chapter 7: new lease on life

"No!" Shouted Anastasia behind the closes door of their room.

"Princess please come out." Said Joanna with a look of guilt on her face for what she's putting Anastasia through.

" I said no I'm not gonna meet them!"

"Please princess I promise you this is important."

"GUHHH! Fine." Anastasia said as she let out a frustrated sound.

Anastasia was frustrated with Joanna for inviting Nico and Giovanni without any forewarning. Just imagine her surprise when this morning she opened the door expecting Marco to bring her cravings, only to find out that it was 2 members of her ex-family.

She was beginning to move on with her life. Finally cutting her loses and rising from the ashes that burnt her.

Anastasia can tell that the first thing they saw was her 3 month pregnant belly, as soon as she opened the door. She only stood in shock wearing just an oversized t-shirt that she borrowed from Marco, more like stole,before she came to her senses. She did the only thing her mind and heart where telling her to do and slammed the door right in their faces. She quickly made her way to the bedroom, before shutting the door behind her.

It hurt that she was seeing them again, but what differed was the lack of hatred that she got used to seeing in their eyes. Their eyes only held warmth and guilt, that she yearned for all those months back.

She was feeling betrayed when she heard Joanna opening the door and inviting them in.

Right then and their she came to the conclusion that Joanna was in on this and knew that they where coming.

'How could she just invite them to their apartment after everything she knew that I have been through' thought Anastasia

This time she was going to stand up for herself if not for her, at least for her baby that was growing inside her. If so she was entitled to have an attitude.

Anastasia's opened the door and walked out to face her family and the trouble she knew they would bring, while stomping her feet with each step she took and took a seat were her uncle and his lover was waiting for him.

She crossed her arms while she kept staring at them waiting for them to talk. She didn't even avert her eyes when she could feel Joanna sitting right next to her.

"So what do you want." Said Anastasia with a dead tone.

It made Nico and Giovanni feel more unwelcome, but that wasn't going to stop either of them from saying their piece.

"Look princepessa." Nico said as he leaned forward in the moldy chair.

"We wanted to say that we were sorry for everything an..." Nico leaned even more until he put his hands on Anastasia's knees in comfort.

Anastasia reacted negatively to his advance.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" she shouted as she pulled back from her uncle's touch "YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO AFTER EVERYTHING."

Nico stared at her with a bit of hurt and put his hand up in surrender to show that he didn't feel any harm.

"Okay. Okay. Just calm down." Said Giovanni as he was worried for Anastasia and her child from the stress.

"Why are you even here. Why?"

Anastasia started to cry as she put her head in hands and broke down. This wasn't how she was expecting her life to go, but that didn't mean that she liked her life being turned upside down again.

"Anastasia." Nico said with a stern voice. " I need you to calm down."

Anastasia did calm down a bit before she looked up at her uncle to see his eyes soften again when he looked at her.

"Princepessa I know what we did can never be forgotten or even forgiven. What we did to you will never be excused, but I swear to you and the life of your mother that I had no hand in what Dante and your grandfathers did."

Nico said as he sat next to Anastasia and looked into her blue eyes before holding her Dante hand in palm of his.

" What I can try to do is try to make it up to you and your babe and to keep you safe. I know that I let you down. That I betrayed ,but I'm asking of you is to give me a second chance with your heart and to hopefully gain you trust back."

Anastasia looked in shock at her uncle as she was the closest to him in both of the families, as he was more of a brother than uncle from their age distance. She didn't ever hear be so serious in his way of talking. From that moment Anastasia promised herself that she was never gonna trust so easily again. That she was gonna change for the better.

"Don't waste it as it's the only chance both of you are ever going to get." Said Anastasia with new found confidence as she replied sternly to her uncle.

All Nico and Giovanni felt was the happiness of being given that chance.

"Look princess." Said Joanna as she finally entered the conversation.

"All of us in this room wants was best for you and that is for you to be happy and safe wherever you are." Said Joanna " What we're trying to say is that can't happen while your here."

"What do you mean. You want me to leave town." Anastasia said looking at Joanna with an accusing stare.

"No princess I mean the country."

Anastasia had her mouth on the floor from what she was hearing, as she stared in shock at Joanna.

"Nope. Nope. I don't like this." Anastasia said while getting up to leave the room wanting to end the conversation early. Before she could do that Joanna grabbed her arm to make her fall again on the sofa.

" Listen princess you know your not safe. Especially since you know have your baby. Sooner or later both families will come looking for you and not with best intentions. It safer princess and I promise you that we will be there with you."

Finished Joanna as she stared intensely at Anastasia.

" What do you mean that no one is coming with me?" Said Anastasia above a whisper from the shock

"No princess it would be suspicious if anyone of us disappears." Said Joanna "We only want you to."

"How will I live? Where will I live? Who will be with me when I give birth?" Said Anastasia as she started to stutter ad she began to realize that she had no choice and that was the only chance to get out safely.

" That where I come in princepessa I'll provide everything. The fake papers. The money. The House. Everything. You just don't have to worry." Said Nico as he looked at Anastasia while Giovanni held his hand for support.

Both of them knew that this was the hardest thing that they will have to do is letting Anastasia go away.

All they wanted to do was hold her safe and closer more than ever. Now that new the truth about her. They just got her back and now they had to let her go. With a new lease on life for her and the baby.

They both sighed in defeat but knew it was the right thing to do.

"Next June you'll get all your stuff ready. You'll have finished your online school and will have graduated. That will give you the chance and no one to take action or even be suspicious." Said Nico

" To be safe it's better if you don't go out of the house for these two months so no one can report back to your grandfathers or Dante. That means you can't go to work, and to be safe next time we meet is when you leave" said Giovanni

"When you get out the only way for us to communicate is by emails or video call to not leave a trace." Said Joanna

"We will be saving up and I'll start putting my paychecks aside for you and taking in small sections some money from the family bank account." Said Nico

" Good thing is I have business out of the country in June ,so we'll take the private jet. It will be hard to do but it will be only be me, you, and Giovanni. Plus your pregnancy would have stabilize more for you to be able to fly and I'll help you to move"

" You guys really though of everything." Mumbled Anastasia as she stared in shock at all three of them. She still couldn't believe but it really was happening.

"So where am I going" she looked at them waiting for an answer to where her life will begin away from this dark world and its harsh judgment. Where kindness and mercy don't belong. One where she and her baby can live freely without the pressure.

"America." They answered

Sorry for the late update I had college but it will be a regular updating schedule from now on, as I have more chapters that I will write that will be published with a time.

That's because midterms are near anyway.

To be honest one of the hardest chapter to write. I don't know how Anastasia and Nico will meet but kept changing it
