Chapter 15 - The Fight

1160 Words
What seemed like minutes turned into hours, with father and daughter staring each other down in silence until Zadimus broke the silence first. "Livana, how often do I have to tell you that marrying Vernon is best for you and our people?" Livana glared harder at her father, interrupting him before he could continue speaking, "Is it? Or is it better for you? Because if you truly knew me, Dad, you would know I am no longer a child. You can't just keep ordering me around." Zadimus was taken aback a bit on what his daughter said before continuing his lectures towards her. "Livana, from the moment you were born, you were destined to marry a prince. Hence, all those classes you went to when you were young were to prepare you for ruling an entire kingdom and marriage." Zadimus stepped closer before reaching out his right hand towards his daughter, but before he could close the gap between them, Livana stepped away from him, shaking her head. Livana noticed Ellerosé looking up in her direction. Their eyes met, and Livana knew now would be a good time to tell her dad how she genuinely felt. Livana felt her stomach drop and a heavy pressure on her chest. Livana closed her eyes for a minute, took a deep breath before lifting her head to look at Zadimus dead in the eyes. "Father, there is something you must know," Livana had began to say. Zadimus raised one of his eyebrows, signalling Livana to continue. Livana gulped before saying, "I don't like men." Before Livana understood what she said she quickly cupped her mouth with her hands, eyes wide in shock, having no control over what she had just said to her father. Livana looked back at her father, who then c****d his head to the side before bursting out with laughter. He replied, "Come on, Livana, you can't be serious; since when did you think of this?" Zadimus continued laughing as he nudged Vernon's arm, and Vernon joined in, laughing while saying, "That is just absurd. No one in the royal family's history has been with the same s*x; what world are you living in, princess?" Livana felt her hands close into fists. "Well, isn't it time to change that history and create a new chapter?" she said firmly, feeling confident. Vernon replied with, "A new chapter? Ha, surely not. We cannot have that at all. We must stick with the old values that have been taught to us. It is for the best for the families and the people of the underworld. We would not want to send the wrong ideas to the next royal family generation, would we?" Before Livana or anyone else knew it, Livana had dashed towards Vernon in a blink of an eye and punched him so hard in the face. This caused him to fly off the ground, contacting one of the big trees, followed by a loud cracking sound. Ellerosé and Ràinà raised their heads in shock and horror as Vernon stood up, regained his balance, and looked at them with his annoying smirk, saying, "Wow, I love a strong woman who is also very powerful." Glaring at Vernon, Ellerosé warned him to be careful with his words. However, Vernon snickered and swiftly moved behind Livana, wrapping his arms around her waist. He whispered in her ear, "Come on, dear. You know we are a great couple. Picture it. You and me, king and queen of the underworld. Nothing can stop us. We will be unstoppable." In response, Livana used her power to snap his arms back and turned away from him, saying, "In your dreams, asshole." As she spoke, her eyes began to turn a black coal colour with red highlights, turning the night sky into a dark, deep velvet red and setting the surrounding trees on fire. Livana glared at Vernon, watching him look around before seeing his eyes widen in horror, he then looked at my father to see if he could interfere, but my father did not dare intervene as he knew exactly what would happen. "You want to see how far I can use my power? I will show you," Livana began to say in a harsh, echoed voice. Vernon watched while stepping back; seeing Livana's appearance change, she began to levitate off the ground, and dark black vampire wings that were each a good few meters wide appeared from behind her; Livana then felt a smirk form on her face, watching Vernon be scared like the prey had turned into the hunter, and the hunter turned into the prey. Ellerosé and Ràinà, both off to the side, watched in horror seeing the true deadly form of a royal when another has either made them super angry or messed with someone they hold very dear to them to show others and have them know that they are f****d. Before Vernon had any chance to run, Livana bolted towards him at lightning speed, decapitating his head from his body in one quick swipe motion. Livana then looked at the head, seeing the last ever expression before turning to see the body fall to its knees and then laying down on the ground. Livana had then transformed back into her normal form, the big dark black wings disappearing and her black coal eyes with red highlights turned back to a blue colour; she then grabbed a sharp stick and placed it through Vernon's head and then stabbed the other end of the stick into his deceased body. Livana's father Zadimus walked over and stood beside her, looking at what she had done to Vernon. "You are definitely my daughter," he began to say. Livana turned to look at him, and he turned to look at her. "You know I did something similar to what you did, but it was with a different meaning." After hearing what her father said, she asked, "What was your reason?" He then turned to look back at the scenery before smiling and looking back at me. "I fought to be with your mother. Someone else liked her too; they had started the fight, of course, but they were no match for me as I had ended it, then your mother and I got married and then years later had you and your brother." Livana looked down at the ground before then looking up to the sky, which was back to night withstars and the moon. "let's go home" Livana heard her father say as shewatched him slowly head back home; Ellerosé and Ràinà had then walked over fromthey were observing, standing behind Livana waiting for her to walk so thatthey then could follow. Livana turned to look at them, seeing them both nod their heads in agreement. Livana smiled at them and turned to follow her fatherback home with Ellerosé and Ràinà close behind, leaving the clearing and Vernon's deceased body behind and not looking back.
