“well I guess I feel better but I'm still cold” they heard her say to herself breathing a sigh “why am I talking to myself again I must really sound crazy haha” she said laughing at herself as she sat down on the cold cement ground of the school roof “now why wasn't I told about the dance beforehand. I mean, I'm on the student council to right. I'm even the student council president, although I haven't been the president for as long as Vincent has been. UGH! It's just so frustrating that I didn't know about it, and it doesn't help that I'm so flustered about the dance. I mean, should I go, so I half to go? Maybe I do since I am on the student council, and if I do go should I go with someone, wait if I do who with WAIT am I supposed to ask or are they supposed to ask. What am I supposed to wear to the dance GAH? Why is this so frustrating and confusing” she growled to herself again as she laid down on the ground of the roof. As she laid there they saw her stretch out sighing uneasily “well at least it's calm and peaceful up here well at least to where I can breath” Jasmine said as she took in a deep breath. Jack and Sophie stood up about to walk out when they heard another's voice“wow your a lot more talkative than I thought especially when you're by yourself or at least you think you are” stopped at the door they listened hearing the other voice on the roof. Suddenly they saw Jasmine jolt up to see a tall black haired guy sitting on the bench in the corner of the roof “Oh I'm sorry I thought that I was alone up here I'll...I'll just go” she stuttered as she fumbled to the roof door Jack and Sophie freaking out about what to do if they were spotted when suddenly they heard the voice speak again “no you're fine I'm usually up here by myself anyways. So it is a nice change to see someone else up here other than myself and what a surprise that its none other than the Secret Voice of the school and the new Council President Jasmine Knight” he said sounding like he was mocking as he clapped “um I don't know how to take that” Jasmine said crossing her arms annoyedly “no no you got me wrong it's a compliment. I'm just telling you what people call you I wasn't trying to be rude” he said uneasily “ah yes the silent voice of the school or the quiet girl, the weirdo who no ones heard say a word since early preschool oh and then there's the best one I've heard yet the fake mute girl who acts it out haha. Yea, I know! They all think I can't hear what they say but I can plus even if I didn’t all the gossip that goes around well I sooner or later would here about it I mean who wouldn't hear about all that crap” Jasmine said laughing roughly“well since I don't want to interrupt your lunch I think I'll just go” she said apologizing “no no you didn't I finished anyways so...you can stay if you’d like” he said nervously “sure why not I don't actually have anywhere to be right now” she said as she stepped away from the door “well I'm Jasmine Knight but you already know that huh” she said smiling “yeah but I'm Luke Carter” he said as he stood up and playfully bowed making us both laugh (LUKE WHAT’S IS HE DOING HERE) “hey didn't we go to middle and elementary school together” Jasmine asked “yeah we did but we didn't talk to each other. You didn't talk to anyone but Sophie actually” Luke explained, “yeah I was shy plus I've known Sophie since I was little so she was the only one I could talk to well other than my brother...” Jasmine said, pausing for a minute “Jasmine...” Sophie whispered to herself “an...anyways why are you up here alone” I asked, changing the topic “oh I always come up here. Don't know many people or exactly get along with them, ya know. So I usually stay away from everyone and come up here” Luke explained “oh yeah I can relate to that” Jack and Sophie heard Jasmine chuckle “so why are YOU up here” he hinted “who me. Um, well, I just found out that we're having a Christmas party type of dance, and you see, I've never actually been to one, so I wouldn’t know what to do at one. Plus, this place up here is always so peaceful to me. So I come up here to relax and clear my head every once in a while” Jasmine said as she smiled (why is she smiling at him) Jack thought to himself jealousy “ah well dances aren’t all that bad or really all that difficult to figure out I mean all you need is a date, a dress, and to have fun” he explained “yeah I guess you're right but I don't think dances are my thing. So I was just probably going to stay home. Plus, no one’s going to go with. I mean, you know what they say about me. I'm the freak of the school” “what but that's not true” Jack whispered to himself. Shocked, Sophie looked at Jack sadly. “You're not a freak of the school,” Luke said optimistically “yea I am! Plus, the only person I know who would go with me is Sophie, but I think she has another person in mind.” I laughed “Then you said I need a dress, but I honestly don't know how to get a dress. Heck, I don't even know if I'll need a formal dress, a regular dress, a comfy dress, or something else. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it’d be fun to go to the dance, but too many nerves, you know” Jasmine said, smiling weakly “then do you want to go together? I mean, as friends, that way I could show you how to have plus I fun at a dance. I mean, I kinda had the same plan as you. I was just going to stay home, but I'm being forced to go. So you just want to go together as friends and have fun” he asked nicely. Jack and Sophie were shocked. Jack boiling with anger and jealousy and Sophie saddened and upset by Jasmine's words“you don't half to trouble yourself” I said “I’m not I mean you want to go and I'm going by myself anyways plus you said no one would want to go with you and I'm asking if you want to go with me so...You want to go” he asked as he scratched his head nervously turning red. Shyly I looked to my feet then back up to him “sure it sounds like fun…” she said with a smile (no) Jack thought sadly to himself his heart broke as he sunk to the ground everything going quiet and blurry. “But um could Jack and Sophie come with use that way it'll be more fun ya know,” I said with a smile “cool...sure sounds great,” Luke said sounding a little uneasy “cool,” Jasmine said smiling happily as she went to the roof door. “Oh hey, Jasmine” Luke hollered softly “yeah,” she said softly stopping at the door turning around to look at Luke “a minute ago when you still didn't know I was up here. Was that you singing” Luke asked, smiling wickedly, already knowing the answer. He laughed as my face turned a bright red. Embarrassed, Jasmine turned around redness and all and started stuttering “what n...no you must be hear...hearing things” she stuttered shyly “I don't think so plus I saw you standing there singing. Well anyways you sounded really good” he complimented making me turn even redder “you...you're the third person to hear me sing” “really well then I'm honored to be one of the first to hear you sing” he said playfully bowing again making both of us laugh “I swear all of you overreact though” “oh really then who else has heard you” Luke asked laughing “Jack and Sophie” Jasmine said as she blushed brighter than a red pepper “you mean Jack Williams the popular boy” Luke asked sounding disgusted“yea it was an accident. He ended up hearing me sing while I was working on some papers in the classroom it was so embarrassing” she said trying to lighten the mood “really wow I'm surprised he hadn’t told everyone about your remarkable talent” he complimented smugly “no nononono I don't want anyone to know I sing” Jasmine said frantic “why you're amazing” he said again “I said that already” Jack whispered to himself as Luke complimented Jasmine again“no really I'm not” I said putting my hands up to him worried “but you are” he disagreed “not” Jasmine argued. He took my hands and pulled them close to his chest. I could hear his heartbeat and feel his body radiating warmth “re...really I'm not, I get flustered just by the thought that someone heard me singing” she explained nervously. Jack gave up with jealousy and walked away. Sophie followed not far behind, but before walking any further, she turned around to see them for a second more. Filled with more sadness, she quickly ran down to catch up with Jack. --DING DONG DING DONG--. Angry Jack wouldn't stop walking, his speed getting faster and faster “Jack...slow down...I can't keep up...” Sophie said out of breath “oh sorry Sophie I just…” “let's sit over there and talk ok,” Sophie said, pointing to the benches under the big old oak tree. Finally sitting down, Sophie sighed in relief from under the old oak trees cooling shade. Coming back to the subject at hand Sophie looked to Jack who was sitting on the bench blank-faced finally Sophie sighed “I'm going to text Jas ok” Sophie warned Jack but he didn't say anything he just sat there silently upset. Not long after, Sophie texted Jasmine to meet up. Sophie got a call from Jasmine. Hey Soph what’d you need? Are you ok?: Jasmine asked: yeah I'm ok and we need to talk like...know: she said hurriedly: um ok where are you: she asked :I'm at the benches around the old tree: Sophie explained :yea I know where it is ok I'll see ya” Jasmine said: ok see ya in a few: she said: yea bye: --BEEP-- Sophie turned to Jack abruptly and said “she's on her way ok” again nothing getting annoyed Sophie growled madly both from the annoyance from Jack's sulking and what they had just heard from Jasmine.
