Chapter 11: One Night, No Rules
The limo ride back was silent.
But the silence wasn’t peaceful. It pulsed with tension, electric and charged like a storm waiting to crack the sky open. Elena sat rigid, her gown pulled high along her thigh from the way Jaxon’s hand had wandered under the table during dinner.
He hadn’t said another word after that.
He didn’t need to.
When they entered the penthouse, the air changed.
Jaxon loosened his tie, his gaze locked on her like a lion watching prey that had just stopped running.
Elena stepped back.
Not out of fear—out of anticipation.
He moved forward.
“I’ve been patient,” he said, voice low and deep. “I played the part. Smiled for the cameras. Pretended to be the calm one.”
Her breath caught.
He reached her in two strides.
“But you—Elena—you lit the match tonight.”
His hand slipped around her waist, pulling her flush against him. “You kept looking at me like you wanted to be ruined.”
She opened her mouth, but no words came out.
Then his lips claimed hers—hot, hungry, demanding.
There was no pretense now. No contract. No public. No rules.
His jacket dropped. Her heels clicked backward as he walked her into the wall, his mouth devouring every inch of her neck. She moaned as his hand found her bare thigh, sliding up with slow, dominating precision.
“Tell me to stop,” he growled against her skin.
“I won’t,” she whispered, gasping.
Jaxon lifted her effortlessly, her legs wrapping around his waist as he carried her toward the bedroom. They left a trail of clothes behind—his shirt, her dress, his belt undone with a snap that echoed through the hall like thunder.
The bed caught them both, but it was barely used.
Jaxon pinned her down, his hands everywhere, his body controlling, demanding, unrelenting. There was nothing gentle about it. It was raw, possessive, and primal—the kind of intimacy that erased the line between hate and want.
“You’re mine tonight,” he rasped, dragging his lips down her collarbone. “Say it.”
She arched beneath him. “I’m yours.”
It wasn’t just s*x.
It was a claim.
And Elena let herself burn.
