The Current King of The Lycans

834 Words
Mason St Clair was a man of means nothing bothered him. He had lived centuries and most likely had centuries more to go. He walked into his office and was greeted by his personal omega, Richard. "Sir, can I get you anything?" "No, but I do wish to trouble you with a bit of venting." Richard nodded, as he and the king had been friends just as long as he had served the king as his Omega. Richard respected the king and was devoted to him as he had saved his life years ago when Mason's father had wanted to kill him, a rogue not by choice, but by the slaughter of his pack; Richard had been caught trying to steal food yet a young Mason had convinced his father to give Richard a job, which led to him becoming Mason's personal omega and friend. Mason sat down at his desk and Richard sat across from him in a vacant chair. Looking at his friend, he knew what was bothering him, so he simply said her name to confirm, "Tabitha." Mason looked up at Richard nodded. "She is ill and doesn't have much time left, her only wish is that I take in the son I fathered with her. The boy's 18th birthday is in two months meaning..." Mason's voice trailed off. But Richard understood what wasn't being said, the boy would receive his beast and a new born Lycan without guidance is a nightmare waiting to happen. "What's the boys name?" "Lucas." Mason wasn't ashamed of the son he sired with his human lover Tabitha, his marriage to his queen had been arranged and he marked his queen rightly so, but just months after his wedding to Rachel, he and his friends was at a human bar and Tabitha's scent hit him. His beast went wild for the woman. Mason knew the woman was his beast's mate, but he couldn't mark her nor claim her so he tried to ignore the mate bond as lycans have more control over the mate pull, unlike there cousins, the werewolf, who almost immediately give into their urge for the bond. Yet one night in a fit of rage, after an argument with Rachel, he'd left and sought Tabitha out and found her willing and ready for the taking. She willingly gave her body to him and continued to do so even after he explained he could never be with her beyond the simple nightly occasions he was able to escape his, at the time princely duties, but when he became king, Rachel, who he thought was blind to the affair asked him to end it as now he was a king with a reputation to uphold with a family. So he had out of respect for her, agreed to end his ties with the human woman, who he now admits possibly held his heart, but the day he broke it off with Tabitha she told him she was pregnant too, so he did the only thing he could do, he set up a monthly allowance for her and their son and left Tabitha to raise the boy alone hoping the financial support was enough. So when she recently reach out to him saying she needed to speak with him, Mason was shocked seeing she hadn't tried to contact him in 17 years for nothing, she hadn't even touched the funds he deposited into the account for her and the boy every month. So giving into the urge to see her, he met with her at a restaurant. Mason had expected to see the beautiful green eyed brunette that had marked his beast many moons ago, but instead he saw a weak and sickly shell of a woman. She had told him that she was dying from a rare form of cancer and that Lucas needed him, his father to be there for him, since she was about to leave him now. Mason had without hesitantation agreed to care for the boy. But when asking where he was, Tabitha told him that he had got in with a bad crowd and she hadn't seen him in months, which was another reason she needed his help. She wanted to say goodbye to her son, but she needed him to find him. Sighing Mason looked over at Richard, "I need you to locate the boy." Richard nodded already figuring this is what Mason wanted to talk with him about. "And once I locate him?" Mason looked at his friend, "Bring him here, so that I might introduce him to his family." Richard nodded, but felt a sadness for his friend as he knew this was a hard thing for him to check off his to do list, but one thing about Mason St Clair, he kept his word. Richard got up and left his friend and king to his thoughts as he saw the distant look in his eyes knowing he was else where in his mind and heart.
