The ground under the feet was flat and icy-cold, like marble but not too slippery. There were no obstacles in the darkness as if it was ridiculing their cautiousness.
Their other senses compensated for their lack of vision by becoming much keener. They were prepared to run as fast as they could at any time if they encountered danger, but unexpectedly, they didn’t see anything, smell anything strange, or hear any sounds. Instead, they managed to walk through the dark passage safely.
