CH 3:The Moon’s Wrath

Nishi The rogue’s teeth sank deep into Nishi’s shoulder. White-hot agony exploded through her body. His fangs tore through muscle and skin as if her flesh were nothing more than thin cloth beneath his jaws. The violent force of the bite slammed her hard against the forest floor, the air bursting from her lungs while a broken scream ripped from her throat. For a moment the world disappeared. Pain swallowed everything. Sound blurred into a distant ringing. The towering trees above her twisted into dark shadows while the cold night wind brushed across her skin like icy knives. Then the pain sharpened again. Warm blood poured from the wound instantly, soaking through her torn blouse and running down her arm in thick crimson streams. It dripped steadily from her trembling fingers, staining the damp soil beneath her with dark patches that spread slowly across the ground. The rogue growled savagely. His jaws tightened. He shook his massive head violently to deepen the bite. Fresh pain exploded through Nishi’s body as the movement tore the wound wider. Her fingers clawed helplessly at the earth beneath her, nails digging into dirt and fallen leaves while her body struggled weakly beneath the crushing weight of the attacking wolf. The other rogues began circling closer. Hungry and Excited. Their yellow eyes glowed in the darkness like cruel lanterns reflecting the moonlight. They knew victory when they smelled the blood. And right now Nishi smelled like blood. “Finish her,” one of them snarled. Another rogue approached slowly from the side. His large body moved with calm confidence, his scarred muzzle lifting slightly as he inhaled deeply. “She’s bleeding out already,Easy to kill.”” he said with satisfaction. Nishi’s chest rose and fell unevenly beneath the rogue pinning her down. Every breath burned as if her lungs had been filled with fire instead of air. Her body felt weaker with every passing second, strength draining out along with the blood spilling from her shoulder. Her fingers trembled. Her vision blurred. The rogue finally released his bite only to shove her harder against the ground with his massive paw. Sharp claws dug painfully into her chest while blood continued pouring from the deep wound in her shoulder. “You’re finished, little wolf,” he growled. Nishi’s head fell sideways against the cold earth. Tears mixed with dirt across her face. For a moment she wasn’t in the forest anymore. She was standing in the pack courtyard again. Joshua stood before her. Cold, distant, and unrecognizable. She could still see the silver dagger cutting across his palm. Still hear the sharp intake of breath from the gathered wolves as his blood fell onto the rejection stone. And then those words. The words that shattered everything. I reject you. The memory slammed into her chest like a physical blow. Her fingers curled weakly into the soil. “So this… is how it ends…” she whispered hoarsely. The rogue above her lowered his jaws toward her throat. His breath was hot and rotten. His teeth gleamed in the moonlight as his jaws opened wider. One bite. That was all it would take. And that was when something inside Nishi finally broke. Not the mate bond. Something older. Something buried deep inside her blood. The world suddenly went silent. Completely silent. The wind stopped moving through the trees. The rustling leaves froze. Even the rogues paused mid-movement. Because the scent rising from Nishi’s body was changing again. It was subtle at first. Faint. But unmistakable. The smell of weak prey was disappearing. Something else was replacing it. Something ancient. Something that did not belong to ordinary wolves. The rogue leaning toward her throat hesitated. His ears flattened. “What the hell—” Inside Nishi’s mind, a voice spoke. ‘Good girl! Don't be scared I'm with you.’ Moon said. Older than the forest itself. You are not dying tonight. Nishi’s fading awareness sharpened instantly. Her eyes widened slightly as the voice echoed through her thoughts. Silver heat exploded through her veins. Nishi screamed. Her body arched violently off the ground as every bone in her skeleton cracked with brutal force. The sound echoed loudly through the clearing as the transformation ripped through her body for the very first time. The rogues jumped backward in alarm. “What is happening to her?!” Her spine bent painfully. Muscles tore and reshaped beneath her skin. Glowing silver light began spilling from the wounds across her body like liquid moonlight burning through her blood. “It hurts!” Nishi cried desperately inside her mind. ‘Yes. Bear with me.’ Moon’s voice remained steady. Another crack echoed through the clearing. Her fingers stretched. Bones lengthened. Claws burst through her skin. Silver fur spread rapidly across her arms and shoulders like frost crawling across winter glass. Nishi gasped between waves of agony. “I’m not ready!” ‘You were never meant to remain weak.’ Her body twisted violently as the shift continued. Her ribs expanded outward. Her spine lengthened. Her scream turned into something deeper. Something wilder. Half human and half wolf. The rogues stared in horror. “Kill her now! She is dangerous!!” The first one said in a hurry. Fear shows in his voice. Two wolves lunged forward. But the transformation finished before they could reach her. Silver light exploded outward across the clearing. And something enormous rose from the ground. The rogues froze. Because the creature standing before them was no ordinary wolf. Moon ran over them. Her massive pure white furry body stood nearly twice the size of the largest rogue wolves. Her white fur shimmered like liquid silver beneath the moonlight, every strand glowing softly as if the moon itself lived inside her coat. Her eyes opened slowly. Bright silver, ancient and merciless. Inside the wolf’s mind, Nishi’s voice trembled with shock. “This… this is me?” ‘This is us, dear. Rest back, I'll handle these low case wolves.’ Moon answered softly. The rogues snarled nervously. One charged first. Moon moved faster. Her enormous body blurred forward like a silver storm. Her jaws snapped shut around the attacking rogue’s neck before he could even land a strike. Bone shattered. Blood sprayed across the forest floor. The rogue’s body collapsed lifeless instantly. The remaining wolves panicked. “What kind of monster is that?! How can she become this much stronger?” The second wolf asked. “Something is not right.” The fourth one said in a bit of a scary tone. Nishi's bloody silver eyes turn toward them. Her mouth dripped thick red blood. Looking at a massive wolf with a bloody month was more terrifying. Moon saw only three of them left. “KILL HER!!” one of them shouted. Three attacked at once. Moon welcomed them. She twisted gracefully through the air with terrifying speed. Her claws sliced through fur and flesh as she tore open one rogue’s chest. Another wolf crashed beneath her crushing weight, the sound of bones snapping echoing violently through the forest. Nishi felt everything. The new strength and the speed. The terrifying power flowing through her body. Something that she never felt before. “They’re going to die…” Inside her mind she whispered nervously, ‘They chose violence. They chose their own death.’ Moon’s voice remained calm. The last two rogues tried to flee. But Moon refused to allow it. She leaped forward with devastating speed, landing in front of them before they could escape. Her glowing silver eyes locked onto their terrified forms. One rogue lunged desperately. Moon ended him with a single swipe of her claws. The final rogue ran deeper into the forest. Moon chased him. Within seconds the clearing fell silent again. Six bodies lay scattered across the blood-soaked ground. Moon stood alone beneath the full moon. Her breath slowly steadied. “Is it… over?” Inside her mind Nishi whispered weakly. ‘Yes. You are safe for now.’ Moon whispers gently. But the strength flowing through their body was fading rapidly now. Moon’s massive form began trembling. Nishi felt it clearly. Her body was exhausted because of blood loss. Pain is returning. “My body feels… heavy…” Nishi whispered in pain. Moon lowered herself slowly onto the forest floor. Your first transformation demanded more strength than your body currently holds. Silver light began fading from her fur. The transformation reversed. Fur dissolved and claws shortened. Bones shifted painfully again. Within moments Nishi’s human body collapsed onto the cold earth once more. Her skin was pale beneath the moonlight. Blood still flowed from the deep wounds across her shoulder and ribs. Her breathing became weak. Her vision blurred again. “Moon… I feel so weak….” she whispered faintly. ‘We use lots of power for fights. Your body is not good for fighting. Rest for now. I'll heal you slowly. It takes time.’ The Moon voice softened. Nishi struggled weakly to keep her eyes open. “But the rogues… They will come again.” Nishi's voice became low. ‘They cannot hurt you anymore. I'm here.’ Moon voices become soft. Darkness crept slowly into her vision. Her last thought drifted weakly through her fading mind. “I don’t want to die alone… Don't leave me, Moon.” Nishi said. ‘You will not.’ Moon’s final whisper echoed gently. And then Nishi lost consciousness beneath the silent moon. Unaware that far beyond the forest. Four powerful Alpha Kings had already felt her awakening. And they were already running toward her scent. *****
