Nina placed the red rose atop her father's casket and stepped back as it was lowered into the ground. Her heart was breaking as she had lost the only other person in the world who knew her best, her mother had died six months earlier from cancer and her father who was as healthy as a horse suddenly began to deteriorate he went from looking like a young man in his prime to an old man nearing the end of his life, but she had kept those thoughts to herself. But a week ago he had asked her to come to her childhood home because he was nearing his end. She had rushed over and immediately tried to call him an ambulance, but he had forbade her but when she persistent her father transformed before her into a magifinact wolf beast and again commanded her in a voice that she immediately obeyed, she was afraid of him, but in awe of the creature almost as if it was a familiar face to her, but it didn't stop her from trying to leave the room, again her father used a tone with her that she couldn't help but obey. "Sit my little one," he said in the voice that Nina knew as her father, as she sat her father returned to his human form. Instinctively she tried to help him when he seemed weak and about to fall, but he stopped her with the wave of his hand. "I am Alpha Edward of the Black Moon pack." Nina shook her head at her father fearing he was going mad as well as herself seeing him transform into a mammoth sized wolf and then back into a human. "You are not losing your mind my little Nina, there is world outside of your world that has been in rotation longer then the world you know." "Daddy, please stop. You are ill." Nina had tears in her eyes and like that her father had swooped her up in his arms and brought her to lay beside him in the bed she had ran too as a little girl when she heard things go bump in the night. "Nina, my little girl I don't have much time left with you, your mother's soul is calling my beast to eternal sleep. I have so much to tell you, but I have used all my last strength transforming one last time. My brother will come for you because he will know when I take my last breath and he will become the Alpha of the Black Moon pack and he will cover you, my little Nina. Trust him,' he paused a minute as if listening for something, "Your mother is calling me, her sweet voice is pulling me to her new home. My Nina, you did not get my gift, but you remained a pure one like your mother, you are special Nina." And as if he were about to speak again the words never came, but instead his eyes glowed a bright red and his grip tighten on her as if he was hugging her one last time and next she knew his eyes were black circles and her father was no more. As Nina cried and screamed and pleaded with her father to come back nothing happened. She fell asleep and when she woke, she was in a bedroom that wasn't hers, it was a beautiful and grand room with floor to ceiling windows that gave an amazing view of the stars and full moon. Her head hurt and as her thoughts raced to bring her back to reality her heart again begin to break at realizing she was all alone in this world. A light knock came and then in walked one of the most beautiful women Nina had ever seen. Her light skin was ageless and her black and grey dreadlocks were up in a unique style atop her head. Her piercing green eyes danced over Nina's face as she walked over to her. "I figured you'll be more at easy here in this room since it was your mother and father's room before he left the packhouse." Nina looked at the woman with confusion. "Forgive me Nina, I'm Luna Miranda, I'm your uncle's wife, the now appointed Alpha of the Black Moon pack. He'll be in shortly as they are making burial arrangements for your father, his brother." Nina jumped up from the bed, "I should be with him, could he not consult with me, he was my father!" Miranda looked at Nina shocked at her outburst for speaking so forward about the Alpha's decision and him should have talked with her before making his decision. Yes indeed human woman were far more different then she wolves. "Nina darling, your uncle, the Alpha will do what is best for both you as he arranges Alpha Edward's funeral. "You all are crazy! All this talk about Alphas and mates, this is bullshi-" "That's enough out you young lady!" Nina stopped mid sentence as the commanding voice echoed in the room. Nina watched Miranda get up from the bed with a apologetic smile on her face, but she walked over to the voice. It belonged to a man that looked just like her father except his eyes were brown where her father's eyes had been blue. He stood maybe a foot taller then her father too, which meant he was probably 6'2 he was bulk with muscle and his hair was a dark gold with streaks of grey. He was a handsome man, and he made her want her father. She didn't know this man or his wife, she was alone. "Nina, please don't cry, Edward told you to trust me." The big man came and sat next to Nina making the bed dip with his weight, without warning he reach for her and like a little lost girl she ran to him and let her heart pour out in the convulsing unstoppable sobs of heartbreak. "Hush little Nina, Uncle Robert is here now." . . Across from her stood a family she knew nothing about. A family her father had told her would come for her once he died. They were all beautiful and they were all werewolves. Uncle Robert came over to her and Aunt Miranda took up her other side and they lead her to the family car where Uncle Robert's omega Timmons was waiting with the door open for them. "You'll stay with us for a few days." It was aunt Miranda who spoke. Nina just nodded as she got into the car and entered a whole new world.
