Chapter Three When she opened the door, the nephew held out a plate of toffee. “Sugar and water. Nothing else.” “No thanks.” Besides the fact she wasn’t much into sweet food, she didn’t know him enough to trust how careful he was with food preparation. What if the toffee was contaminated by one of the things she was allergic to?
