Chapter 13: Sorry and Thank you

I catch her before she falls. ''Kyo? What happened?'' I heard Lovely at my back, and I lifted Annie, and she was in shock.

''What happened to Annie? Put her down in my room,'' She said, and I did what she told me.

''I heard you shout her name. How did you know her?'' She said while putting a blanket on Annie.

''What happened to her, Lovely?'' Mom said. Mom also knows Annie. How did they know her? Mom checks her on what the problem is.

‘’She falls after she gets out of the comfort room. She even recognized me before she closed her eyes.'' I said to Mom.

‘’She is fine. She needs to rest.'' After she checked on her, she said something to Lovely, and Lovely looked worried. ''Kyo, you need to wait here. Give her this food and take her this medicine if she wakes up.’’ Mom said.

''I have lots of questions now, but it seems you are both going now and leaving me alone with her.'' Mom taps my shoulder

‘’Protect her at all cost. She is important. I have an appointment now in hospital. They are calling me, and you also have

work to do.'' After what mom said, I've been thinking about what she said. What's the meaning behind why I should protect her at all costs? More questions are coming to my head right now. Who are you really, Annie? It seems that everyone around me is revolving into your life now.

''I will answer all your questions when I go home. Tell Annie not to go home and will sleep here. Thank you, Kyo!'' Lovely said and got her jacket and went outside.

Now I am left alone with her. I looked at her, and she seemed tired and stressed, unlike the last time I saw her in school. It was not my intention to hurt her that time. It's just I don't want her to be that too low to herself. She didn't need to worry about me; I should have been the one to tell her that, but I ended up looking mad at her. Well, everyone sees me as a snobbery guy because of my principles. I leave them alone with their thoughts about me. I got used to it, and that's my school image. No one saw me as a soft boy except my sister, Lovely, Gill, and Vyrone. Well, they know how I change. And I think this change is better. No one is trying to put me down. I snapped while I was thinking about my past; Annie woke up.

‘’Kyo? Why are you here?'' She said and looked at the room. I think she is checking if she is still in our house or Lovely’s room.

‘’You are still here in Lovely’s room, and she is my sister.'' She was shocked when I said that. Mom said that she needed to eat and drink the medicine. I think she can't go down to eat the food. That's why I decided to put it on her bed. She was shocked and shy by what I had done.

''Thank you...'' She said and silently ate. I stare at her while eating, but I feel awkward; that's why I use my phone to avoid looking at her.

''After you eat that, drink your medicine. It's on your right side. That's what mom said before she left.'' She nodded and did what I told her. I remember what Vyrone said to me, and she is with Gill; is that true or a coincidence again?

''Thank you so much, Kyo, for taking care of me. I need to go home now since it's late. Where's Lovely?'' I removed everything on the bed before I answered her ''She is in the office, and she said, you must stay here for tonight.''

''I don't have any clothes here.'' I opened Lovely's cabinet. I know her things since she always orders me to get her clothes whenever she stays up all night in her office. I have her t-shirt here and jogging pants. I gave it to Annie.

''You can borrow it. Wash, I will wait for you outside in the bathroom. Just in case you might fall.'' She nodded her head and went to the bathroom. The house is full of silence since it is just Annie and me here. But suddenly I heard some noises in the town. I don't know if I will go down there and check it out or stay here with Annie. But it bothers me, since I don't usually hear any noises when I am alone. Since Annie was still inside, I went down to check it. I slowly walked to the kitchen since I heard it when someone was standing on the sink. I can only see, but it's still in the dark. I get the vase near me and slowly go on the light switch to turn on the light. And I turn on the light, I automatically lift the vase over his head.

''KYO!!!!!''

''MOM!!!''

''For goodness sake, Kyo put down the vase, that is so, much expensive!'' Mom Lara said. I didn't know that it was my mom. That was so close; she wore a black coat and didn't look like her from behind. I put down the vase and got it.

''I'm sorry, mom. I didn't know you would be home today.'' It was because of Mom Avida and Lovely, since they always remind me to protect Annie. I became more attentive to my surroundings.

''What happens, Kyo?'' Annie runs down the stairs. She was so simple in pajamas, somewhat cute. I immediately snap myself into what I am thinking right now.

''Who is she, Kyo?'' Mom Lara said. She was teasingly looking at me. I know what's on her mind. She thinks she is my girlfriend.

''Good evening po'' Annie said and bowed

''Wow, you are a very respected woman. Good evening. It is my first time to see another woman in this house except for us three.''

''Mom, she is Annie, Lovely's friend'' She was shocked by what I said.

''Oh my God, Annie? The one who saved my daughter!'' She hugged her, and Annie shyly hugged her back.

''What just happened?'' I said. I really couldn't understand how they knew Annie and saved my daughter?

''Sit. Did you eat? How about you, Kyo?'' I sat on the chair and Annie also.

''I'm done eating a while ago.'' She said, and I could sense that she was timid about what was happening.

''I will just make snacks for both of you.'' Mom went to the sink and got all the vegetables

''I'll help you, Tita.''

''Oh no, Annie. Let me. Call me Tita Lara.''

I look at them. Still lots of questions in my mind. How did they end up knowing each other? ''Here's the food. I made a salad for the three of us. Where are Lovely and Avida, Kyo?''

''Mom Avida went back to the hospital, someone called her, and Lovely also went back to her office.''

''I see. I didn't inform your mom that I would be home today. So, Annie, how did you end up here?''

''Lovely calls me if we could have a drink, but suddenly someone has followed me, and she decided to take me here. She said that I was in danger, which was the safest place she trusted.'' Annie said.

''Do you have any idea who followed you? It seems serious.'' After she said that, I've been thinking about what my sister told me before she left. Is this what she meant for? I am now curious about who you really are, Annie.

''Actually not and this is the first time that someone followed me. In my whole existence, I have never imagined that I

would be in this kind of situation.'' She said and as I looked at her eyes, she seemed scared.

''I'm sorry, but I will leave you alone. My office called me. Kyo, lock the gate and door, call me if you hear something, and it's late now. This must continue tomorrow. Annie needs to rest, okay?''

''Yes mom, take care!'' Mom left. Annie and I are the only ones here in the kitchen.

We were both silent going up to show her room. ''Here is your room. And that is my room. If you need something, don't hesitate to talk to me.''

''Thank you, Kyo, goodnight!'' She closed her door. I had something that was bothering me and I wanted to talk to Annie about that. I wanted to know more but mom's right, she needs to rest.

I know what I am going to do. I wrote everything I wanted to say and slid it under the door.

''Goodnight, Annie!'' I don't know if she heard it. I am now on my way to my room but I heard her door.

''Kyo, I'm scared...''
