MEETING CASSANDRA

‎PORSHA POV ‎ ‎I sat infront of my mirror applying medicine to my injured arm, as Anne put the finishing touches to my princess ponytail. It wasn't right the way his highness behaved with me last night. ‎Looking back, I couldn't help but curse as to how things ended, I knew Leviathan was drunk, he wasn't in the right head space so the right thing to do was politely turn him down, but instead I let my ego overwhelm me, and slapped him. ‎But one thing is clear now, I was no match for Leviathan. I knew that from the moment his fist scattered the wall. ‎“Porsha, I will head out to the kitchen for your breakfast,” Anne informed and I nodded before she exited the room. ‎Honestly, I wasn't hungry, but I needed sometime alone so I could efficiently convey my feelings to God in prayers. ‎I walked to my bed, went on my knees, and with close eyes tabled my deepest thoughts and desires to God. ‎ ‎"Lord God, I know I have sinned and come short of your glorious and I am not worthy to come before you, but I crave your indulgence. Look upon me with mercy and grand me the strength to defeat my enemy the demon king, Leviathan. He is a tyrant who deserves nothing good, I want you to help me with the strength so I could force him to atone for his sins......" I began praying but an unfamiliar feminine voice cuts in. ‎"Other women pray for their husband's life, but you pray for his death. Shouldn't that be considered as witchcraft?" She ask, her tone cold yet venomous. ‎In a panic I jolted around only to see a beautiful young lady with lovely icy blue eyes and blonde hair standing there. A frown etched on her oval face. ‎She was wearing a long, red mermaid skirt and a matching red crop top which had a V-neckline, and puff sleeves. Her long blonde hair was left to fall free with a middle pathing. She had a heavily embroidered veil on her head which matched her clothing and a small diamond crown. ‎One look at her, and I knew who she was, one of Leviathan's wives. ‎ ‎"Greetings" I greeted with a puzzled smile as I rose to my feet. She didn't speak instead she just responded with a raised hand to the nose, as she took in my full stature. Honestly, I didn't know why she was here but I was certain that she wanted trouble, “To what do I owe the visit queen” ‎"Does the owner of the harem need a reason to visit any room in it?” She asked, her tone laced with arrogance and I immediately knew who she was, queen Cassandra, the first queen of Ember nest, and Leviathan's best friend. I have heard tales of her arrogance and how she ruled as lord over Leviathan's women's chambers but not once did I imagine she'd look so young and tiny. ‎"It's an honor to be graced by your presence" I informed with a small bowl, not because I was truly honored but because in our tradition honor is given to who it's due. ‎"Unfortunately I do not share in such sentiments with women who use their bodies as bait to lure men into their shameless trap of death" She insulted, taking me aback. ‎ ‎I immediately raised my head, staring her straight in the eyes with utter confusion. ‎"I beg your pardon" I voiced with a distasteful frown. A knot forming in my stomach. ‎“Pardon me, I was just thinking out loud. Don't worry about it, it's an age thing you wouldn't understand” She said with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Of course she meant every word of what she just said, she must have said it to annoy me on purpose but I refuse to let her win. ‎“Of course, I will keep that in mind when I begin aging” I said with a fake smile of my own, and her smile immediately died down. ‎ ‎"I have a question queen. You say you love God, but what does your bible say? to pray for your husband's downfall or to bless them?" She asked with a straight face, her gaze narrowing at me. I opened my mouth to speak but unfortunately my tongue felt stuck. ‎She smiled sheepishly, bet she knew she got me exactly where she wanted. ‎"It is said ‘‘wives obey your husband” and that a good wife prays for her husband's well being, or did your mother not teach you those things?" She asked , her tone hinting at more mockery than doubting. ‎"And that same bible talks about husbands loving their wives as christ loves the church and sacrificed his life for it" I informed acrimoniously. There was no way I was going to let her ridicule my up bringing because of that shameless husband of hers. ‎ ‎Her eyes widened, and with a determined look she stepped forward with a comeback. ‎"That same bible speaks of loving your enemies and praying for those who hate you" She said provocatively. I smiled, a warm spark igniting in my chest, it had been so long since someone smart engaged me in an argument ‎"It's equally said do not to dwell in the council of the ungodly" I informed stepping forward, my eyes peeled on her. ‎"Good one queen" She said with an abject laugh, and a clap. “Finally I had defeated her,” I thought but what she said next completely changed that. ‎"I was told you were insolent but I must confess that word doesn't do justice to you. You're far worse” ‎“Listen up little queen, you would have to abide by a certain group of rules if you wish to enjoy all the privileges that comes with being queen, or gaining Leviathan's attention. And those rules include obeying all the commands given by his highness and myself" she added with a serious expression, her eyes turning red. ‎"Is that a threat?" I asked doubtful, with a raised brow. ‎"Not at all Porsha. I do not threaten people. I am simply informing you, " She said, her voice bubbling with sincerity and I immediately burst into laughter. Of all the news I could receive this was by far the best, if she had the power to keep Leviathan away from me, then maybe my life wouldn't be so miserable here. ‎ ‎“And what is funny?” She asked with trembling limbs. She was furious, I could practically see a vein pop on her forehead. ‎“Nothing my queen. I was just amazed at your power over his highness. I am a bit curious to just how much power you hold over him” I voiced nonplussed, in a bit to force her hand. I wanted to know exactly how much she could help me in my quest of getting rid of Leviathan from my life. ‎“I have enough Porsha. One word and he would never look at you again. You could ask the other queens if you doubt me. One fight and they lost a husband” She conveyed, her voice thunderous and I praise. ‎“In that case, you have my total obedience” I said and a smile creeped to her lips, “On the condition that you ensure he never wants me again" ‎Her lips immediately fell, “What???" She asked. ‎“You heard me queen. That is what I want" I declared, my tone firm. The truth was, I needed assurance, from someone like her that that animal wouldn't try anything with me ever again especially since my body yearned for his touch. ‎“Impressive, Leviathan has officially gotten married to his craziest wife yet. You do not want your husband to desire you. Fine I will help you” She said and my smile intensified. ‎“On one condition. You would have to kiss my feet” She said with a nemesing smile. Obviously aiming at humiliating me but I was too desperate to care. If she wished she was free to tell the entire palace of our agreement. ‎“Deal” I informed, and she froze up for a couple of seconds, before speaking. ‎“In that case get to work” She said pulling her foot from her sandal. ‎But just then the voice of my guard boomed from the outside. ‎‘’Beware the empress of Ember nest, the mother of the Emperor, empress Helen is approaching the room” ‎ ‎Immediately Empress Helen walked in, and queen Cassandra replaced her foot in her shoe. ‎“Greetings mother” I greeted with a bow. ‎“Greetings my child” Empress Helen said, before turning to queen Cassandra, “Cassandra you're here?” ‎“I was just about to leave empress. Queen Porsha we will continue later” Queen Cassandra said, exiting the room. ‎“My child how was your night?” She asked, her eyes laced with concern. ‎“Good mother. How was yours?" I doubted with a smile. The innocence behind her excitement made my heart race. ‎“Good my dear” She said, her smile pure, and sincere, “I wanted to invite you for a close family breakfast between you, me, and my son” ‎I froze, my heart almost leaping out of my chest as I stared up at her. ‎I swallowed a lump in my throat. The last thing I wanted to do was see Leviathan, but what was I supposed to do, I couldn't possibly disappoint her, she was the only one who truly cared for me here. ‎############### ‎ ‎ ‎
