Cassandra has been through a lot but at this age and with already grown-up children, she is still not contented with her life. She can never settle with what she has now since it was not the life she wanted in the first place.
The wind blew in her direction as she watches the couple bidding their farewell to Barkis. Patria is far ahead and she didn’t expect Barkis would allow Theodore and Amelia to spend their honeymoon there. The guests had gone home and the night is already late. Despite it and the exhaustion brought by the busy day, the newlyweds still pushed to leave.
Amelia listens to her father as he speaks of his last instructions on what to do and what not to do since he is far from her. Barkis was precise with every detail and Amelia merely nods in response.
