“I see well we would like you to stay here for a day or so” he said looking from me to the papers in the folder “yea Sophie told me when she came in but is that really the only reason I need to stay what’s the real reason for me staying longer? Is it really just so y'all can keep an eye on me for the time being” I asked wanting an answer “we do want to keep an eye on you, yes but I want to see what the reasons behind the attacks are so I can find a solution to see if I can lengthen your time period” he explained. “I see that I'm guessing the blue stuff has spread more” I asked my head down with my hair covering my eyes. “I'm afraid so and because of that I'm afraid we don't know how long you have now” he explained sorrowful “it's fine not like we had any real time-line anyways...thank you for helping me and not saying anything to Sophie or the others” I said thankful as I gave him a smile. “It's your choice to tell whoever you want but I must implore you to say something soon” he advised “yes sir it's just hard to tell her when I just recently found out myself” I explained “yes and for a young girl your age it must be even more difficult to go through. I wouldn't wish this on anyone especially not on such a sweet girl who helps so many people as yourself does not deserve such cruelty” Dr. Williams said earnestly. “Thanks that means a lot” I said gratefully “well I have more patients to see so I'll check on you later” he explained “ok have a good rest of you're day” I said as I waved slightly as I watched him walk out the door. Holding my phone in hand I looked at Sophie's number her profile picture showing her smiling face. Wanting to call her and say I was done talking with Dr. Williams but my hand wouldn't move. Clenching the phone I leaned down my head touching my legs as tears fell with fear and anger eating at me “why...why me? Why do I half to die so early?” I cried softly (I'm sorry Jasmine if I hadn't wanted to die so badly your powers wouldn't have awoken) Samael apologized "No I would have died from these powers sooner or later. Whether it had been from you awakening my powers or later on in my life when they awakened on their own but I did hate killing you it really hurt but I know I was the only one who could save you from this curse. Since I have the same powers as you. For some unknown reason and because I have these powers I had to kill you or you would have died from your own in an already agonizing way. Plus only someone with the same gift can save the other. Which I don't get I mean that's just horrible to make someone kill the other just to save them” I said understandingly upset (I still am truly sorry Jasmine) Samael apologized again as I wiped my face clean of tears. Smiling happily I looked up to the ceiling “thanks for worrying about me but I'll be fine. I'M! Fine” I explained as I took a breath and picked up my phone pressing the call button. :yellow: Sophie answered :hey Soph Dr Williams just left y'all are good to come up: I said happily :wow that was fast I take it it was good news then.: She asked happily :yea I'll tell y'all when y'all get up here: I said :we're already on our way: Sophie said chuckling :ok see y'all in a minute then: :yep--Beep--: Sophie said hanging up (you going to tell them everything) “I don't know but I'll try but for know don't say anything until I tell them ok.” (Ok but the doctor's right you do need to tell them sooner rather than later) Samael said supportively “thanks Samael” (no problem Jasmine)--KNOCK KNOCK-- “come in” I said loudly, “hey Jas” Malakie said softly as they all came in “Hey guys...wow y'all look horrible” I laughed “your one to talk your the one in the hospital” Sophie defended. “Yea well when was the last time y'all ate or even slept...huh” I asked chuckling “ok ok you're right but we couldn't leave until we knew you were ok” Jack said speaking for all four of them. “Well as you can see I'm ok” I said holding up my arms and giving them a sweet smile showing them I was ok. “Sure you look ok but you are prone for hiding how you really feel” Luke said wearily “Jasmine you half to admit you have been acting really weird lately” Jack said honestly. All their eyes were full of worry making my heart hurt from guilt (you need to tell them Jasmine. Look at them there worried sick, literally) Samael echoed in my head seriously. Sighing I looked at them all and smiled softly “ok guys they truth is I've been going to Dr. Williams in secret” I admitted. “Why would you do that Jas” Sophie asked shocked “well honestly…” I said stopping “honestly what” Malakie asked worried “ok --Sigh-- ok the reason I've been going to see Dr. Williams secretly was to see if he could help me find out why I've been having these fainting spells and stuff” I said with my head down “but why didn't you tell us we could have been there for you” Sophie said upset. “Yea I know but I didn't want y'all to deal with my problems since there's already enough going on. Plus I didn't want y'all to get your hopes up or be disappointed” I said sadly. “Oh Jasmine! We just want to be there for you and to help you through this so you don't half to feel alone” Sophie said smiling gently “yea I know but I felt like it was something I needed to do on my own” I said sighing. “Ok well did you at least tell your mom and dad” Sophie asked “not from what I've heard she hasn't” Malakie stated “Jasmine…” Sophie said getting on to me “I'm sorry...yes I didn't tell them about the doctors appointments but for a good reason” I said defending myself. “We're listening” Sophie said crossing her arms “they have enough stress on their plates with Daddies work and worrying about what's going on with me. I mean every time I leave the house I half to tell them where all I'm going, what time I'm leaving, and what time I'll be home and that's even when he sends someone with me. Then Momma she has to worry about me, about work, cooking even though I help, cleaning the house although I help. She died from cancer for christ sake. She should be taking it easy and being careful and she is certainly not stopping Daddy from his overbearing protectiveness. Heck I think she's in on it to...so no I didn't tell Momma or Daddy that I've been going to the doctor. Just because I didn't want to worry them” I said defensively finally taking a breath. Looking at Sophie her facial expression was calm “ok I get that I really do but why did you lie to use” Sophie asked upset “What! I never lied” I said certain. “Yeah you did you said you were fine but your not you've been going to the doctor and for how long?” Sophie asked. “A little over a week,” I said nervously “so that's what all this has been about! All those secret phone calls you've been getting, you were late to our meetups even the sudden disappearances” Sophie said sighing as she put her hand to her face “I'm sorry Jack, Luke y'all were right” Sophie apologized. “What do you mean they were right” I asked looking at them suspiciously. Not making eye contact they turned away from my gaze “Sophie…” I said as Sophie looked from the boys to me “Alright enough! Jasmine, you've been acting weird and all of us have noticed, we’ve all agreed that we have seen you being and acting questionable lately. Like going to the doctor's office without telling us, being tired but active. Disappearing, saying you were going somewhere when you weren't, saying you had something else to do. Getting strange calls and lying to us about what they were for. You’ve even been late to things I mean you have never been late to anything. Then there are all these fainting spells and then you go and start distancing yourself even more from all of us. I mean your already a closed off person as it is but this is getting ridiculous so yeah we're worried” Sophie said her voice shaking with sorrow. “Luke even told me you got an important call from my Dad. You were talking to him around the corner of the daycare school but while you were on the phone my dad said something that upset you. Something that upset you lot from what Luke said. Plus to top it all off Luke saw you coming out of my Dad's doctor's office downtown. I mean don't get me wrong I haven't known you as long as Malakie or Sophie has but even I could tell you where acting off.” Jack explained “ahh ok-ok let me explain those weirdnesses that all of you have been noticing...first my acting tired wasn't an act. This thing I'm going through makes it to where I don't have much energy but I'm also the most active person you could ever meet. I can never stay still. I'm always moving whether it be my foot, hand or just a finger. Plus, I’ve continued distancing myself from each of you because I didn't know what was going on with me. I didn't want to hurt all of you any more than I already have. Now the reason I've been disappearing and saying I had something else to do. I had to work early because of my doctor's appointments. Or I had to go to work to let them know I needed at least an hour break so I could go to my appointment” I explained. Looking at their faces I could see their confusion, understanding, worry as well as happiness. “Well, either way, no matter what you heard or saw I'm fine now,” I said smiling catching their attention. “So Dr. Williams said you were okay,” Sophie asked, “yes yes I'm fine...” I said trying to reassure her “does he know what's wrong? Why do you keep fainting...” Sophie kept asking. “Sophie take a breath and let Jasmine explain,” Malakie said interrupting her mid-sentence. “Oh, sorry Jas keep going,” Sophie said blushing embarrassed “ok Dr. Williams said that he doesn't know what's causing the fainting spells. So he's trying his best to help me so I'm going to keep going for appointments just to be on the safe side. He doesn't know how long I'll keep this up so he said I should take it easy and that he's sure I'll be fine” I started. Sighing Sophie fell to the ground in relief. Seeing everyone let out a sigh of relief I breathed out a sigh “what did y'all think that I was going to die geez shows what y'all were thinking” I said making fun of them. “No-no it's not that Jas like I said we’ve just been worried about you” Sophie defended. “Yea I know and I'm sorry I worried all of you” I apologized. “We should be saying sorry to you Jasmine,” Jack said. “Yea we knew something was up and didn't say anything or even do anything we just stood watching” Luke agreed. all of their heads down in guilt “guys it's fine, I'M fine” I said embarrassed “you shouldn't be apologizing you should be yelling at us, you should be angry with us” Jack stated “guys…” “we're sorry,” Sophie said apologizing before I could say anything “fine I am mad…” “you should be…” Malakie started “ok, stop no more talking till I'm done talking to you,” I said shutting them up. “You're right I am mad...I'm mad that all of you didn't go home to sleep and eat all of you are very important to me. So that means it hurts me to see all of you like this y'all are a serious reck...all of you need a good rest and something to eat, so the only way I'll forgive you all is if all of you GO HOME, eat a good meal, then get a good well-needed rest now. Is that understood” I asked resolutely? They looked at each other then to me weirded out “what...do you mean” Jack asked confused “exactly what I said if all of you go home, eat, and rest I'll forgive you and I won't be mad anymore” I started smiling at them “but…” Malakie started before being stopped “home, eat, rest or don't bother coming back...no wait on second thought come back and face your punishment.” I said smiling evilly making them all start sweating nervously moving back a bit. “So what will it be,” I asked, watching them stand straight. “Jasmine your mother just got off the phone with...oh hello everyone what are all you doing.” Daddy asked as he walked into the room “no..nothing sir we were just leaving” Jack said nervously. “Yea um Dad I'm going to go home” Malakie said rushing out the door “it was nice seeing you Mr. Knight” Sophie said rushing off out the door following Jack, Luke and Malakie “see ya Jasmine hope you feel better tomorrow...bye” Luke finally said as he slowly but hastily walked out the door. “What happened to them?” Daddy asked puzzled. “They're just tired so I asked them to go home and rest. Especially since they’ve been here since I got admitted” I said innocently. “Okay? Well, your mother just got off the phone with your grandmother” Daddy groaned. “Yea and what did she say” I inquired “well she understood the situation but she won’t be able to make it out here until possibly Friday. Maybe later because she's dealing with an urgent matter that needs her undivided attention.” Daddy admitted “ok and...” I queried “and we couldn't get ahold of your aunt but that's no surprise their” Daddy sighed “Daddy” I said aggravatedly “ok so your grandmothers going to try and get here as fast as she can and she will check you out and see if there's anything we can do and to see how bad or good it is and hopefully you're Aunt Vanessa will call us back this time” Daddy muttered “alright well that's a good start...at least I know I'll have some help right” I suggested “yep and you're grandmothers quite good with these things...don't tell her I said that” he whispered hilariously as he leaned down “I won’t” I laughed. Daddy stood up straight as he steadily laughed which started making me laugh with him. “Hey, Daddy you able to go get my computer,” I asked “you're supposed to be resting Jasmine not working,” Daddy said sternly “yea and I won’t be working I'll be playing or reading,” I said cheekily as he stared me down. “Alright, I'll go to the house and get your computer but NO! work related to anything you understand” daddy said earnestly “ok Daddy no work-related stuff I promise,” I said raising my right hand beside my head as I put my left hand to my heart promising. “Ok will you be alright by yourself,” Daddy asked caringly (she's not alone Mr. Knight) Samael sounded startling Daddy “ah right sorry Samael” (it's no problem) “oh and Daddy...” I said stopping Daddy “yes honey,” Daddy said peaking back through the door before he closed it “you and Momma get some sleep while you home please,” I asked sincerely. He didn't say anything he just smiled and nodded his head then closed the door. (you lied to your friends. I thought you were going to tell them everything) “well technically I did tell them just not the compleat truth I just left out the possibly inevitable death, my powers, then the blue death, or the memory thing, and the Katharine thing” (that's too much ,not to tell anyone you can't just keep bottling everything up, Jasmine) Samael concerned “it's fine I mean I'm telling you everything so it's not fully bottled up” (but they need to know or you as well as them with end up hurt) Samael warned. "I know, I just can't right now."
