“Jay, you ready? It's gonna be a long road. We need to get there before sun down.”
“I'll be there in a minute,” The young man looked around the living room of his home for the past 13 years as he pictured every bits of memories he has that's going to be sold the next day.
His sister just looked at him with a sad smile as she patted him on his back. “Come on, we can't keep mom and your brothers waiting now can we? I'll wait by the door,” He nodded as he touched the wall where he and his brothers would carve their heights and compete with each other.
He silently laughed when he remembered that their eldest sister gave up competing with them when their second surpassed her. He remembered her excuse that it was childish to compete with her younger brothers but they all knew, she was just embarrassed and would often hit them everytime they mention it to her. His smile was replaced with a sullen look as he remembered the reason why they have to move. He shook his head as he turned towards the direction of the door where he saw his sister waiting with a smile. He smiled in return but it didn't reach his eyes until they went out the door.
“Finally! Took you long enough, I was about to leave you two. Ry somehow fell asleep on the back,” Matt, the second oldest brother, said as he leaned on the family's grey SUV.
“You should've, I have my own car anyways,” Their sister remarked as she smiled at Matt whilst Jay smirked in the background.
Their mother watched in amusement as she continued working on her laptop, “Told you so, their going to be fine without you concerning over them. Have faith, will ya'?”
“But mom,” He protested but was shut down when their mother started calling someone on her phone. He childishly went inside the drivers seat as Jay went inside their SUV leaving their sister to use her own car. Matt looked up towards the mirrors to see his brother sitting comfortably, “What? Not gonna ride with Ash?”
Jay can't help but scoff at him, “Matt, you know how she treasures that thing over her own family. Remember the last time she let you ride with her? Hmm?” Their mother said as she jokingly glared at her son that was beside her. Jay smirked while Matt let out a hearty laugh as he remembered that day and has never ridden with her ever since.
Honk! Honk!
They all looked behind to see Ash in a fitting rage as she looked at them through her window, “Matt, move it! The moving truck already left and I'm not getting any younger you brat!”
“Mom, I don't even know how you gave birth to a wild cat like her. Is she even my sister?” Matt grumbled as he started the car.
Their mother laughed at him as Jay stared at them from the corner of his eye, “Give her some slack, she spent half her life taking care of you guys. I remember how she used to complain about you running around the house butt n---”
“Mom! Let's... not talk about it,” The two conversed for a few more minutes before the car was engulfed with the sound of Own You by Joel Berghult.
Jay diverted his eyes to stare outside his window as he watched as they pass by every street, every place he went ever since he was a kid and now they're going to leave it all behind. He was completely clouded with his thoughts and one of them were, I guess this was for the best.

“So this is the place? Dad should've bought a much smaller house but no. He just have to buy a freaking mansion that fits 4 generations of our family,” Ash complained in a sing song voice as she carried a few of her bags in her hands while the rest of the family walked up towards their new home, except for Ry who helped carry his sister's luggage.
The house was a three floor with two pools inside and outside the house and a large garage that fits at least 5 normal cars. There was a small fishpond on the side and a flower garden beside it. Jay stared outside their new home for a few minutes longer as he adjusted his bag and he silently walked inside behind the rest of his family. The interior is what you've imagine a normal house is, the feeling of a new environment and a warm cozy feel to it. Matt bursted in laughter as he saw a large frame of their family pictures ranging from their childhood and currently. Both Ash and Ry looked at their pictures in discontent as they decided to move towards the living room.
“Guys, I know you're all tired so let's just rest for the day. Go find your own rooms and I'll be in the masters bedroom. You'll find it when you see it,” As soon as their mother left Matt followed suit behind her to get the dibs on the best room he'll find. The three other siblings were left behind as they stared at each other.
Jay sat on the sofa as he played with his phone while the two older siblings glanced at each other, “Ry, you're taking a room on the third floor right? Can you leave my bags across from yours? Thanks,” Ry just nodded as he also left to find his own room. Ash sat beside Jay and she slowly hugged him while stroking his curly brown hair in comfort. “It's going to be okay. We're going to be okay,” Jay turned his phone off as he covered his eyes as he listened to his sister, whisper him sweet encouragements.
They stayed still for a couple of minutes before Ash decided to resign for the night leaving Jay alone with his thoughts. The next morning, they all decided to settle all their things as their mother decided to go out to do some grocery shopping.
Bang!
“Matt! Will you please, just please stop laughing at our f*****g pictures every single time?! Your laughs are ridiculously annoying especially when you start hitting everything around you!”
“Well I'm sorry you and Ry look like those creepy twins in horror movies and dad just has to put up your pictures wearing those stupid looking Halloween costu--- Ow! Hey, wait! Ouch! I'm sorry!” He didn't get to finish his sentence when Ash and Ry started hitting him as Jay silently watched them.
All three boys shifted their heads towards the door as the doorbell rang, “Someone, please get the door and stop glaring at it.”
Jay walked up towards the door and slowly opened it to reveal a man in his late thirties wearing a very expensive suit, leather shoes, a Rolex watch and, a suitcase in hand. He was well built and was about six feet tall and he was smiling at him. He gave Jay a bear hug that could strangle any normal human being if he wasn't strong as his father also known as Dennis River Redcross. “It's good to see you, son.”
“It's good to see you too dad but, can you, let go of me now. Everyone's waiting for you,” Their dad let out a raspy chuckle as they both entered the house. He greeted everyone with a big bear hug except for Ash who received a gentle kiss on the forehead.
“So, where's your mother? I thought I could at least greet her before I could go back to the pack house.”
Matt scoffed as he rolled his eyes, “Dad, remember, don't mention those things right in front of her. No wonder she left you,” Matt said bitterly as the rest looked away. Dennis couldn't help but flinch at his sons words knowing it was the bitter truth. But by doing all this to them, they know that their father still loved them in one way or another.
Dennis decided to change the topic then, “So, when are you guys going to visit the pack house then. They'll gladly accept you if you want I can ar---”
“Whoah there buster, we may be your children but asking us to visit your pack house is a bit, too much, isn't?”
“What's the matter? Do you still think your surrounded by humans, well I guess some of them but, the majority of the population consists of other werewolves. Not to mention there are other pack houses here,” Ash raised her hands in defeat as she slumped next to Ry who just listened to their entire conversation as Matt gaped in surprise. Jay just watched from corner of his eyes as he thought their conversation is going nowhere as he decided to go back to his bedroom.
He could still vaguely hear their conversation but as soon as he closed the doors to his room he was engulfed in complete silence. He was glad the rest of the rooms were sound proof but unless the doors and windows were open, they could still hear every body's voices. He sighed in contempt as his eyes slowly closed engulfing himself with his own thoughts.
