All eyes on us

As they walked in, all eyes were on them. They knew they would be watched so they avoided looking straight into anyone's eyes. The type of feeling they had when they entered the room was uncommon and they wished they could go outside almost immediately but that would be a mistake. Sun knew that they had to maintain staying inside, at least it will make others in the room to think twice before doing anything stupid. The three of them didn’t go in further, they sat very close to the entry door because going in further would pose a great difficulty for them to escape if something unexpected happens. As they sat down, they sat in a way that each person would be watching each other back, forming a round sitting arrangement.

“General” Jonas said in a very low tone. He paused to cover his mouth and said “Let's go outside. It’s not comfortable here. These men that I am seeing here look huge and we are no match for them. They look blood-hungry.”

“I think he is correct. They sure look blood tasty and what I am not sure If is who’s blood they would drink this time. Let’s leave as soon as possible” Viruz said.

“No, we won’t. If we leave now then we are only telling them that we squirreled out because of fear. They may not attack us if we stand here but would attack if they find out that we are scared of them” Jonas replied.

“General, you always say things with confidence and it doesn’t always work out like that. We have to leave here” Jonas said.

“Shut up Jonas. Just shut up and sit down tight. Don’t expose us” Sun said angrily but with a controlled voice. He managed not to talk too loud so that other people in the room won’t hear what they are discussing. The only woman in the room, who appears to be chubby, always smiling matron. Her lips were looking dark red and it was obvious that she applied heavy cosmetics on her lips. The cosmetics she applied on her lips made her look more terrifying. Her mischievous smile could be deceiving but if you look very carefully into her eyes, you will know that something is really wrong with her smile. She was busy serving foods from table to table and was also taking orders from people. She looked directly at Sun's table and her eyes met with Viruz's eyes. He looked at her and immediately looked away.

“Look General, you see that woman in this shop” he paused and lifted his lips in her direction. Sun turned and looked at her. He continued “She looks horrible.”

Immediately Jonas heard Viruz said this, he snickered and unknowingly spat on Viruz's face.

“What’s so funny?” Viruz asked.

Jonas managed to hold himself together after smiling quietly for a while. “I'm sorry Viruz but you know, you need to quit being scared of people every time. Why would you even say that she looks dangerous or something? Huh?” Jonas asked.

“Can’t you see how she looks? She looks horrible and I don’t like her.”

“Well, you know looks can be deceiving. She may be the nicest person you have ever seen. There is nothing that makes her look horrible to me and you mustn't like everyone you know.”

“Can't you see her lips? She applied her lipstick carelessly and it looks horrible. The red lipsticks overlapped her both lips” Viruz said.

“So you are now afraid of lipstick? Haha! You must be a comedian” Jonas said as he laughed.

The woman approached them where they were sitting. Immediately they noticed she was coming, they changed the topic of their discussion.

“Hmm. Good afternoon gentlemen” the matron said in a very slow but steady tune. It looked as if she was humming while she talking.

“Yeah. Just a bottle of strong alcohol would do” Sun replied to her.

“Hmmm. Al-right” she said as she turns like she was in a military parade and went straight to get what they wanted.

“Did you just see that?” Viruz said.

“See what Viruz?” Sum asked.

“Can’t you see how she talks? She was hum-talking. That woman is evil. I don’t like her” Viruz said again.

“Viruz. You just need to eat food as soon as possible, you are hungry. You are talking under the influence of hunger. That shouldn’t be our problem. What should be our problem is how to uncover where Kylian might be hiding and how to face and defeat our hurdles here” Jonas said.

“Ah hah. I support Jonas. Let’s not worry about her looks and concentrate more on our mission” Sun added

The matron brought a jar of alcohol like she was asked with three wooden cups. She kept them at the table and clenched her hands in a fist.

“Gentlemen” she hummed again. “Here are what you requested,” she said as she points at the table. Clenching back her hands in fist again.

“Oh thanks, madam,” Sun said.

She turned around dramatically and wanted to leave but acted as if something struck her. She turned back at them.

“Gentlemen, it seems like you people are not from here. From the way I see it, you guys need more than the alcohol to stay healthy. Or am I mistaken?” she asked, this time keeping both hands at her back.

“why do you need to know where we are from? It’s none of your business madam” Viruz said worryingly.

“Common young man. I’m just being a concerned citizen, you won’t find this kind of gesture anywhere inside this kingdom especially in the capital. Haha,” she said as she laughs evilly.

“We are sorry for that madam. This my comrade here is just getting better from a very serious sickness he had recently. He almost died from the sickness but since he recovered though not fully recovered, he has been experiencing some kind of slow mental reasoning. Isn’t it?” Jonas said as he turns to look at Sun.

He nodded. “You are absolutely correct. We are sorry. We are visitors here just like you said we could use your help if you will agree to help us when we need you to help us” Sun said.

He loosened her hands and clenched it back into a fist. She said, “Of course. I will be at your service. Anything you want gentlemen, will all be at your disposal,” she said smiling.

“Thank you,” Sun said.

She leaned backward and left the three men. While she was walking away, she looked back and she caught Viruz's eyes again. She laughed revealing all her teeth.
