’ve got some great designer pieces.”
April takes it all in, trying to remember as much as she can.
As they walk, Gabriella introduces April to a few of the other models they pass by. “This is Tiffany,” she says, gesturing to a tall, slender woman with long blonde hair. “And that’s Dani,” she adds, pointing out a petite brunette in a chic white dress.
April shakes hands with both of them, smiling awkwardly. “Nice to meet you,” she says.
“You too,” Tiffany replies, sizing April up with a critical eye. “Welcome to Miami.”
As Tiffany walks away, Dani steps closer to April, a warm smile on her face. “Ignore Tiffany,” she whispers conspiratorially. “She’s a bit of a diva.”
April smiles, feeling a bit more at ease. “Thanks for the heads up,” she says.
Dani shrugs, her dark eyes gleaming. “Hey, it’s a competitive industry. You’re going to meet all kinds of characters. Just remember to be yourself and focus on your goals.”
