Today is a gloomy day, so I went to pay my respects to my parents at the cemetery. It's my mother's death anniversary, and I've brought her favorite fruit, mango. Even though it's raining, the sky is clear and blue. I'm wearing my mother's favorite yellow dress, which suits me well. As I walk, I lift my arm to feel the rain. Is it raining because it's Mom's death anniversary? My grandma was unable to accompany me because she needed to run errands for Tita Lavinia. I didn't request any assistance because I can do it on my own.
"Oh, Mom, what happened to your tomb, and this was full of fallen leaves?" I clean out her tomb and replace it with candles, flowers, and her favorite mango. "I miss you, Mom; a lot is going on in my life; I graduated high school. I'm currently in my second year of college. I'm sure you're proud of me." I touched her tomb, thinking I could sense her presence. I go to my father's grave after visiting my mother's. Because my family does not want my mother to be a Guillaume, they separated their graves. My father's grave lies next to my grandfather's. Unlike my mother's, his burial is clean and well-kept. I didn't complain about their graves because I'm not of legal age at the time. I'm still young and can't complain. Tita Lavinia controls all of the decisions. I went to Tito Henry's grave after visiting Dad's. So much for my family's memorial. I don't want to go through this agony again. I am aware that deaths are unavoidable. But the grief of losing loved ones is unbearable. I planned to stroll through the park where we visited with my dad, but sadly the park was already demolished. And now it is a coffee shop next to the road; I was about to enter the coffee shop when I noticed a young lady walking down the street, and the car was speeding and directly heading to her position. I'm not sure what followed, but my feet decided to rush towards her and grab her away from the street, and then it all went dark.
‘’Where I am?’’ I said while I push myself, sitting on a white bed. I think I am in the hospital right now. I touch my head, and I felt a little pain. I don’t remember anything after I ran towards the young lady.
‘’Oh my God! You are awake. Wait! Let me call a doctor to check you up,’’ she said. She went back after a second with a beautiful young woman; her hair is short, wearing eyeglasses with a cold aura.
‘’Mom, can you check her if she is fine,’’ the young lady said. The young lady has long golden hair and blue eyes. She is her mother, their face resembles.
‘’Okay, Annie, please follow my pen,’’ I followed her pen through the left and the right. How did she know my name?
‘’If you are asking, how did I know your name? I saw it in your wallet,’’ she said. She gave me my bag. How did she― ‘’I’m sorry, but I can read your face, that’s why I know what you were thinking a while ago,’’ she added, and look at her daughter.
‘’She has minor injuries but fine; take her home, use my car and please drive safe, darling,’’ she looked at me and smile. ‘’Thank you for saving my daughter, I am Dr. Avida, and this is my daughter, Lovely.’’ I nodded and took her hand.
‘’Thank you for taking me here,’’ I said and bow as a sign of my respect. ‘’I am the one who should thank you. I was busy spacing out. I didn’t realize the car was rushing in my direction. Thank you so much, Annie, you are my angel,’’ Lovely said and hugged me. I smiled and hugged her back. This was the first time that calls me an angel.
‘’Lovely take her home now, she needs a rest and her parents should be informed about this.’’ Dr. Avida said she went out to my room. I hope I can inform my parents about this but I can’t, because they are gone. I flinch when my phone keeps ringing. I look at Lovely, and she smiles.
‘’Go on, answer your phone. I’ll wait outside.’’ I nodded and smile.
‘’Hello, Granny”
[Where are you? It’s late in the evening.] She sounds worried…
‘’I’m on my way home, I’m sorry I ran into something,’’ white lies; I don’t want my grandma to worry to me. Mainly I know they are busy in the company since all of the Guillaume men are died.
[Okay, do you want me to call our driver to fetch you, sweety?]
‘’No, grandma, I can handle it.’’
[Take care, okay? I’ll wait. I cook your favorite adobo. I love you]
‘’Oh, can’t wait to be there! Thank you, grandma; I love you.’’
I walk outside, and I saw her looking at her phone. ‘’Sorry to keep you waiting, my grandma called.’’
‘’It’s okay; I was also on the phone earlier,’’ she said. She walks towards a red car and opens the door to me. I was shy because she is a woman, and Lovely is a gentleman simultaneously; I just bowed for a sign of thank you.
‘’Thank you again for saving my life, Annie.’’ She said while focusing on a road.
‘’You’re welcome, Ate Lovely,’’ After I said that, she burst a laugh. Did I say something that makes her laugh?
‘’I’m sorry, I don’t like calling me Ate, you can call me by my name, Lovely,’’ Lovely said
‘‘Where are you from so that I can pin your address here?’’ she added. Since she is driving. I type my address on her car.
‘’Guillaume?,’’ she said in shocked.
‘’Yes, my dad is a Guillaume,’’ I said and look to the window. I’s getting dark since it’s six in the evening now.
‘’Your family is known as the richest. Why are you alone and has no bodyguards and I didn’t know about you,’’ Lovely said.
‘’I don’t have parents; they are gone,’’ I said and smile. I am now wearing it again, the sad smile.
‘’I’m sorry about that,’’ she said.
"No, it's alright, it was a long time ago, and I'm just wondering now."
‘’We are here,’’ she opens the door for me again.
‘’Thank you for the ride,’’ I said
‘’I’m sorry about what happened to your parents. Give me your phone,’’ Lovely said. I gave her my phone even though I don’t know the reason why. I just look at her typing something through my phone, and then she gave it to me.
‘’Here is my number, since you are my guardian angel. Call me when you needed me,’’ she said and winked at me, and then went to the car.
I smiled and wave my hand to her. What a day! I looked up to the sky and smile. Mom and Dad, someone called me a guardian angel. I think I have a reason to live now…
